No matter how many times Chris keeps losing people, allies and friends for many years over and over again he still keeps on smiling, fighting and always keeps moving forward... at least he still has Jill obviously his lover and Claire the only blood family he has left, and some allies and friends too like Barry, Sheva, Leon, Josh, Sherry and Rebecca but Jill and Claire are the closest to him, Chris Redfield will always be my favorite re male character he's the God of Resident Evil
Aww, my poor video game husband just CANNOT catch a break. He always carries the world on his shoulders, and he always blames himself for everything that goes wrong. He has carried all those deaths with him through the years, unable to let them go and always striving to do better. Yet, always failing. I wasn't a huge fan of RE8, but it was nice to see Chris again. And adding in his scenes, especially where Mia is yelling at him up against Piers and Jake doing the same... it just compounds how hard he takes every failure. It's clear on his face how devastated he is. He can only ever make eye contact with Jake 'cause killing Wesker was something he felt was right (obvs, it was ;p). But with Piers and Jill and Mia: he looks away. That blue coloring, though, is gorgeous! And this song is perfection for him. Such a tormented character. :[ Wonderful vid!

Poor boy deserve it though, always trying so hard to save everyone but always failing (almost always, he still saved Jill and Claire and Sheva at least lol he's more lucky to save women than men XD). Thank you :) I adored RE8 lol and adored see Chris again (who look finally like Chris, unlike RE7), and yes, I noticed through the games, that boy takes so much and he still stand up. Despite being a horror series, at it's core, Resident Evil is very sad. And there's really no more tragic a character than Chris Redfield. In the mansion incident, he lost his good friends Forest Speyer, Richard Aiken and Joseph Frost. Code Veronica, his sister's been pulled into a line of work she never wanted, Resident Evil 5, he got a little bit of revenge by finally putting down Albert Wesker but the events left Jill Valentine more than likely unable to continue working in the BSAA (we don't even know how she's doing post RE6. He never even mentions her anymore). He loses men constantly, he wanted out of this line of work but Pier Nievans died and he had to continue. By the time he loses Ethan Winters, I imagine the man just wants to rest. His life, his friends, it was all taken from him and yet he still carried on, because more than anyone, he could take it.
For real after resident evil 5 at the end of that helicopter with Chris Jill Sheva and Josh all seemed happy but in 6 chris went down just a dark path it was insane only piers got em out of it and died in 7 he was alright and in 8 seems like he completely tired but swore to piers he keep fighting
At least he still has Jill and Claire who got lucky they are the two closest to him his little sister, and his close partner/ friend who they definitely have feelings for each other
They are so in love that's it's criminal that they are not canon honestly lol but yes, true, at least he still have the persons who was the most important for him.

I hate how everyone is saying Chris always has teammates that die beside him but they dont blame Leon for letting Ada go with the Gvirus, Las Plagas sample that cause the events of Re 5 and Re 6. And you have the balls to call Leon he hero of Resident Evil when Chris has to clean up his mess for two games.
I love Leon and Chris equally, but it's true that I also dislike that they blame Chris often for this when he couldn't really do a lot of things to help, he's human, after all, even if he faced all of these things again and again.

Women, men, it doesn't really matter, but the fact that Chris never gets any form of love is not a good thing at all and are part of the reason who make him so alone and depressed, with his anger issues, his trauma and all of these things who make that he often caused the death of people around him. Because he was too alone. There's nothing good about that. The same for Leon. Also, it was wanted at the beginning that Chris and Jill gets a romantic relationship, then the idea was more or less abandoned, but Capcom never gave up the hits about it. So the fact that Chris only had platonic relationships with women is debatable. In the end, Chris and Leon are not really different.

Can't help but be sad for him. It's just hard to have a happy life with the world going nuts. I'm kind of thinking maybe he really is with Jill after all. I mean Jill didn't run after him when he was lost and neither did Claire when these two women just runs after him so much. I saw claire with some sort of red box, either a gift or a box of cake when she was telling someone on the phone to take care of Chris... I just tell myself maybe Claire is taking care of pregnant Jill that time T-T. My heart bleeds for the people of resident evil, specially Chris. I hope one day you get a happy scene (preferably with jill xd)
All RE's characters go through hell, honestly, and doesn't get enough of happiness, especially Chris, I agree. I honestly consider that Jill and Chris are together too, like, it's canon for me, and that idea for Claire and the red box is a nice idea, hope it would be true, though I would like to see Jill again on the field next to Chris, like before. Anyway, I hope that they will get that scene too one day, really.
It's been more than ten years since Capcom's director said they don't have anything romantic. I think if they were a couple, they would have done something during those years. As much as I wish it was canon, both will never happen and it's frustrating to look forward to it. And they're making Chris a lone wolf, and after so many deaths, I don't think he's going to hold on to anything on earth. Capcom doesn't care about the fans.
