Wow what a difference from the last time I saw that knife! Beautiful work by Chris Reeve. That is the way a company that backs its products is supposed to perform. That's a rare thing these days.
I honestly don't understand people that have items such as a nice knife or a watch that looks like they tied it to the bumper of a jeep and drug it down a gravel road. I mean, I mean, what are they doing to their stuff?
A thought for some feedback as I consider my first Sebenza purchase: the way I look at the true cost of an item is sometimes the difference between acquisition cost and resale value. Because it's possible to so easily refurbish a Chris Reeve Sebenza knife back to very nearly new cosmetics (among many other reasons) - they maintain value. Even if many of those reasons are irrational the knife holds value. If the knife does not meet your expectations it's very easy to reclaim your funds or very nearly. I just sold a Hinderer for very nearly what I paid over one year ago. I'm a lefty and it just wasn't what I was looking for weight wise for an EDC user. I had a hard time parting with it though it was so well made.
That's awesome. Got my large Sebenza 21 with micarta scales 4 months ago LOVE IT. I've seen videos on the spa treatment upon return from others and they looked very good as well.
***** Had it for a year and I love it. Took it apart recently and applied the CR floro grease and it's even smoother than before which is hard to believe. The lock up is still early (about 35-40%) and I love it better each day. Feels very good in the hand. I open/close it many times a day even when watching TV. Highly recommend it.
Thank you for responding. I am happy to hear you still like it. I have a local knife shop that has them in stock, so I'm going to go see one and get a feel in person. I am very excited!
Good question. From what I have heard things have changed at CRK. So the short answer is I don't know. but their website list the services they offer and the fees. I will go there next.
At that time Spa treatment was free. Sharpening was also free. they did charge me for washers and pivot collar which ended up being like $1.25. They sent back the old parts. I believe now they charge for sand blasting the scales. But sharpening is still free. Of course you pay the shipping to get the knife to Idaho.
Got my 21 with the enigma (Puzzle piece) 21 today it's much stouter then i was expecting plus i got a Marfoine DOC strider ..I can't stop playing with it :)
i tried to do a video, but it was 50 minutes long. turned into a rant on CRK, and spine whack tests, Some consider useful ..i just think its abuse .. a CRK isn't a hammer and isn't made to split wood. its a cutting tool ..: That Marfione\strider DOC is like having a Lamborghini jeep in your pocket. A cross between a HUMVEE and a Bugatti Varon
Its entertainment brother. He makes his vids and gives his advice. If anyone chooses to follow his word or recommendation its up to them. I have picked up a thing or two from that dude. He ain't the devil.lol
