I find the “boob reload” to be much more lewd (in a good way :) ) than Kirika’s transformation. At least the reload was put to better use than it was in that old anime, Grenadier I believe it was called.

Not all Gaming It’s all about perspective; more guns doesn’t mean better than BIGGER guns. :p For the record though, there are plenty of shots of Chris easy on the eyes here. They’re just not done on a scythe used as a stripper pole.

I think at least one of her character CD songs was sung fully in English. That quick walk by scene though was perfection. Shows how comfortable they are as a team and the real friendship built over time. If Chris' arc for this season is tied to whatever happens with Hibiki and Miku then I'd be thrilled.

@@Flaris Maria had the only full English song as far as I know. Chris does have a lot of English phrases in her songs though.

@@Evilmon2 What's funny is that Ayahi is the only member of the cast that can actually decently speak english with any fluency. She even has songs she fully sings in english in some of her albums and has the ability to make most sounds needed for speaking the language well. Meanwhile Maria is the only girl with a full song in english despite the fact Hikasa(bless her heart, she is great literally everywhere else) can't speak it to save her life and DARK OBLIVION is mocked relentlessly even by the Japanese fanbase

Her VA, Ayahi Takagaki, is very fluent in English. You should hear her cover of "True Colors" or "Memory". She's fantastic!

I can't wait for the eventual OVA scene where she's watching that. She's really upping her style points this season.

Apparently a part of a symphogear’s power comes from the basic nature of the Relic as well as the imagination of the user, its why Chris has so many more weapons vs the other girls since she’s got a looser interpretation of her Relic: Ichival is a bow that multiplies the arrows it shoots X10, which Chris interprets as a projectile weapons for large scale attacks & mowing down armies.

The Symphogear creators struck gold with the idea that the characters would actually sing their own battle songs, and not like Disney singing where it's just part of the genre but by making it an actual plot device. There's something so absurdly satisfying about hearing them sing their songs, interspersed with vocal stress from fighting, allowing for extra characterization during the fight scenes from the lyrics alone. It also blows the hype sky-high where possible; I've noticed that Symphogear fights are just way more engaging than other battle anime fights, not only because of the characters and creative combat but because of the songs which match their movements. It also makes moments like the fight where Carol returns in XV SO GOOD and engaging. What better way to show how peerless a character is in combat than to have her sing confidently about how much better she is than her enemies while obliterating them without even moving from where she stands? And the transformation sequences are like the icing on the cake. Honestly it's incredible how good Symphogear is despite how asspully and at times weak the writing can be (cough season 3).

Before I watched this I could safely say that the Lyrical Nanoha had the best and most detailed transformation sequences I've seen so far but they just can't compare to the transformations of XV where every single one is just a love letter to the character. They still come relatively close though for me ^^

Once I saw her pull out her Gatling guns and start shooting at Hibiki I was like "Ok you're my favorite" and since then as her arsenal grew I found her to be more and more awesome.

There's an extra/chibi clip where Genjuro lends her the movie and she wants to see more. I'm honestly surprised we haven't got an homage scene yet with all of Hibiki's martial arts bits.

I love how these small details just spill over like this. Can I just gush about how pleasantly ridiculous the whole "It's ok, I saw this on tv" and the Utazukin thing are btw? From the keynotes, this is canon: Utazukin, in-universe, is a manga *sponsored by the UN* made to explain the magical girls jumping around Tokyo randomly at any given time because they honestly think people like this biker are at all likely to think Chris and Hibiki are just really dedicated cosplayers. Chris used to cringe at the series because 1-it's basically propaganda and 2-It's loosely based on her, but her friends in school love the series, so she gave it a shot and loved it, to the point her B song in her AXZ CD is the opening song for this supposed anime. Her incorporating an anime reference would imply to me much like Hibiki becoming getter 3 in XV episode 1 that Chris and Hibiki have started watching anime, as they are the only girls who seem to directly get power from watching TV, due to their closeness to Genjuro(which is kinda sad considering Tsubasa is his niece and doesn't seem to have the same ability). I kinda want them to touch on this in the OVAs Also, a toast to the UN for making the protagonist of the coverup manga be based on Chris. Chris is internationally recognized as best girl, you heard it here first.

@@PrisonMike196 it is just so stereotypically 'anime' in the best way possible, for starters its a fusion of mecha, magical girl and idol shows, all genres which are pretty much exclusive to anime, and then just everything about it like the crazy action sequences and the name of their moves showing up in dramatic glitzy text and stuff, it is just the best example of a show that could only exist as anime and not in any other medium in my opinion

I was thinking that was a possibility with the "condition green" portion of the transformation sequences we've seen. Since they did lose Ignite it isn't crazy to presume they are getting something to cover for that later this season. Or just because of planning. Chris' character CD is released next week and maybe the story next episode doesn't lead perfectly into a Chris focused fight/transformation sequence. So they put it in this week along with Shirabe because that worked well enough.

Actually, due to time constraints for broadcasting+some production issues, Chris and Kirika got incomplete sequences(if you notice, they don't have that portion of the sequence where their clothes burst into light in front of the philosopher stone). They will get their full versions done for either future episodes or the BDs, the production team said. Given that, I kinda doubt they worked into another sequence, since they couldn't even finish Kirika's. Also, this time around the transformation sequences are extra long and chock full of references because each of them was planned out by a different member of staff, the biggest fan of the given girl in the team. I kinda feel like making another one would be a slap in the face of the poor Chris fan or Shirabe fan who made it Chris', to me, is one of the best so far. It's shock full of references to Symphogear itself(reflective shields, Chris armor purging, "BANG!") and has a god damn grenadier reference. Grenadier is equally about boobs and guns, it's so perfect I am ashamed I never thought of it.

Its worth the watch there are 4 seasons before this one but one sticking or break point for alot of people the the amount of singing i personal enjoy the singing but not everyone does

Google "streamable symphogear ax radiant force no spoiler" and "streamable symphogear axz resounding infinity" for some hype scene that will definitely get you hooked.
