It's actually the effort you put into something or someone you love. To say someone without struggle is someone without soul would be very wrong.. it's a characteristic.... the fact you don't understand that, shows you don't possess it.
@@dlaliberte5633 1st off, never did i state in my comment I had soul. This is my opinion..reasons for my opinion is if you look at some of the most soulful artis they grew up with hardships! James brown, Ray Charles, etta James, Alicia keys, marvin gay, smokey Robinson Jr! All grew up with hardships and poverty.
I sincerely hope you fall down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole! Here are some more songs to check out and hopefully react to... "I Was Wrong" (live at Austin City Limits) "Sometimes I Cry" (live Acoustic at Bing Lounge) "Man's World" "Fire Away" (Official Video) "Tennessee Whiskey/Drink You Away" feat. Justin Timberlake live at CMAs 2015. "Barely Alive" "Either Way" "Death Row" "What Are You Listening To" "Nobody's Lonely Tonight" "Whiskey and You" (live at Tiny Desk Concerts) "More Of You" feat. Morgane Stapleton (live at Tiny Desk Concerts)
I knew there was something familiar with the song. I just couldn't pin point it til I read this. The cassette tapes in my childhood home which included various country and classic rock albums were already too damaged to be played when I was in middle school so it has already been more than ten years since I heard DAC's Tennessee whiskey
Shiloh.... Another performance of Chris’ you’ll enjoy is “I was wrong” (Austin City Limits). There are many different clips he’s put out that I think you’ll love but that one is just a suggestion for you 🇦🇺✌️😎👍🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️
I think that version is great, and certainly has a great instrumental after the point where the live version ends, but the way the live version ends is really cool to me. I love the sound of that little musical scale he does with his voice at the end, with the word "wrong," the way it steps down and just drops off abruptly and ends. I think that's kind of lost in the live version, because the listener is immediately distracted by more music, rather than being left hanging on that last little run.
Brooks and Dunn, I Belive. It is the singer of the song (Ronnie Dunn) real life story of a man he grew up with. Ronnie his self was going into the minisitry before he went into singing. Truly an amazing song and the video makes it so much better.
Certainly a great song, but I've seen no evidence of it being a true story. Many many people have made that claim, but when I ask, no one can provide me with any evidence supporting it.
Chris Stapleton is far and beyond country. He's done many songs that could easuly cross over to any music genre. Although he's not the first to do this song, his rendition is by far the best. Also, love your channel... Shiloh, you provide a well received service to music lovers and give some great reviews that compel me to listen to music I might never have. Thanks for helping me broaden my music appreciation.
"his rendition is by far the best" Although I hold the same opinion you do, they're still just an opinions. "Chris Stapleton is far and beyond country. He's done many songs that could easuly cross over to any music genre." This is not unique to Chris. Many country singers, as well as many singers from other genres, have done songs that cross over into different genres.
I absolutely liked. I wish we could find more in common with our fellow man then what separates us. amazing video and ty for listening to an amazing artist.
I must say ma'am you are drop dead gorgeous! Seriously WOW! Obviously Chris Stapleton is just on another level. Once in a lifetime talent without a doubt.
Love this song and Chris S. DJ is very attractive too and she doesn’t interrupt, but show with her facial expressions the feelings for the performance.
I do not follow country songs all that much, but I know some are very soulful. In fact, Ray Charles often found inspiration in them and there has been a lot of mutual interaction between the two types of music. This seems like one of the best. I have never heard this one before and I thank you for your review.
Good for you for checking out new genres. You never know when you will stumble into greatness. I'm in the camp that believes Chris has a great voice and a great soulful/bluesy sound.
Chris is married with 5 children. His wife is singing with him. Chris has written songs for other artists for many years. He has New album Starting Over, Nov 2020.
Shiloh, that was so cool to watch ! I watched you FEEL that music ! It was the same reaction I had when I heard it. I love the blues and I got that kind of vibe off of it. Thanks for sharing, it was fun !
I'm in awe of your BEAUTY!!!! Not being thirsty, just giving a true compliment, YOU ARE GEORGOUS!!!! As for the song, Chris Stapleton is awesome, his song "Deathrow" is very powerful too!!!
Chris has a smooth voice, In my best days, David Allen Coe, did this song, that touches my memories, and winds itself around essences of my youth. Before the past decade; when life still has sweetness & smiles, before my Siblings, "Ruined My Life", JUST as they did Swore they would... As They Promised, if I ever talked of their child-abuse on me. Music has kept me on the path of my Father. Thank You!
Country, Gospel, Blues, R&b, R&R = when it's right, it's all soul music. If you're not uplifted, let it go. That does'n't mean you can't have a good cry. Sometimes you have to. Peace & thank you.
Since everyone is posting other Stapleton songs, I thought I'd give you the origins of this song... First off, George Jones (you can find plenty of hits), he's got one of the biggest ranges in country music ever. This song was also covered by David Allan Coe (don't get to deep or you might be offended) he's a crazy old piece of shit, but he writes and sings like nobody else. Which brings us to this, Christ Stapleton. Amazing song writer and singer. This is as good as it gets vocally, but listen to the others tho!
First off, you’re drop dead beautiful. If you told me you were a model I’d 1000% believe you lol. As for other Chris Stapleton songs, I’d recommend Parachute and/or I was wrong. He has many great songs but those two are some of my favorite. Also, I see you do rock too. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Blind Melon but they were a band from the 90’s. They’re still around but the original lead singer, Shannon Hoon, died in 1995, which was only a few years after they became big. They had many great songs but they didn’t seem to get the recognition that I believe they truly deserved. Not many people have reacted to their videos so you might be able to garner some more views if you do. No Rain was their mainstream hit so if you consider doing them then I’d start off with that since people are more familiar with it. Change, Galaxie, Mouthful of Cavities, Skinned (based off Ed Gein, the serial killer who was the inspiration for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies), Toes Across the Floor, Candy Says (Live), St Andrews Hall (written about a young woman that Shannon saw commit suicide by jumping from a building in Detroit. There was about two hundred people in the streets watching and some of them were yelling at her to jump which she ultimately did. Like most of his songs, this one had a deep meaning to it), Paper Scratcher, Time, Vernie, and All That I Need are some of their best songs. He had a unique voice, and was truly talented. For every great artist who has died young, there is a large group of people who seek to revel in times past. I was only three days old when he died, so it’s hard for me to really do such but I’ve shown them to my friends of all colors and they seem to really enjoy their music. I truly think that a few reviews on them could be a homerun for you, and hey, you never know, you may even have a new favorite band lol. Anyways, don’t ever give up with what you’re doing, and keep up the grind! You’ll be at a million subs in no time!
Girl, I am so much in love with Chris Stapleton voice! Though I mainly perform Tina Turner's music, I became so intoxicated by Chris Stapleton's voice, I have started performing the song myself, on my Tina Turner days of! Lol!The song has been a big hit for me with my fans.I could never measure up to Chris' version, but I gave it my best shot! Funny, fact, is that I don't drink any alcohol at all, period, so I try to act out and sing this song as though I do! I love his voice and his stage presence madly! Check out his song," Millionaire," its a winner too!
Everything Chris Stapleton touches is beyond great he doesn't sing no bad song he is his own category so just pick any thing he does and buckle up and he is better live keep going down this rabbit hole
Hi Shiloh, I am a 67 year-old black, great grandmother, from Indianapolis Indiana, who loves country music. My radio stays on our country channel but if you want to hear some more slamming country music check out Brett Young he's got four or five of them I really like but I think he has 10 number one top hits... you should really check him out he's bad. Thomas Rhett also has some really nice music the last record he's put out lately. I believe he's talking to his daughter about his wife. If you take a few days and just listen to a good country channel and listen to the songs by the men, I mean really listen to the songs and how the majority of them speak of their women, wives, and girlfriends you'll start loving country too.
Hi Judy, thanks for that 😊 I appreciate you tuning in and offering these great suggestions, I will definitely check them out. I haven’t heard of those ones yet however I have listened to a lot of Jason Aldean , and Sam hunt , also a bit of Carrie Underwood especially when the song “Heartbeat” came out. Boy I played that song day and night. I’ve noticed there’s always a good story told in the music. 💕👏 so I’ll go check the ones you’ve told be about now ☺️
@@SincerelyShiloh something you said in reply to me Shiloh reference the stories. That is definitely true because I felt most country songs tell stories and they're usually love stories about real life situations, heartaches heartbreaks break ups... and it lets people entertainers can have issues in their life too. I can't wait to take my grandson's correction great-grandsons to Nashville because I turn them on to this music about 3 years ago... and they love to sing along.
2 other Chris Stapleton songs I highly recommend… watch the video for his song Fire Away. Make sure you pull up your box of Kleenex. Also, his live version of Tennessee Whiskey … at the CMA awards, with Justin Timberlake. Absolutely phenomenal performance. For me, it's the greatest live performance at an awards show, in the history of televised awards shows.
I actually ran across this song in March of 2020 searching for a different ringtone...needless to say it's been my ringtone till this day and probably will be for the rest of the year...this song is quite touching
Y'all have to forgive me this is my first time ever hearing this song and I must say oh my God this is one of the best songs I have ever heard this is a song that you let your lady know how I feel about you where you brought me from where you push me to this is amazing
I really like that you don't stop the video to tell us something. Yes we love the song that's way we recommended it. What we really want is to see your reaction. Tell us what you think after the vids over. Thanks for letting me enjoy the whole song with you. Welcome to Country. I think your going to line it.
I love Chris Stapleton.. Here's another country artist worth giving a listen to, Jamey Johnson.. In Color is amazing but my personal favorite is, The High Cost of Living..
