Definitely about mental health. He was a police office, moved into a house with his love. Dealt with her mental issues, and tried his best to be there. Chris was actually the bar tender if you noticed, pouring his liquor for him. Even watching Chris Stapleton in concert doing this song,,,its emotional.

Chris wrote this song and did it this way to bring light to mental illness. It appears that the girlfriend/wife is bipolar and/has mental illness (suicide). This video was a tough one!

My daughter and I both struggle with PTSD from my first husband. Demons are real. As an adult, I can handle it better (after 5 years, I am still learning ways to heal..i.e shadow work) because I now understand what happened and can separate myself from it. She's 11. She became a cutter last Thanksgiving and we had to baker act her. Her father cared so much about it, he took his new family on vacation the day after she got out...a longer drive than it would have taken to see her. How, as an 11 year old, do you deal with that. This song, reminds me of my now husband. That man has been a gift with the patience of Job. We all have demons, but it's how we deal with them that matters. Thank you for the laughs in between. I had my ugly cry face (it hurts to see your old self, even when healing), so why not add ugly cry laugh face. Awesome as always. Peace and Love.

Being a suicide prevention operator ive learned you can't save someone that lives to die. You can get lucky and catch a few today but they could be back at their attempts tomorrow. You win some you lose some.

When the girl was showing her butt at the cookout, she wasn’t drunk I don’t think. I think she’s bipolar and was having a fit! The only person I saw drinking was the guy when he went to the bar and was doing shots.

A part of me feels jealous of people who don’t immediately understand what’s going on in the video 😔 Unfortunately I recognize her struggles all too well.

in the early 80's we had a singer, Bob Seger, who sang almost EXACTLY like Chris. He didn't have the song repertoire but the voice's are identical!!!

One watch and y’all got my sub! You were able to bring some humor to the reaction while letting your emotions show. I battle depression daily and it is an exhausting battle. Looks like she was bipolar and that is just such a sad, heart wrenching disease. Thank you for focusing on the absolute love he had for her. Also, you’re exactly right…us women are impossible to argue with. I’ll let you in on a little secret- when you give in and stop arguing that makes us crazy so we will continue to remind you that we are right and all knowing for days. And we do remember EVERYTHING! We can tell you the exact date, time and location you did something “wrong.” Thanks for a great reaction!
