Chris Stapleton is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer. As of 2018, Stapleton has amassed credits writing and co-writing over 170 songs.He has co-written six number-one country songs including Kenny Chesney's five-week number-one "Never Wanted Nothing More", Josh Turner's "Your Man", George Strait's "Love's Gonna Make It Alright", and Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer".His songs have appeared on many artists albums including Adele, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley. He has co-written with several artists as well including Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran. Stapleton has been recognized with several awards including five Grammy Awards, seven Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, and ten Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. As a vocalist, Stapleton sang lead in two bands before he started recording as a solo artist including a bluegrass ensemble from 2008 to 2010 called The SteelDrivers and The Jompson Brothers. After that, he released his solo debut: the critically acclaimed studio album titled Traveller (2015), which reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second studio album From A Room: Volume 1 was released in May 2017, and earned him a second CMA Award for Album of the Year and also a Grammy Award for Best Country Album. From A Room: Volume 2 was released in December 2017.

Heard him in an interview speaking about this song. He said he was having a writing session with 2 other men and one of them kept telling them about the troubles that he and his wife were having. At one point, he stopped, and said.."but I tell you fellas, I got nobody to blame but me"! Stapleton threw up his handles and said"that's our song right there"!...and so it was😊

I love Chris Staplteon, right now I am learning every one of his solos with my teacher. I love the sound of the Jazz masters pickups but I just cant get conforable with playing one. I have been doing this ever since I heard Tennessee Whiskey and its made me a better guitar player. I just want people to know to play the guitar like he does and sing at the same time is very hard. I almost gave up on country so I am glad that he became more than just a song writer in Nashville. He is a true talent!

Covers or original songs you cannot tell with Chris because he owns them all. He doesn't copy! Just listen to the change ups as he plays. He carries a rhythm then plays his own solo without making us tired of a repeating tone that becomes obnoxious. Most times his solo is singing the song with his guitar if you listen closely. Both Tennessee Whiskey and Nobody To Blame were written by Chris Stapleton. Believe it or not, Chris was actually a song writer in Nashville for years and YEARS before he began performing with various bands - from bluegrass (The SteelDrivers) to rock (The Jompson Brothers). If you really like Stapleton's soulful voice - check out his work with The SteelDrivers (exp. Blue Side of the Mountain) -- seriously, it will blow your mind !! I have heard from reliable sources that Chris literally has 100s of unpublished songs from his very productive early writing days. Just an amazing guy - whether it is singing, writing songs or guitar playing or his incredible ear for what SOUNDS right - there seems to be no end to the man's talent. Love your classy demeanor and your review done so eloquently with curse words strung together. You should react to "Cold" next. It shows his versatility in other realms of music yet stays true to himself and his unique sound .
