Chris is happily married with five children. His wife often sings harmony with him on that stage. I’ve asked myself the same question. How does he write such beautiful songs and songs with all these different topics when he is clearly happy. Do you know why? Because he has a God given talent for singing, playing that guitar and writing music!

Barely Alive live, it's amazing. Also, his live rendition of When A Man Loves A Woman. Soooo good. There are moments in that video where he's not even next to the mic, and it doesn't even matter. Soooo good. Also, the band he performed with had never performed with him before (they had invited him to join them) and you can watch them all just drooling over Chris's voice. I’m barely a country music fan, so I’m listing my favorites from that perspective. Most crossed over onto pop stations when I first heard them. Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson for early renegade country, Home Free for a capella country/everything else (my favorites), Toby Keith for humor, Johnny Cash because he’s Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline for soulful excellence. My list is short but these are the greats!

He's so humble and effortless too. I saw him live just before Covid and he rarely spoke between songs (some artists do lots of talking for fan fair and to seem cool). He "spoke" once to sing out amazing introductions for each member of his band and once he full blown stopped playing because his guitar was out of tune. His wife looked at him with a smile and he said "well, these people paid good money and they don't want to hear me play a guitar out of tune. Hold on" it was such a normal moment and so amazing

Try the acoustic version of ' Barely Alive or Tiny Desk Concert 'More of You.' If you would like to check out some more country talent, check out Home Free. They are a country acapella group( no instruments). They are classified as country but do all genres of music check out their cover of ' Man of Constant Sorrow' or their cover of Boys 2 Men's song of ' End of the Road'. Chris has a great wife, Morgane. He used to only write for others, but she convinced him to sing his own songs, too. She sings with him most of the time. You would not know he was a clean cut, calss President, jock & valedictorian in high school, but his friends said he sang like this, even then!!!

I believe Chris has the same beautiful power to bring all.people together like the Beatles did..he's an amazing talent who reaches all genres. Him and Carlos Santanas song joy is great..he has duets with pink..Sheryl crow..Ed Sheran with Bruno mars..he's amazing
