i hadn't heard of him until this year 2021! I watched the grammy's one year and he won all these awards, and I thought who is this guy? I have been listening to country music for most of my life and didn't know who he was. A couple of songs i had heard on the radio.
Chris's single "What are you listening to" released yesterday. Call your radio station and ask for them to play it in their rotation. Chris & Morgane deserve for it to be a hit.....the best talent in Nashville.
It seemed like Chris came out of nowhere a few years back, so people thought he was a overnight success! Chris paid his dues for many a year, most of his newer fans never knew about the 25 folks at a steakhouse gigs!

I think people are bashing the establishment more that Chesney directly. I am seeing a shift in music and I think people are getting tired of the falseness of country music and are hungry for something real. Ameripolitan and Americana is starting to break down the barriers and artists like Chris and Dale Watson are starting to get more of the recognition they deserve. Music is art not a fashion show.
I waited such a long time for this man to finally get acknowledged. His time with the Steeldrivers and the Jompson brothers, and videos like these was what kept me waiting. Finally in 2015 when he and Timberlake showed these other pop artists (they are NOT country artists) how country really sounds, I was really glad. And that Grammy award on top of that, well, that's just great! He is going to be one of the greats!

Travis is amazing. Chris is similar. I can take or leave Kenny Chesney. He's not a great singer, but he often picks (and sometimes writes) great songs & this was a big hit for him. Love it-radio friendly though it may be.
