February 14, 2013 - Valentines Day at the Station Inn in Nashville. Chris is joined by Jimmy Stewart on dobro, JT Cure on bass, and Ronnie Bowman on guitar singing "The Thrill is Gone."
Everybody always labels Chris a country singer. He does perform country, and has written several country hits for other artists, but the steeldrivers were a blue grass band. You can hear so much blues in his voice in like 90% of his stuff. Hearing him take on a song by the king of all blues made my night. You’ve done him proud Chris old boy
This guy is a Triple threat just like Haggard. He writes great songs, He sing better than 90% of all Country artists and he plays a mean guitar. What's not to like? I'm big fan.
+Joe Myers well he is no country. he blues. that's like comparing actual music to shit. remember country stole blues and bluegrass. and rock did at first then it became its own thing. blues has stayed constant and modern with the times while these others gave way to demons like pop and rap. RIP bb king.
It's the difference between a fake computer musician in it for the money verse a real true musician like Chris Stapleton who puts his heart and soul into his music whether is going to make a money or not
RJ there are many fakes but only a few true artists, which is true for virtually all genres from country to pop to rock Stapleton is a true one, his concert which was scheduled in my town for July was another casualty of COVID-19. Who knows when the stars will line up as again?I'm not going to my grave before I hear him live ..I missed out on Tom Petty, GeorgeJones and Prince, but was able to see Merle Haggard, I’ve got Willie Nelson in the bank he’s getting very old. Stapleton id
In 2019, I stumbled into the station in for the first time, during my first ever visit to Nashville from Toronto. I saw a really great five piece Bluegrass group. I can’t imagine seeing Chris Stapleton on that tiny stage in that tiny room. What a treat that’d be.
at a glance i think people wouldnt pick up on just how talented this dude is. i LOVED BB King, cried when he passed (truth) happy to run across this tribute. thanks Chris
And blues and jazz made what music is and always have shows that in this life everyone has music involved into the life make America better again no trump!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CAT! He's a bad mother fucker for real. Sings beautifully, rocks the hell out on the guitar AND writes amazing songs. WOW, what special gifts he has been blessed with.
Absolutely love this song- never get tired of hearing it. Thought real country music was dead in water until Chris Stapleton came along. His wife Morgan is a great singer also.
Simply amazing. I am blown away by his voice, his lyrics, and his ability to successfully pull from various genres. He is one of the few artists that I feel the raw emotion when he sings. Damn. 🙌
Same for me, I love southern rock and the blues, Chris Stapleton is th real deal, and didn't even know about him, I hate to say it, but he may be as good or better than BB on the voice part. Big fan!
I love Chris but why do we have to rate him higher than BB. Let's just enjoy the art. I'm a black girl hooked on good music and have been loving country for a couple of years now. Seems like I the only one
....dude, possibly one of the best finds of *ALL TIME* !! I don't know (or really care 😉), but if he could bust a move, I'd have to chase him down and *MARRY HIM** !! Wink, Wink! 😉😉😉 I'm sure Morgane Stapleton would be having *NONE* of that, LoL!! 😂😂😂

I've known Chris since his Johmpson Brothers days, which were incredible! Not only is he a great vocalist, and not only is he a great musician, but he also always surrounds himself with great musicians. I knew this guy was gonna be a star the first time I saw him and he still doesn't let get to his head and he stays true! Incredible! Big props my man.

Trevor 1984 ha ha he could speak German backwards drunk as hell and read the ingredients off. ahamburger helper box and it would blow away. uh me of course$$$$$$
Chris Stapleton ... Every song you sing you make it a true masterpiece . Proud of your Kentucky roots. It makes me proud to also hear you also put the blues sound in all your tunes. B.B would be smiling .
This is awesome. I've been following Chris since The Steeldrivers. Such a powerful voice. Not sure who the three knuckleheads were who disliked this video.
+Matt Hooper Well he's been in Nashville 14 yrs! It's about time. (He's actually won many ASCAP awards for songwriting hits for others, like Drink a Beer for Luke Bryan & Never Wanted Nothing More for Kenny Chesney but CMA awards are quite different! He's the hottest ticket in Nashville right now.)

Yes... a man who had wanted to stay in the background and just "write" for others..... Stepping into the spotlight was not easy, but with Morganne and the kids he was finally grounded and ready to shine. And we are the ones blessed.
I can’t be the only here after hearing him play it live on Kimmel… It’s sweet that he wrote this song for her when they were so young and all these years later it is exposed to the masses.
This guy is the real deal, country music needs more Chris Stapleton, too many “all hat & no cattle” pop/county acts out there! Seen him, his wife and their band on their first trip to Canada, I hope they keep coming back! In a time where image and gimmicks are placed above substance and talent, it’s sure refreshing to see someone like Chris Stapleton come along that can write, play and sing!👍🎸🇨🇦

Well proof positive that a natural born singer can pull it off without auto tone and technical enhancement, frills, bells and whistles. You gotta know that when all of the above is being used it is because the voice just isn't there. LB, and the rest of them could not do what Chris is doing. Thanks Chris for getting us back to the basics of what a true artist is.

I get chills listening to Chris Stapleton sing!! He is the best country blues singer I've heard since I was a young child!! Love this mans voice and soul!!
OMG..... .....i've listened to country music, blues and rock n roll and this man's voice is just raw, real, and just so unbelievably beautiful.... I'm sooooo glad country music has someone like you now to represent it WOW is all I can say Saw you in concert up front and close... .....you are a legend in your own time
And write and live in a humble way... a genius who doesn't act like one...... because what he is is GRATEFUL ...to have and to use what he has been given......to bless others.
Best in the business. If you ever get a chance to see him live, (especially with the Jompson Brothers) DO IT! I have been blessed to see them live three times and they get better every time. Chris' talent is mind blowing.

Sheri, don't fall for this fake CS. The real one doesn't need to solicit his fans. And he certainly wouldn't lure you into private contact. Catfish attempt.
I am in love, he is outstanding such a voice full of soul, he sure is a whole lot more than just country music 🎶, I am not kidding I love him, what a hunk of man.
