His singing partner is his wife, Morgane. She is a brilliant singer/songwriter in her own right, as well.

Chris has a wealth of different types of music. His musical influences are from all over. I would suggest, "Cold" live from the 2021 Country Music Awards (CMAs) in your next step down the rabbit the hole. He has over 170 songwriting credits to his name for other artists, not just country. He was in a bluegrass band called, "Steeldrivers" and a rock band called, "Jompson Brothers." His wife convinced him to step out on his own as an artist and he blew up after his appearance at the 2015 CMAs with Justin Timberlake, where they sang Tennessee Whiskey and Drink You Away together. (That's a whole separate vibe.) He can sing anything, and does. He has collabs out there with H.E.R., P!nk, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran/Bruno Mars, Jennifer Hudson, Carlos Santana, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift ... and on and on. He also has a cover of "Nothing Else Matters" on Metallica's 30th anniversary album, Blacklist. Whatever you find from him, you can't go wrong reacting to it. Always do his live performances (as long as they're not from someone's cell phone) with the exception of "Fire Away," which has a beautifully produced video/mini-movie that underscores the message of mental health awareness. No, country claims him, but his IS his own genre.

Call it whatever you want but it is a bit of heaven.
