I've decided just now after listening to this song and watching him sing it,that as far as I'm concerned Chris Stapleton is the best singer song writer of all time. Some may think that's a stretch... But they're wrong.
One of my favourite songs. Check out 10 year old Taj Farar cover this, in I think, his debut vocal. His depth of feeling for his age is amazing, and he has such good taste in the music he plays.
I’ve seen Chris Stapleton twice and I have yet to hear him sing that song Live! I believe he sang it the night before Aug 9 2024 in Nashville,Tennessee and I saw him on Aug 10. I will keep showing up and one day hopefully I will hear him sing it Live, it one of my old time favorite. The people in the studio should all feel honored to sit that close and hear him! Mr. Stapleton 👏 Bravo ❤
I’ve played guitar since about 9 yrs. old, played in bands and sang. As you can imagine I’m very particular about the music I listen to. Chris has a sound that doesn’t just please my ears, it gets inside of me, stirs up emotions. It just down right moves me! He’s definitely one of a kind! Now if you’ll excuse me I need to pull my self together after listening to” What are you listening to” for the 10th time this morning. It brings back some powerful memories

There's no one in the Country Music business as good as Chris . He's brought back "REAL" Country Music again ! He's like a Waylon, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash. @@mikebeasley6447agree!!! I used to hate country music but I heard him sing & then perform I was in awe...I was hooked! I really love the blend of instruments especially those rare musicians that blow peoples ears. Chris sing with jus guitar is genuine touch & its good 2 c that he's gotten success.
I've got the biggest crush on this man's sound and the goosebumps it gives me. I just can't stop listening. What a gift all of us have been given. In this day and age seeing artists of this Calibre just does not happen. He's epic, authentic, legendary. And making a fool out of all these so called artists they shove down our throats. He shows us the real thing.
Keep looking for some of his other songs. He is definitely COUNTRY but he is so much more. His voice transcends genres. Just because he can sing ROCK & ROLL R & B BLUEGRASS. AND POP DOESN'T MEAN HE CAN'T SING COUNTRY! HE CAN SING ANYTHING HE WANTS AND DO IT WELL. I SAY JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY.

Most people have no idea how hard it is to simply sit down with a guitar and knock it out of the park. Chris is overflowing with talent on so many levels. Every time a musician plays an original tune they are exposing nearly every vulnerability of their personality, as well as the scars of their life. Few rival Chris.

"Sometimes I Cry" helps me move on through the death of my Wm H Trevillion IV, #53, Tx State Unversity, earlier this year on 6 Jan 2016. So now I can listen to the beauty of the words and miss him with just as much intensity.. i know this wasn't your original intent for this song but thanks Chris.
For the last 44 years on this planet, I have been an R & B(old school), Reggae, and Soul, Oldies But Goodies Devotee... But, this song... smh... it has to be one of the most beautiful love songs(the best of which, tell a story) I've ever heard... and CS voice is absolutely A-MAZING!!! WoW... this is the epitome of PURE TALENT. Some today's music is ever-so-lacking... Just beautiful!!!

Romantic nostalgia harmless tune until the line about “someone new”, and you realize the depth of obsession and jealousy that the song is really helping people deal with. Going crazy not knowing….if he knew which song he would know everything and be able to stop inventing stuff in his head. That is how powerful music is.
