Bald guy on guitar is Kenny Greenberg. Great guitarist and great head for music in general. The young fellow who did the amazing slide work is Justin Schipper. Kenny often puts these groups of musicians together for these type of performances, and he said Schipper was amazing on pedal steel, slide, acoustic, whatever. Kenny also called him his "secret weapon." The bass player is the great "Wee" Willie Weeks who's played with the likes of the Doobie Brothers, Steve Winwood, and these days he's often on tour as Eric Clapton's bassist.
The gentleman playing with the glass slide was in a rock band with Chris Stapleton called The Jompson Brothers. You guys should react to them. I think y’all would dig it. My Grandpa would play slide with a glass Coke bottle way back in the day.
Fun Facts........ In a 1974 concert in Helsinki, Finland, an audience member repeatedly disrupted a Frank Zappa performance by shouting a request for "Whipping Post." Zappa responded by playing a version of his song "Montana", where he altered the lyrics with references to whipping posts. (This incident was eventually captured on his You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 2 live album, released in 1988.) In 1981, Zappa's band learned "Whipping Post" and added it to their repertoire, since the band's new singer and keyboard player Bobby Martin knew the song and sang the lead vocals on it. Zappa released a version of the song on the 1984 album Them or Us; a live recording of the song featuring Frank's son Dweezil Zappa on lead guitar was released in 1986 on the Does Humor Belong in Music? album, while a different version appeared in the associated video. Zappa also included a live solo from this song on Guitar with the title "For Duane". In the released versions, Bobby Martin also used the closing line "there just ain't no such thing as dyin'" that Allman had sung on ABC In Concert.
Listening to this over the years, I could tell this was in an uncommon time signature so I looked it up on Google. I thought maybe 5/4. 11/8 (3-3-3-2). Damn.
Probably the best cover I've seen of Whipping Post. Agree with some other comments about checking out Derek Trucks if you enjoyed that guitar. Saw him play with the Allman Brothers when he was 20 yo. He's 42 now and is soooo good.

Chris does a great job vocally (obviously), but the band he is with just ain't the same as having Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks on those guitar solos.
Their is a newer artist I am hoping you will react to. She is 14 years old with the voice of an Angel. Her new song is called Dandelion. It's about a small Dandelion [ Girl } trying to grow up in the forest surrounded by tall trees, { Grown ups } She grows because she believes in herself and as she gets older her seeds create more Dandelions. There’s a rule of thumb when it comes to a cover song. To be a success it must be better than the original. That standard in mind, this was a failure. No one can improve on the Allman Brothers, period. Nice try though. ✌🏻
