stapleton is a bit more fine tuned and very soulful, even tho yeah cornell was too. Got to see audioslave once and cornell put on such an energetic performance, what a stage presence

I close my eyes, and I hear Chris Cornell, alive again and singing. Maybe it's my left coast childhood, but I hear.....not quite Soundgarden, but Chris Cornell's Audioslave years.

He kinda sounds like a mix between Cat Stevens and Glenn Kaiser from Resurrection Band.

Southern rock is a trip, if you like it you'll probably like many of his other songs, especially Cold. Others doing similar stuff in recent times include Whiskey Myers (I'd recommend "Stone," it's a gospel-infused Southern rock sound, or "Gasoline," a more straightforward country rock song), and Turnpike Troubadours ("Gin, Smoke, Lies," is probably their most popular rock-oriented track). There are lots of more punk rock inspired country-adjacent acts from Texas too, like Koe Wetzel (check out "Fuss & Fight," "Forever," or "Creeps") and Treaty Oak Revival ("See you in Court")

Definitely check out his southern rock album for The Jompson Brothers! Every song is a banger

Listen to Lynnerd Skynnerd, the Allman Brothers, the Band etc. if your digging that sound 👍
