In an interview I watched, he did say this was a song he wrote way back when and his wife was not a fan of it. She did warm up to it over eventually and he decided the time was right to put it on an album. He and a co-writer actually wrote it for a western movie (Lone Ranger?), but he didn't say if it was used in the film.

I would give my right you know what to sing like that 🙂 also get a guitar man if you can play don't ever stop and yes you can learn to sing and play at any age. I am 62 and started singing two years ago now I sing about 20 songs and play bass. We just played at out local seniors center for their monthly birthday party its muscle memory and lots of practice.
