@po18guy The SSPX is in an canonically-irregular state but not in schism. Bp Athanasius Schneider has said this about the SSPX. Schneider highlighted that the SSPX continually exhibits “canonical community with the Pope” by praying for Pope Francis during Mass and offering other public prayers for him.

All Catholics DO follow the teachings of Christ. Christ IS the foundation and pillar and heart and soul of the Catholic faith.

@@guillermofranco3635 Hi. Thanks for writing. Do Catholics follow what is written in the Bible? Jesus said, "Ask and you shall receive." Moreover, Jesus said, "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him." That is, salvation is simply knowing God and you meet Him just by asking. That is the beautiful simplicity of the Bible. Yet, you do not faithfully teach the truth. For example: The Apostle Paul: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved Catholic teaching: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall NOT be saved (i.e. baptism, etc. are necessary for salvation). Why do you call Jesus 'Lord,' yet distort the glory of the gospel? I hope that you will make this right. Accursed be anyone who leads people away from the teachings of the Word of God, replacing Christ's words with the traditions of men. The people who perverted the gospel during Jesus' day have been in hell for 2,000 years. Are you going to follow Christ or join them? I encourage you to read the book of Matthew and John - then obey what you read! Stop saying that, "All Catholics DO follow the teachings of Christ" unless you are FOLLOWING the teachings of Christ! I hope that you get to know Christ - just by asking! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

@@kenshiloh Yes, Catholics follow what is written in the Bible. As I already stated, the Bible, the teachings of Jesus, are the cornerstone of Catholicism. No where in our faith does it contradict “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved …”. My Christian brethren, your animosity toward and judgment of Catholicism reveals how little you know about it. Rather than spew hostility, I invite you to listen to Chris and his talk “contagious Catholicism.” Open your heart and listen. And, remember, Jesus also said: Matthew 7, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Your conceptions of the Catholic faith are truly judgmental and misguided.

Second Peter 3.16 reads, " (Paul's) letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction." Who has contradicted Paul's words if not the Catholic church? It matters absolutely zero that the Bible came from Rome. What good is having the Bible if you ignore and distort it to your own destruction? Your thinking seems to be, "Since the Bible was codified in Rome, therefore it is impossible for the church at Rome to ever stray from Biblical teaching." What? How is that even possible? How do you make such an illogical connection? Rome has strayed from the gospel. For example: Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." Rome teaches that whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall NOT be saved unless they are baptized, etc. Who do you suggest I follow: Paul's gospel or yours? Yet, Christ died on a Cross so that, just by asking, we may know Him. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

@@guillermofranco3635 First of all, do I appear hostile? I am your great friend, warning you of false doctrine, of your damnable doctrine. Conversely, if you have truth from the Bible, I am all ears! As it is written, "Rebuke a wise man and he will love you." That said, I have revoked some positions I have held because they were contrary to sound Biblical exegetic. Concerning the gospel, you wrote, "No where in our faith does it contradict “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved …”. Hence, if a person calls upon the Name of the Lord, they shall be saved? If so, then the Catechism is mistaken in saying that baptism (with its exceptions) is necessary for salvation. How do you reconcile these two contradictory points of doctrines, other than denying that there is a contradiction? Paul: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved Rome: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall NOT be saved unless they are baptized (etc.). It is a plain contradiction. May God grant that you will love the truth and obey the gospel before you stand before Him as one who has perverted the purity of the gospel. Again, I do not write out of hate. If I did not care about you, I would let you continue in your rebellion against God. The truth of the Bible is 'ask and you shall receive.' Those are the words of Christ. Call upon the Name of the Lord, that is the beautiful simplicity of the gospel. Christ died on a Cross so that we may know Him - just by asking! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
