I think today we can see that a lot of his bluster is part of the job and deep down you can tell he's a good chat and he's classy here especially at a difficult time
Im gutted we lost, we bottled it im afraid but its so heart warming to see so many leeds fans in here sending their condolences and respect. Tough times, but leeds definitely deserved that win.
Not a Chris Wilder fan, but huge respect to the man for his honest comments about the game..... Hope to see you up there come the end of the season.....👏
I was quite nervous when I saw you’d changed the line up but ultimately I think your players didn’t really turn up, but also our lads were bloody fantastic. Your defence was very good though, and your keeper is class. You’ve got great offensive players too but it looks like they aren’t gelling yet. Either way I don’t want to gloat this time because Sheff U have had a hell of a rough week, and apart from two games of the season, I genuinely wish you all the best. See you next time!
Respect to wilder. We were just the better team on the night. Definitely their toughest game and they were unbeaten for a reason but no excuses from wilder just humble in defeat. ALAW
This is exactly what we were doing in the Premier League last season and it doesn’t work. It looked all too familiar especially that fruitless passing the ball at the back left to right and back again when time was pressing. Leeds pressed us really well. We must learn from this and go to every ground and play our normal game. Tonight Leeds were the better team playing to their strengths and we never got going. Yes they were responsible for a lot of that but we let them come on to us. Against Boro, also a good side, we must go for it. Lose if we must but go for it!
Don't go up you will get eaten alive again, quite boring to watch tbh, that's why I dropped into non league watching.championship is the wannabe and has been league!
@@rogerhampton9614 he knows how to set a team up. Tonight, Leeds had a couple of individuals who were on it, Firpo and Tanaka were very dominant, your midfield didn't get em.
@rogerhampton9614 : Wilder isn't a "moaner". He's an astute and intuitive manager, having had success with other football clubs aswell as the Blades. He's built a significant team of players from limited resources. He tells it how it is, facts and honesty.
I don't mind Wilder he seems a pretty decent guy He occasionally goes over board with his comments but don't we all It's banter and we love our teams I thought tonight's game was pretty poor to be honest There was little quality from either side and never lived up to the billing The Blades looked out of sorts changing their system and never got going They defended well but looked confused what to do when they got possession of it To much emphasis on not losing instead of being brave occasionally Leeds didn't create much either considering the amount of possession we had .If our depleted team can be nar the top of the league with less quality than last year It looks like a weaker league this year Big up to Ramazani Tanaka and Rothwell who put in a shift I can't understand why Farke always takes off our best attacking threat every game
@@faxlouovhx2963 I understand that but some times you have to gamble If they had beat us tonight that would have been big statement and build confidence
I had my doubts the Blades would win because I’ve seen a few Leeds matches and they look very good offensively and the Blades surely wouldn’t carry on doing a Neverlusen. When i saw the starting lineup and the formation I knew the Blades would lose, they changed a winning formula but I understand his reasoning and we all would’ve said it was a stroke of genius had he got a result. The lack of attacking intent was the most disappointing thing when Mellier has been accident prone this season. Hope Blades and Leeds go up as long as the Blades get considerable backing.
Watched this game at the weekend. Was very frustrated about us passing at the back and not being more direct, or running on the ball. A lot of backwards steps. Sakyi should have started. But apart from our frustrations. Leeds took the first goal really well. Very cute finish. Took it brilliantly. No complaints with Leeds, played very well, very fast, very direct. Passed the ball really well. Well played Leeds. It's your season to lose now. It's in your hands. Far better watch than watching Sunderland.
I like that he taks it on his shoulders and doesn't just blame the team and he gave a genuine analysis here. He's hurt from Baldock, you can tell that. I am worried about how the midfield doesn't seem to be able to properly service our forwards but I have faith in Chris and know he'll find a way. We have a young team, we have a new team, we were playing away and we were just not good enough on the night. Our defence were excellent - despite the scoreline - but we never looked threatening up top. Overall I still believe we're strong contenders for a top three finish.
We had a fabulous occasion one Sunday afternoon at their place ! Brian Gale, is a Leeds fan, is a Leeds fan. Last true champions of England, the REAL Class of 92😊
Be bold or be old, we looked like rabbits facing car headlights! Doesn't help to use a formation that we haven't played this season, and then against Leeds? Of course, if it works, you're a legend... didn't work though, did it? Learn, onwards and upwards, UTB!
Chin up lads we were outplayed but we move on to boro expect to see a more attacking line up sakyi and brooks in souza misses out so hamer can move inside
Leeds worthy winners today, first to every ball, seemed to want it more. Pur players had no coherence, passing was lax. I think with our squad depth we may struggle if plan a doesnt work.
We were out classed & out played, Leeds deserved the point, we could not string an attack. Ball passing was abysmal we gave it away to easily no real passion last night. 😢😢😢
Credit to Chris, he addresses all of the points and gets it spot on. I think he’s right with the formation…we’d have been too open with their front 6 if we stuck with our 4231. Just wish we found an outlet to create some chances on the counter. Proof our squad is wafer thin though
You will be up there this season lads no danger didn't get it right tonight with his formation but he wears his heart on his sleeve and he's a top manager at this level and he's got a good squad of players. Business end of season I expect you to be top 3 with us and Burnley (which way round is anyone's guess) RIP George Baldock. Big love from a leeds fan
Yeah funny how he's only respectful after we out played em from start to finish they didn't even have a shot on target and we had our two best cm out an half day training
Wrong tactics, way too hesitant, own it and be thankful there's a midweek game to move on quickly. Although a good side, made Leeds look like prime Barcelona when we don't lay a glove on them.
Change in formation was the wrong/negative move. We'd lost this game before a ball was kicked, still a great start to the season blades so shake it off and go again.
Tried to sneak a point belting the ball down to Moore who isn’t that good a player him and oh are just chasing shadows trying to rebuild a team but got a long way to go Great response to baldock from all supporters thought gilchrist and winger from palace should have played Brewster back to square one
Spot on Chris. Yeah, we got a bit of a beating tonight - Leeds outsmarted us, but we go again, because we're Blades ⚔️❤️ Lovely tribute to Star🌟Man. Onwards and still upwards!
@@Beverley-yf5ec Spot on apart from his ego preventing him from accepting any personal responsibility whatsoever. His selection and tactics were appalling. He’s out of his depth as you will see by the end of the season. #CluelessChris
@@davidwebster3107 : Personally, I think the Blades will be in a good position for the play-offs at the end of the season, IMO. But we need a few more players in January to bolster the squad when player injuries occur. Think you'll find that Wilder's still the boss-man to get us there, IMO. Faith!
@@Beverley-yf5ec Play-offs? We should be in the automatic slots with parachute payments. I think you’ll find that Wilder is hugely overrated and will fail yet again. Then we can move on with someone who isn’t out of their depth. Or does he get yet more free passes? Never to blame, always someone else…
Wilder finds it really hard to say Leeds, he continually refers to "Them" all the time, apart from that, he gives Leeds the respect of being the better side
Do we think we couldn't knit our game together because we changed the system? Come on Chris, take this one on the chin mate, we tried to be clever and it didn't work. Onto the next one, just a blip.
Very impressive from Wilder. No disgrace in losing a game of football but he understands why it happens - they could barely string a pass together on the night - and that strengthens his team going forward. Must say, the game wasn't helped by playing so close to the Int break. Disgrace of a decision.
How can he say that they "came here to win" when he put out such a defensive line up. Brewster, Rak Saki and Brooks all left on the bench. Far too much passing backwards and throwing out from the keeper. We were second best to Leeds in all aspects of the game and the better team came away with the points. A lesson to be learned, hopefully?
Need to be much more efficient with the chances we make. It’s been a problem all season we have just done well to not concede much either so far. Leeds much better last night
@@melfrancey1963 Don’t say that. The fan club won’t allow it. He’s one of their own and he gets unlimited free passes. Never his fault, always someone else…
And overall it was our (Leeds) night, our players had the edge over yours and yes our tactics were superior on the night, all the best for rest of the season
Finally find someone who can potentially score and is on a high from it...I know..... bench him... make sure he doesn't get a game. Brilliant.... Sounds like classic paralysis by analysis tactics this one. Trying to figure out winning lottery number combination based on what numbers have come out in the last few weeks .. Get the best players on the pitch and play football like we know we can and have a go. Farke 2 Wilder 0
To be fair I understand why wilder did what he did. And I do think the players were all poor. Not down to the shape/tactics. We couldn’t put 5 passes together
“Wilder is a w⚓️, Wilder is a w⚓️ dadadada dadadada” lmao. In all honesty apart from the banter. He seems a hurt man, and Leeds live rent free in most opposition managers heads. RIP Baldock.
Keep the fauth blades better team won well have to keep fighting not end of world. We always slate because we lose. Weve lost one game to leeds lets keep battling on blades. We are still hurting
I think Sheffield played their first promotion rival tonight and sadly, they bottled it. They offered nothing going forward and I feel Sheffields gameplan was to keep Leeds out and hope for a set piece solitary goal. These tactics might work against other teams in the league, but today you came up against a team that can defend when the opposition offers nothing. However, Meslier is one of those keepers whom, when he faces minimal shots on target, he normally concedes, you couldn't hit the broadside of the barn tonight.
@@garyhillman4993 brilliant imput gary. crap compared to who though. are we comparing them to manchester city or the division their in. if on the division they are in you would be wrong as one of them is in the top 6. if to manchester city its a silly comparison because most teams are "crap" when comparing against them.
Shocking tactics to go with a shocking performance. Subs should've been made at half time and JRS should've started. Stop pushing Hamer further back to accommodate the useless O'Hare. Doesn't have to play just because he's his best mate. All three of that front three were shit but O'Hare and Moore have been the weak links all season. Arblaster had his worst game as did the wing backs. Souza the only player who turned up and put a shift in but that yellow card was just silly and avoidable. Negative setup from the start. No point been flat track bullies against cannon fodder then passing it sideways and backwards at 1 nil down from a free kick in their half with 10 minutes left. It's embarrassing. Performances haven't always matched the results this season and of course it had to show tonight.
@@sammybeck4855 O’Hare has been a complete liability since about game 2 or 3. He ought to be rested immediately. Of course Wilder was entirely incapable of taking any personal responsibility whatsoever. His selection and tactics lost us that match, no doubt at all. The Fan Club will be in denial, of course…
@@garyhillman4993Care to add anything worthwile Gary rather than just laughing? What have I said that's wrong. Why were we making no effort to get the ball forward quickly with 10 minutes left. Playing for a point when we're 2nd is embarrassing. Results have been good so far but performances against Swansea, Derby, Pompey, QPR etc have been nothing special.
@@chipbuttyrecords but he isn’t putting blame on the players for things that didn’t happen? We did give the ball away and Leeds were the better side? I’ve seen a second interview where he talks about why he changed it, the fact that other teams have played in a certain way there and got results like Southampton last season etc. What do you want us to do? Turn up to an away game at one of if not the best side in the league and go at them? We’d have lost either way
@@jackandrew-q9e All we had to do was turn up with our best starting team that's been unbeaten all season......why would you change something that's not broken? Southampton had just lost their last 3 games, of course, they going to go to Elland Road and sit back with a defensive formation & try to nick a goal. We didn't need to do that!!! We gave the ball away because everyone looked lost with this new formation! Wilder has repeatedly said you don't go changing a winning squad......this is all on him.
Everything he said we couldn’t do was because of the change in system - not sure why we couldn’t go and play our own game and back the lads to do it our way - he’s talking like we were playing Max city not a team in play offs in champ missing some good players. So so poor
Did Leeds change their style and method to suit Sheffield United no ....they just went at us from the off exploiting our weakness' which Wilder had created by changing the method of play.
@@jimbob06 Most, not all. I support my club, not Wilder. That’s the difference between me and the sycophants who refuse to acknowledge his obvious limitations, many of which were exposed tonight.
@@jameswoodliffe2286 I can’t stand him and he certainly did. As expected his giant ego got in the way of accepting any personal responsibility. Nothing to ‘love’ about the bloke at all.
