His playing is impeccable, but what’s even more impressive is the musical creativity that allowed these musicians to write a completely original instrumental masterpiece as this.
Replicate Extinction I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trouble you, my second message was supposed to be a joke. I agreed with your first statement, it is all about practice, the end result of all that practice is still so astonishing to me, which is why I wrote my comment, pretending disbelief.
Chris is hands down one of my favorite guitar players ever .........his shit just fucking rules....Shadow of Intent is gonna be the biggest and best band of all time.....at least in my opinion.....hope to get 30 more cds........
I just want to be clear, shadow was on a whole other level when they were teenagers. These dudes picked up their instruments when they were in diapers or so I would assume. And lyrically, you need a fuggin dictionary to read these lyrics. Absolutely my fav band
A 6 string take's a lifetime to learn...and even then, it's an unmasterable instrument. Plenty of heavy bands still use a 6 string. The only reason to buy a 7 is to add it to your collection and to just have one if you need it. A 6 is more than capable of anything you want it to do though.
Well I'd say 7 or 8 string would definitely give you a wider berth of sound on the low end, which is typically why solos in songs like these tend to sound more "flexible" and fluid. For me, it's always been easier to play solos on tunings starting in d flat or lower. The tensile of the strings allow for a little extra fluidity.
Tuning? I’m guessing drop b or something like that and I have no idea how to figure it out lol but dude so flawless though! That sweeping section gets me harder than a rock
I’m struggling with the sweeping section right now, it looks like he doesn’t pick when coming back down the arpeggios? Also, do you have an explanation as to why he taps some of those notes? I have small hands and I can comfortable reach them with my fretting hand still in position, so it seems unnecessary and maybe even harder.
