If the birds can call us to joy and cheerfulness and the call of the lamb in the background can call us to peace and love, Christ's voice can call us to life! Hallelujah!
It’s amazing how one day you can feel as lifted and holy as a monk, but the next day you feel like you’re almost Judas…and getting out of that hole is a lot harder than it was to fall into. Please pray for me brothers and sisters.
So true… I sinned and I’m paying with my health. My wife is watching me suffer and it’s hard… Thank you Christ for calling me out from the depths of darkness.
None of us can do it alone that's why we need Yeshua to plead on our behalf to the father. We are all filthy and unworthy but rest assured we have been saved from the lamb. Praise Yah whenever you feel unworthy or going to do something dumb.
This resonates so deeply, Father Spyridon. Christ called me out of the depths of 56 years of darkness and death last summer. My wife and I just celebrated our first Great Lent, Holy Week and Pascha as Catechumens. Truly, He is risen!!!
CHRIST HAS RISEN CHRIST HAS RISEN CHRIST HAS RISEN On this Great and Important Sunday , I wish to send you a message. HAPPY EASTER Father Syridon and to your family as well. Please keep doing these videos, they make me stop and think about what has been said, also how to be a better orthodox Christian. God Bless Слава Богу
My first remembrance of someone dying “for what”??? Many years ago I was driving, approaching a funeral home as people were attending. I remember being stopped in traffic, I’m guessing there was a red light. But suddenly it was as if I was a part of the service, but why? I found myself terribly disturbed that this man’s funeral was full of people’s accolades. But there was no reference to life eternal. Right there I was thrust into being exceedingly sorrowful. And my tears were screaming to God to not let this be, to cause it not to be a hell bound service…”just make sense of it all”. And then it happened, what I knew to be a beautiful sun shiny day turned into a monsoon…God’s tears. Right there I realized that I couldn’t come close to being as sorrowful about this man as God was. Then I was back to myself as the rains continued to flood the streets, no one was going anywhere. And then it stopped and the sun shined forth….and my heart was made to receive of Him a place to go to in Him, and I’m still learning how to do that. Love and Peace to all, for Christ’s sake….Be thankful for the Holy Spirit. Have a grateful day. ( forgive me for any typos)
This video nails the issue of the heterodox heresey that totally presents ideas that are antithetical to God's perfect nature. I came to Orthodoxy over 38 years ago, and I never regretted coming into the Church. I know all about other Christian beliefs, and Orthodoxy stands out as totally coherent and logical. I am well into my sixties, and I say this video is spot on.
@Francis L Mayer, Christ is risen! I turned 65 last month, and later in life walked away from evangelical Protestantism, converted to Orthodoxy, and never looked back. I used to have regrets about not discovering the fullness of faith and this precious gem when I was a younger man. But I see now that the lord wanted me to be ready in his timing. ☦️
Christ is risen. Pray for me a sinner. Pray that we may all run towards Christ, the risen God, so that his love may encounter us in our deepest darkness and redeem our sinful souls. Amen.
I was reminded of this passage of scripture, at the end of your wonderful homily, Father Bailey -- Colossians 2:13-14 "And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross." Kyrie Eleison. Glory to God.
Dear Father Spyridon 🙏🏾♥️✨ Thank you for this video post. I am from Yorkshire too 😊 I love your messages and I am going to send to my Father who is now in a care home and has had a stroke. Please pray that he will return to our Lord before his soul passes and the body returns to the earth. His name is Konrad and he has 7 grown children, thank you 🙏🏾✨❤️🔥
May the Light of our Resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to continue shine and guide us through your wonderful sermons. ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ ΑΝΈΣΤΗ!!! Τhe unworthy from Las Vegas
I have been watching Father Spyridon for a few months now. I was raised in Presbyterian, Wesleyan, Baptist, and Christian Missionary Alliance churches, and my mother is now a Jehovahs Witness, but I am feeling myself being strongly drawn to Orthodox Christianity. I am thinking perhaps Greek Orthodox. I don't have a vehicle at this moment though, so I thank God for Father Spyridon and his videos which are opening a new world for me from the Orthodox perspective.
Reminds me of this beautiful passage in Proverbs 8, Wisdom, metaphorically, is Christ: 1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate your videos. You directly tackle questions and thoughts I have had for many years in a way that truly makes sense to me, and I truly think you have helped me understand more things and open my heart even more. I love the way you convey these ideas and ideals. Thank you sir.
THANK YOU DEEPLY FOR THE DEPTH OF THIS HOMILY. YOU ARE SO RIGHT WITH THE CONTENT OF YOUR MESSAGES. I MREALLY GRATEFUL ICOULD HEAR THIS MESSAGE IT IS AS IF GOD SPOKE TO ME THROUGH YOU FATHER.DEEPLY APPRECIATE. BE BLESSED
I certainly need to hear this message. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver and who knows what else. My lifestyle, food consumption, weight. Consequences come to us all
12:30! So true, when the stain of the sin is both a terrible feeling and force against our repentance, it is a sign that we must humble ourselves before Christ. Yet too many take it with pride, and will not let go of that which is destroying them.
At the very depths of me in pursuit of the world and sin, the Lord Jesus Christ found me and called me. At my lowest Jesus cared for me and filled a void in my heart nothing else in the world could fill. Like the woman at the well, I was seeking for things that cannot satisfy but I heard the Savior speaking, he said draw from my well and never run dry. I thank the Lord for mentors like you father, at the brink of me losing it all God's word ministers to me and constantly reminds me to pursue righteousness and forsake evil. I pray that God's purpose about my life is fulfilled. Amen. We appreciate the work God is doing through you and the many lives impacted by these videos.
Very encouraging and inspiring message. You're right, as long as we feel safe, the reality of death is something we've not yet encountered. Regarding Protestant teachings, actually Christ did save us from God's wrath (Romans 5:8-9) and is the propitiation to God for our sins (1 John 2:2). That's what atonement is, and that is what Christ did. Not to pay off the devil, who owns nothing and has no eternal power. But yes propitiation and to save us from God's wrath. According to scripture that's why Christ died among other eternal reasons like the overcoming of satan's tyranny that you mention as well. But yes, Christ can and does reach for us in the very depths of our darkest times and hours, including when we're facing death. Praise be to God.
Thank you Father Spyridon. Your video popped up at the top of my youtube videos this morning, out of the blue. It has come at a time when I am grieving for the loss of my beloved mother; at a time when I am struggling spiritually and battling with sin. I will try my hardest to repent. It will be a fight for what good I have in me. I hope that I will be able to do so. God bless you.
We are called to respond in faith. Faith is belief, trusting in, and fidelity, which has a synonym of allegiance. I love the word allegiance because it is a word that includes all these words that describe faith. We are called to give our allegiance to the King, an allegiance that repents from all other former allegiances.
