I know is different, this is open space, seems to be harder to achieve it, but if you could add some space to the background noise, don't know how to explain, in this song they did it pretty well (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O5ooPGEiXkg.html), like feeling some empty space between you and the background noise, that would be astonishing. As far as I know there are some algorithms for it. Thanks for this kind of content!
Kinda thought you wouldnt upload anymore on this channel, really pleased to see you proofing me wrong :-) hope you can do this kind of thing in the future, and you and your family stays safe and healthy :-)
@@sankyumiku it's really the fault of the English language for having words sound the same when meaning different things as well as being spelled completely different
@@eccomi21 The English language is the biggest joke ever. The words though, cough, through, and rough all end in the same four letters, but none of them rhyme.
@@eccomi21 you pronounce cough as coff, but pronounce rough as ruff. They are not really rhyming. If you are referencing to the words’ spelling though, all 4 rhymes so you shouldn’t only reference 2 of them
I am from Rio and I went to the monument a few months after you visited it. It's really an amazing view, like very few others in the world, especially in a beautiful day like the one you got. Everybody should come and visit it. And thank you for collecting the bottles!!!
At the moment you walked all the way out on the platform and turned around to look back at Christ with the clouds in the background it gave me cold chills at that moment because it looked just like I would picture the return of our Lord and Savior coming down from Heaven.
I have so much respect for you with that simple gesture of picking up trash left behind by such disrespectful visitors. I want to thank you for giving us a little enjoyment while we are stranded in our homes during this crisis.
It actually felt a bit strange "being" so close to so many other people in this strange times. Thanks for this strange but pleasent experience Destin! :)
love it!!! it actually made me feel much better. I was getting pretty depressed, and you being in a crowd made me feel like I was there. Psychologically, I feel like I took a walk in a crowd. I haven't had social contact IRL with anyone for 4 weeks now, so it felt really really nice!!!
Hello I am Brazilian (live in Vancouver) And don’t worry , there was nothing weird in the video, specially because there was more people speaking English and Spanish than Portuguese. Thank you so much for showing a good side of my country, I got goose pimples watching it, even though I already been twice there. Good luck and lots of prosperity !
Many argentinos speaking there, also some Colombians or Puerto Ricans some Mexicans, Frenchs or Canadians (or some other french speaking country. Some argentino was commenting about your head and whatever you had on, the camera or the mics, before you got to the ants xD). It's interesting how the camera picks up so many noises from the environment, steps, voices, screams and when you are there your brain just filters them all out so you hear only what you are interested in: the voice of your companion, the tweets of a bird, the wind... Awesome! Thanks for filming and sharing! Engenheiro = engineer Saludos desde 🇦🇷
Thank you so much for this! Every now and then I'll remember this channel and be sad that the uploads stopped coming, so this was quite a welcome surprise. My friend got back from Rio just in time for these travel restrictions to start taking effect, and he mentioned visiting Christ the Redeemer. Now I get to too!
This and Rambalac are two of my favorite RU-vid channels; especially during times like this when it feels like the whole world is being quarantined. I know these aren't substitutes for actual travel, but the sense of being in a place really gets across with the audio. It's like a feeling of community, even though I'm thousands of miles away at home. Thank you for always uploading and sharing your experiences with us! I know it takes a lot of effort, but I genuinely appreciate it. Can't wait to see what you share next!
These sound videos have encouraged me to make an appointment with an ear doctor. Evidently the hearing in my right ear needs to be addressed 😳 I have been exposed to some loud sounds and they have caused considerable damage.
Greetings from Brazil. I went to Rio so many times, its a great place to spend some time. There´s a lot of marvelous places to go. I not live there acctually, i´m from Belo Horizonte - Minas Gerais thats it´s a beauty place by the way, come visit us and make some amazing videos like this.
Destin I love these videos! I watch these videos multiple times so that I can remember everything for when I go. You might think this is weird , but my dream is to become a U.S citizen and I've lived here since I was 5 and I'm current 25 so to me this is all I know and I call this great country home. Unfortunately every year it seems to get harder and harder to become a U.S citizen , nonetheless I keep my faith in god and in the universe that everything will work out for me so that I can get everything done so that i can become a citizen and get my passport I like to think I love traveling because all I can do is travel within the U.S and I love it!! But I watch these videos because I KNOW one day I will travel to these places I like to familiarize myself by watching your videos. So thank you so much for all the hard work and effort you put into these videos!! I really appreciate them.
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us, Destin. Boy, was it crowded up there! I noticed the floodlights were all set at exact angles - I bet someone spent ages getting that all perfect. Oh, and well done for picking up other people's trash!
I have bad anxiety, and get really stressed in crowded areas. So instead of travelling and dealing with places overflowing with tourists, I like to watch videos of tourist destinations. Watching a video with crowds in it normally doesn't bother me in the slightest, but with the directional audio I actually did feel a bit of stress and anxiety watching this. I'm both disappointed by that fact, and really intrigued by it, since I've never really associated sounds with my anxiety before, so I've learned something new about myself! I'll definitely be checking out more of these videos... but probably only the ones in less crowded areas. :P
This is absolutely astonishing. I was home alone when I found this channel (after binge watching some Smarter Every Day), with a curved monitor and some headphones. I honestly felt as if I was walking up the steps to a place I've only seen in movies. More than once I turned my head to try and see something off screen, like the hat stand at 2:52, and had to snap back to reality and realize I was at home. Its almost unnerving how easy our brains can be tricked with just two senses (sight and sound) while our other three senses are sending completely different information. Amazing! Thank you for the awesome trip!
I have a video suggestion for you. The 5th Presbyterian church in Chicago has a gigantic organ that Rob Scallion has done some videos with. The organ, if you're not familiar, is literally built into the structure of the entire building. This organ also has a MIDI input port which Rob has showed can be used to play music from a laptop. He repeated said that there is no way he could capture how truly amazing the organ sounds in person, so I thought you might want to give it a go. I'm sure there are other churches with similar organs closer to you if you don't want to or remain unable to travel, but I know that the church leadership at 5th Presbyterian is willing to allow youtube videos to be filmed there. It might also make a good topic for a SED video while your there.
I love your job on Smarter Every Day man, I want to do physics and I from Brazil, more specifically, I live on the inner of the Rio's state. I also didn't know we were brothers in Christ! That's awesome! I wish you and your family a happy new year! Thanks for making me smarter!
As a Brazilian this is so interesting, listening to people interacting normally while we currently are almost all the time at our houses because of the virus. Thanks for this Destin, you are a guy with a very special set of emotions and knowledge, very rare thing.
This is so cool. I am really digging this. You have got to record a NHRA Top Fuel event. If you've never been, you can feel the sound it is so loud. Normal video cannot capture the experience. I'll bet you can come close. Thanks, Ralph
Amo este video. I love this video. I lived in Brasil for two years a while back. I underwent an "immersion training" with language, and It's nice to know that even now, some time after I've returned, I still am able to pick out conversations and understand what's being said. Thanks for this one!
I have a request, can you please take your equipment out to a local air show? I have never seen the Blue Angels or any American jets live and to be able to hear the power of the aircraft would be so amazing. I am amazed by sound and to date the best video I have ever watching was the NASA rocket launch in 2018 that you uploaded.
Thanks, i thought new content wasnt coming anymore, this audio and 360 video would be money in the bank, just wish i would be able to look at direction of interesting sounds.
dont know why .. but its perfect to go to sleep while listening to this there is no direct sound linked to anything i would mind so its kinda deeply relaxin .. much better than the "so called and self proclaimed deep relax programmes here on youtube..
I’m sitting on the sun with my earphone on and listening to your sound track. Amazing. Truly amazing content. I had to open my eyes a few times just to make sure the was no air plane. Very very relaxing. It’s like people watching with your ears.
Thank you for uploading this, I am waiting for summer and this just made me feel like it already is! I hope that you will be uploading some more in this year. Great experience.
What an incredible experience. It felt very real, almost like I’m was there, which is amazing given that almost everyone’s staying at home. Thank you for this content, Destin. Love from the Philippines!
WOW! Thank you so much for this video. I will never see it so it was fun going along with you on your travels. I hope you and your family are safe and sound during these trying times....... Mo
Hey man... Next time you come to Brazil... Minha casa é a sua casa (My house is your house)!!! I'm an airline captain who loves physics. Also have 2 RU-vid channels but veryyyyy small compared to your 2 channels. I think I watched almost every video of smarter everyday!!! Thanks for all the great content you provide. Best regards from Brazil
Thanks for letting me take a break from Working From Home to travel along and experience this! Also, nice job on cleaning up the bottles. It’s the right thing to do, but I wanted to show appreciation as I’m confident that mentality carries onto many places that likely go without notice. Stay safe!
I would love to see these videos recorded with 360 camera. I know its a bit pricey but totally would be an amazing experiment with vr headsets. Anyway really like the content here and on smarter every day as well. Keep it up 🤜🤛
Great content! I've never been there but this production resulted in a pretty immersive experience. It's funny to hear most people speaking spanish or english rather than portuguese, though.
Here’s something I noticed: it’s way easier to distinguish between talks when the audio is binaural. Even when 2 different groups of people speak together, it seems easier to know what they’re talking.
I love you guys! Suggestion: I think you could pass your video through a video stabilizer and improve the experience -even better is take the video with a true lens stabilized video camera. Also, you might experiment with pushing the microphones about 15-20% farther apart. (Sorta like HDR for stereo) - it's a thought :-)
