In responding to this... One needs to understand that the Arabian Peninsula prior to islam was not purely polytheistic. Arabia consisted of nomadic tribes and towns that had a lot of diversity religiously. For example the city of Medina which was called Yathrib was a city that was almost primarily composed of Jews that had lived there for a while, well before Islams inception. In Mecca, there was people that were considered Hunafa or people who were monotheistic. This idea existed in the Arabian Peninsula before islam. People like Waraqah bin Nawfal existed who was a christian for instance. now arabia did have polytheism, but it was scattered and thus you had a good mix of Jews, Christians and Polytheists in those regions. It's also worth nothing that the polytheism of Arabs even in Mecca was such that they believed in Allah but they ascribed daughters and sons to God. So these intermediary false gods represented a way to connect to Allah and this is something that Abu Lahab even believed. In the Quran it says 'if you ask these pagans who created the heavens and the earth they would say Allah'. The real issue was that idolatry was something that was lucrative and attractive in making money and attracting people to this little desert oasis town. Now when the prophet (SAW) came, he was facing Jews, Christians and 'psedomonothesistic pagans' (they did believe in Allah and might've made inscriptions that may seem monotheistic partially) who technically worshipped the Grand deity Allah, but also other minor Gods. It does not surprise me in the slightest that there are inscriptions of Allah written across arabia across the 4th-6th centuries. Jews and christians and even pagans worshipped Allah. Many of these inscriptions he's referring to are identifiable as christian and jewish inscriptions that survive today. Once Islam emerged, Idols and remnants of paganism were retroactively wiped out. For instance the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) destroyed all of the idols around the Kaaba in one fell swoop. And over the next decades and centuries, Muslims across arabia would naturally destroy anything that went against monotheism. They would've done this because of a personal grudge against paganism and their jahily past. Plus they would've thought they were getting good deeds for destroying paganistic remnants, especially around Mecca. Now the older structures that were not legible to Arabs due to archaic nature of the scripts or due to their hidden nature, these idols might survive to this day showing signs of paganism around 100-400 AD. But for a person alive in the 700s, any idol developed in the 600s all the way back to the 400s that might've had a pagan inscription would likely be destroyed by a muslim who is discovering these idols. So now 1400 years later, it doesn't shock me that all that's left are the monotheistic inscriptions.

The argument the whole of Arabia was monotheistic is ridiculous. No intellectual scholar would say that. In fact within the Islamic paradigm it does not entirely say that Judaism or Christianity was not in the Arabian Peninsula either. Yathrib has Jewish arab tribes. yemen had christians and jews. Another point to ponder is the Quran speaks to the Quraysh about Allat Manat and Uzaah. The Quran is a historical source within itself. So his main assumption falls apart. Why speak to the Quraysh who should be monotheists based on his assumption.

To conclude, therefore, it is the consensus of historians that Arabia had largely abandoned polytheism and paganism in favour of monotheism by the end of the 6th Century CE.

Abrahamic religions was very popular in Arabia before Islam. A Jewish kingdom(Himyarite) once ruled Arabia for 700 years and just melted away about 100 years before Muhammad. Muhammad wasn’t the first person to bring monotheism in Arabia.

Mecca was literally the pagan capital of Arabia and Kaaba was surrounded by 360 idols. Yes not all Arabs were polytheists as they were also Jews among them but most of them were.

I'm a born Muslim trying to strengthen my imaan and seek the truth. From the objective perspective, I am disappointed with Imran deflecting Arul's challenge to prove that the Arabian peninsula was largely politheistic and idol worshipers. It appeared that he would deflect by embellishing every opportunity to sidestep responding to Arul's challenge. The other issue that disappointments me is the childish responses chiding Arul instead of sharing anything of value. Isn't that contrary to an ayat in Quran where the Muslims are encouraged to discuss in better manners? I hope the subsequent videos rectify these concerns, Inshallah.
