Persolaise - Too funny. As you were reviewing this, my 16-year-old daughter and I were in the store smelling it. We were excited to get home and watch your review together. A real treat for me because she usually refuses to watch my videos. My teen's takeaway: My daughter loves the sweetness but agrees there is something synthetic about the perfume. Nevertheless, she likes it and plans to buy it. Please, please, please do a list for teens and young adults.
I said good bye to any Miss Dior release years ago, while passionately safeguarding 2 bottles of the original edt in vintage version ❤ I love what teen girls wore in the 40s and that, in case of Christian Dior, includes dresses, gloves and what not.
Perhaps i’m an outlier but I really adored Demachy’s Dior. Rose Kabuki reigns supreme as my favourite scent for its delicate, powdery rose. I think there needs to be a reminder as to what Dior is: luxury. Their target market isn’t people who care about longevity, sillage, power bombs. Luxury isn’t about being bold and revolutionary. Often it’s the opposite: the sheer simplicity amped up by quality ingredients and high prices. I loved Demachy’s Dior for that reason. They were light, feminine, beautifully simple. In my mind they were very Dior. Of course they caterer more to their Asian market given Dior has exploded in Asia recently. We must remember they are a business I suppose. I have been nothing but disappointed in FK’s Dior so far. Not enjoyed a thing. Also; if the story about Miss Dior being named after his sister holds true, I don’t think Nazi resistance fighter Catherine would conjure notes of sugary Strawberry…. It’s a hard pass for me. Miss Dior has always been too sickly for me. Though I did enjoy Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, it was a pleasant sheer Bergamot-floral. Great video as always! I really laughed at “patchouli has been given a capital P….” 🤣
Well, 'patchouli' really was written with a capital P for some weird reason. There were many Demachy creations I enjoyed. Thanks very much for taking the time to write.
This must be worn on the skin. at first I didn't like it when I smelled it on a piece of paper , but putting it on the skin changes it greatly. It is stronger than I originally thought it was. I actually love the perfume now. The strawberry note comes out beautifully to me. synthetic? aren't they all?
Dear mister Persolaise, I love your video’s, deep knowledge of perfumery. Also highly respect your opinion. But, in this case, do try this on skin. I know it’s not anywhere near the 1947 version, I know the opening is too sweet, but wait for the Jasmin to open up on skin, the other florals, the earthy and woody tones. It really dries down beautifully. I am 49, don’t like sweet perfumers at all, but I can still appreciate this version more than the 2012 and 2017 versions. Wonder wat madame Persolaise thinks of this!
This one is jasmine based as opposed to the traditional rose based. Francis harkened back to the original 1947 jasmine based. Also, Dior tweaked the jasmine to have more fruitier strawberry, peach, apricot notes the way the jasmine of that time was. This is definitely a fruity youth vibe scent. And remember, they just came out of the war when the first inception of Miss Dior was born. They had no sweet tooth then as we MAJORLY do now. They lived on rations and barely got to have sweets. So realize back then greenier notes were scent familiar. We on the other hand were born in sugar ~ especially in North America. So we really do reference our times. This smells like a fruitier, floral version of the very mixed rounded Miss Dior EDT 2019 of which I adore. It’s like it’s Miss Dior edt 2019 which is lovely round and full and so blended you can’t really pick out any individual notes and topped up with being finally able to smell some of the fruits and florals. I don’t find it lasts as long as my edt. But I’m still enjoying this new take on my edt. Definitely NOT the 1947 as I believe it has galbanum and this DEFINITELY does not. And I don’t believe it would be received by our new generation of Miss Dior’s if it did. 😉
I couldn't say it better. It's going to be around for 3-4 weeks before they replace it with another one and release 37 more Miss Dior flankers, this year 😄. That's exactly how i feel about Dior and that's why i stopped buying their fragrances. Price points up to the sky but nothing solid for the money lol
I love sweet fruity fragrance. Fragrance are subjective and perfume should not have a age wear what you like. I am so glad I don't let others opinion sway me . Thanks for the video
I guess most of us were anticipating some breakthrough release from Mr. Kurkdjian and so far we've been left blasé. I'm also wondering whether the direction now is to attract the younger audiences 💲💲💲 A question from the business unsavvy: why do companies have keep producing flankers of the successful original that end up not bearing any resemblance to it instead of creating a new perfume? Is it bcos they build on the success of said perfume name?
I think brands are nearly always looking for younger customers. Yes, the hope with most flankers is that they'll achieve some measure of success thanks to the popularity of the original version. Thanks very much for watching.
I actually really like it. I even blind bought it. It's definitely very sweet and fruity, but it's well made for what it is, in my opinion. Just don't overdo this one. A couple of sprays will do. I'm a couple of decades from being a teeny bopper, too. I also love Dioriviera and J'adore L'or that he's done. So apparently I'm the market for his work with Dior.
Very disappointed. Not available in the U.S. stores and I ordered immediately from the Dior site and within 3 days sent it back. Seemed blasé and nothing special……
Bought blind, hated so much I gave it to someone else. Nothing chypre here and nothing like the vintage versions. And I think the cedar note that was harsh and unpleasant. Yuck.
I actually did like the chypre esque dry down to this, but it just wasn’t worth wading through the knee-high fructose syrup to get there. I also detected very little if any rose which was surprising for a new MD release.

I smelled this yesterday and bought it for my girlfriend as a gift. I thought it was very sweet but dry down on my skin was pleasant. I don’t like sweet fragrances usually but this was pleasant to me.
Let‘s hope it goes away fast…. I watched the video because of you, not for the perfume as I knew before how this will go. I‘m not very excited about the Miss Dior line. I like the „Eau de Toilette Orginal“ but thats about it. I guess we are „too old“ for this banal (is this the right word in english?) stuff…… I‘m looking forward to your video about the new Les Exclusif! ❤
I got a sample with this against my will with a purchase of something else! Its a real shame! Cheap is a good description and really off-putting. I'll stick to my ambre nuit and vanilla Diorama and tobocolor.

Funny (thanks to you) and a little bit sad at the same time. Among the jungle of MD versions,do you remember Miss Dior le parfum by François Demachy? It was quite elegant, deserved the name, one of the best modern chypres in my collection, but of course in their wisdom Dior discontinued it very quickly.

Why do people in the fragrance community always praise Guerlain so high? No doubt they have a lot of great fragrances but at least half of them are quite mediocre like here mentioned La petite robe noire (which seems to be heavily inspired by previously released and successful Lolita Lempicka) 😅 And to make a justice to Dior - Guerlain released much more La petite robe noire flankers than Dior of any of their fragrances, but here we are - magic of guerlain in fragrance community 😂
Does everyone praise Guerlain highly? I'm not sure that's always the case: I know plenty of people who are extremely critical of the brand. That aside, the question you raise is excellent, but probably too complicated to explore here. Yes, Guerlain release plenty of flankers, but they also seem to have a commitment to maintaining the quality of their heritage scents. Sadly, that's not something we see at Dior. Indeed, this is the main reason people become so upset about Miss Dior -- the scent now bears no resemblance to the original. On the other hand, when you smell Shalimar, Mitsouko, Vol De Nuit et al, you can see that a clear attempt has been made to stay faithful to the past. As I say, this is a complex issue. There may be many people who are negative about Dior, but the brand still has a vast number of fans.
When I smelled this, I immediately had to put the blotter away. It is nauseating. Fruity sweet syrupy...at this "level" this is not perfume to me anymore...It's neither elegant nor sophisticated nor sensual as they say, just synthetic, cheap, fruity, sweet...everything that is so wrong in the industry nowadays...I think Christian Dior would turn in his grave if he smelled that. I'm not a fan of La Petite Robe Noire but it is much better than that. All the "smell-a-likes" after it are forgettable...or at least I wish they were. ;-) It leaves indeed a "rich" memory...of bad things. ;-) Even as a teen I would not have worn this.
It's simply my opinion, but I think Francis Kurkdjian is performing a fraud's work right now. His interviews are utter nonsense, and Miss Dior Parfum is a shame. Christian must be turning in his grave. How I mourn Dior fragrances such as Diorella, Diorissimo, Dune etc. It's so sad to lose your soul like that. And NO, it cannot be that Chanel are going to go that way too. I'll die if they do. Thank you anyway, Mister P.
