Wow, what a speech! Thank you for the love you show to them. Thank you for pointing them to love as Christ loves us! We need more fathers like this! I pray that if i marry one day and have children, i will also show them like you did that there is nothing more important than to be rooted in the love of Jesus Christ!

Sure it had humor, and expressed love for them, but more importantly, it was an honest to goodness charge to them to keep their love for Christ and each othet as the focal point throughout their marriage. I appreciate your comment, and I think in many circumstances what you recommend is true. In this situation I asked God to give me the words to say since this was a one time speech, and highly significant. I am confident the Lord inspired these words, and my heart is full of joy when I see how it touched my daughter and her husband.
