I need to try the Angela Carlisle book. I like suspense and used to read a ton of it. I just struggle with finding authors that I really like. Blackstock is my favorite. I just started my reread of Private Justice. It was a favorite when I was young. I'm loving it again!

Great recommendations! I have not read any of them 🙂. I have read everything Lynette Eason has written except for that older series you mentioned. I have read Terry Blackstock, but not that series. I would like to try Lisa Harris, too. Looking forward to reading suspense in August!

You need to read more. The If I Run series and Aftermath are the two that immediately come to mind as faves.

Should I read that instead of beneath the surface for the readathon? I chose Beneath the Surface per your recommendation, so I’ll read whichever one you suggest more :)

That's tough. Aftermath is a standalone and Beneath the Surface is the start of a series. I have read both two times and gave them each five stars. I am going to go with Beneath the Surface because I really love the friend group.
