This boy gives me goosebumps. How and where does a 10-year-old develop the level of maturity required to exhibit such amazing interpretive skills? Forget his technique, which is nearly flawless, his ability to interpret and deliver the artist's intended feelings to his audience, his ncredible confidence, his command of every piece he plays make him one of the most promising artists the world will ever have the absolute pleasure of watching grow up and become a hugely successful artist. Thank you Chistian!!!

Who are that people, who put dislikes? He's 10 years old! And his playing is already so mature and intelligent! What did you do when you were 10? Ate sand from the sandbox? Even some 20 years old musicians can't achieve such confidence and understanding of music. He's genius! I have no doubt.

He has composure, flair, natural command of the instrument and musical maturity. Rare in a person at his age.

I am so grateful to Christian for sharing his talent with the world. My life has been enhanced by his presence and musicianship. Bravo!

Anybody noticed how brilliant the tone of that guitar is also? The sound is so strong and yet so pure. Bravo Christian and the guitarist too!!!!!

No matter whether he will be the gold medalist or the last place winner of the final, he is already the old prize winner in my heart and on my mind. His music is so natural and sincere and his playing is well trained and nicely presented without a touch of artificial display of his prodigy virtuosity.

The moment he started playing Wieniawski my jaw literally dropped to the floor

??? when he started the wieniawski piece I literally said "oh my god" to myself even though I was watching this video alone. Brilliant playing!!

Incredible musicianship at the age. I can see why there were joint winners that year. He was just as strong as Chloe, with slightly different strengths and "lesser strengths" (instead of weaknesses). I think Christian's inherent musicianship is at a rare level and that's proven to be true in more recent performances, still as a very young man. Chloe had the slight technical edge but not quite the stage presence. Very tight between the two mega talents, both of whom should have incredible careers and be a big part of music going forward.

Christian Li's teacher Robin Wilson of the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne has produced a masterpiece in this child of ten after only five years of teaching him. I do not think that even Menuhin himself had played as masterly as Christian Li when he was ten.

Better than some of the senior competitors

I hope he always loves music as much as this 10 year old boy does. I hope this never gets old for him. This is what music sounds like when it is a true blend of the heart and mind. What a mind! And the heart!! Bravo!

To be honest, one of my favourite performances of the Wieniawski Polonaise... I wonder how it will sound once he's on a full size violin, a really good one which he deserves! Already, I know I would pay to see this one perform

From this video, I gained lots of insight on how to be a better and more musical musician while also receiving a very badly crushed esteem. The ending was full of flare and confidence though; good job! Wonderful interpretations and tone! I know I sound like a music teacher when I'm really only a student (not a prodigy, definitely not), but it can't really be helped because it would put your excellent playing to shame if I didn't. I don't even play violin, and I feel greatly intimidated. Congradulations on winning first place along with Chloe Chua. I honestly can't imagine you doing anything else but violin. If you become an orchestral player when you grow up I'll eat a mushroom; you've got true talent and you'll make an amazing soloist someday! (jk you already are a great soloist). You deserve it, and I'm sure you'll go very far in your musical career. Best of luck and keep spreading the love like you do! I also want to give a shout-out to the pianist. Wow, she was really able to help Christian shine amongst the rest of the competitiors. She's so expressive too, it's like... I want to be that kind of accompanist when I grow up lol.

Absolutely awesome! He is an extraordinary genius, musical mind and body, so gifted!!!! He loves what he is doing besides the huge amount of musical work behind!!!

Christian, du hast nicht nur perfekt, sondern auch mit wachen Augen und Ohren musiziert und schoen mit deinem Klavierpartner interagiert. In einigen Jahren spielst du auch Streichquartett wie deine großen Kollegen aus der Seniorenklasse, so toll. Das war bei diesen sowieso, aber auch schon bei dir richtige gute Kammermusik. Das ist eine Wissenschaft für sich, wie ich selbst weiß, weil ich auch schon welche gespielt habe. Aber so perfekt nicht. Doch ich lerne, lobe, freue mich mit, und mache nach. Da spielen Alter und Wohnort keine Rolle, diese App hier macht das möglich.
