It has been taught that if Christians go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, that that would be thrown into Hell. The problem is, that's not the context of Hebrew 10:26. In this video we unpack what's really going on in this letter.

Condemtion only comes from God! The devil would never try to make you fell Condemtion because Condemtion makes you feel remorse and want to make you change. He rather make you feel comfortable in your sin so that you may die in it. If we love Jesus we must pick our cross daily and live like his children. Wants we accept Jesus ask for forgiveness and live the way he asks us the Holy ghost will be able to come in our bodies and change us and help us walk in the spirit and not the flesh and that is what is acceptable by the grace of Jesus and what he allows as our perfection! Perfection in the spirit of Jesus read your Bible daily pray to him worship him accept him and he will show you the truth

Hebrews 10:10 clearly teaches that the writer of Hebrews and those to whom he was writing to were _sanctified_ by Jesus Christ. Thus when Hebrews 10:26 is speaking of willful sin, it’s speaking of believers who’ve fell into mortal sin, and thus lost their salvation. Hebrews 10:10 “And by that will *we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”* This clearly is not speaking of unsaved individuals.

Yep - Amen. And, as I assume you are aware, you quoted an old testament passage. One that would not be applicable to Christians. Thank God there is not one Christian on the entire planet that is unrighteous. We are all the righteousness of Christ. Unlike those under the old covenant, God had mercy only on people who change their performance. Christians today will never lose mercy, no matter how stupid we may behave. There’s nothing we can say or do as Christians that would ever prevent us from being abundantly pardoned. And for that, we can absolutely say THANK You JESUS! Which, as we know, nobody was able to say that phrase under the old covenant.

@@ChurchinnameofJESUSCHRIST very interesting that your channel name is 'light unto the people ministry', yet, instead of having civil discussion, you're running around referring to people who you might disagree with as liars. Isn't this how the atheist behave? There is indeed a time to call someone out. But that time is when someone is blatantly, intentionally misbehaving, or saying something that they know not to true. The proper response would be to have a discussion about it, and not just hurl fiery darts at anyone who doesn't hold your exact view. Your response yields no love, no kindness, no forgiveness, and no grace. I'm not sure how you see that is shining a light unto anymore. Of course, I'd love it if you would consider having a godly conversation on the topic. Prayers for sure brother. There’s a scripture that says don’t be drunk with wine but be filled with the spirit. Many people misunderstand it. The point is people heavily drink to escape pain, sadness, depression, or some void in their life. The author is teaching us to learn to let the spirit fill those needs. My advice, if you’re struggling with alcohol, work to let Jesus fill whatever is causing your pain. Praying for you brother.

Hello Mike and thank you for your excellent and truthful interpretation of scripture. i will come at this passage from a slightly different angle but basically i think we are on the same page and if i seem to wander off base, please correct me . I believe that this passage is speaking to true believers in Christ but that he was speaking of the total forgiveness that Christ provided for us on the cross but ,if we are still trying to do (confess our sins for forgiveness) instead of resting in his finished work of total forgiveness that was already provided, we are willfully sinning by constantly coming back to the altar of confession and trying to clean ourselves up again by us "doing again" and not believing in what he "did already"for us . and until we do, the only think we look forward to is a certain fearful expectation of judgement believing that we have fallen out of fellowship with our lord and thus the fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries". and then as you were teaching on down the scripture it goes on about the mosaic laws and death to sin. if we are constantly coming back to ask for forgiveness from Christ when the forgiveness has already been provided we are trampling underfoot Christ and counting the blood as insufficient for our complete forgiveness in asense calling God a liar and insulting the Spirit of Grace. I know the "once saved always saved" critics do not want to hear this interpretation because they don't want to believe in the real truth that will set them free but i guess they still love being on the teeter-totter of sin-confess-sin-confess'. i pray that their faith is not in vain and that someday they will see and hear the real truth of the Gospel of Grace. Thanks again Mike and really we really enjoy your Ministry..God Bless"...

Thanks for your comment. We really love hearing from you. So, in summary, your view seems to be that Hebrews 10:26 is saying, if you are. Christian, your sins are all forgiven, BUT, if you confess your sins and ask Jesus to do what he already did for you, then the deal is off and you’re going to hell. I say ‘hell’ because notice what the penalty is in verse 27: “a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.” So, in short, you also have to believe in losing salvation to hold strong to this view. Respectfully, I don’t see it. While Christians do not need to keep ‘asking’ for what we already have, God is not going to change His mind because we are confused about our security. We were saved by faith in Jesus. We retain it by that. Thank God because there are millions of people that love Jesus, and trust Him, but are confused about some doctrinal issues (like security) because of the poor teachings of men. Also, the word ‘fallen out of fellowship’ are nowhere to be seen in all of scripture. That’s just more bad teaching of men. Christians never fall out of fellowship with God. What would cause broken fellowship? Sin would. Jesus died for those sins. Now God will NEVER leave us or forsake us. Now, when we are faithless, He REMAINS faithful. Our fellowship is secure because He is good, not because we are. As for the ‘trampling underfoot Christ’, this is Jews. Jews who heard about salvation by grace. A free gift. Apart from the law. Salvation through the perfect sacrifice. Jesus. Then, for the Jews to reject that message and run back to the temple as the way for forgiveness, well, that’s trampling over Jesus. Keep in mind, this letter is ONLY written to Jews. Keep in mind for 10 chapters there is not even ONE mention of outward sin. It’s only inward sin. The sin of unbelief. Keep in mind, the context is they all heard the gospel. They tasted it. They were enlightened. BUT…..the rejected it. Lastly, let me drive home that this is about Jews rejecting Jesus and choosing the Mosiac law instead. We see that in verses 28-29 “Anyone who has ignored the LAW OF MOSES is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severe punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the SON OF GOD, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? So, the writer is plainly telling us, if you Jews were in trouble when you broke the law, a man covenant, how much worse will it be if you reject the Son of God who gave His life for you?

@@jesuswithoutreligion Thank you again Mike , i was making the point that verse 27 might apply to a person who believes that until they get right with God again by their confession until they sin again and start all over with the fear and guilt that is loose baggage .although they are still saved once and for all, they do not have the full assurance that Christ has totally forgiven them and worry that if they don't confess their sin, then verse 27 would apply to their thinking but in reality they truly have eternal life and this verse does not apply to them as they have eternal security although they may not understand that yet for they are confessing sin that has already been forgiven by Christ". the "getting out of fellowship" is another reason why the insecure believer thinks they need to confess short accounts of sin as they believe this is the way to get back into fellowship with God which is false doctrine and a lie from the devil. but in reality we have been saved eternally and our place with God is secured and he will never leave us". (2 Timothy :13. Verse 29 could also apply to once again, coming back to confessing sin that has already been forgiven by Christ and NOT counted the blood of the covenant as sufficient ENOUGH for total forgiveness by which he ( we ) WAS SANCTIFIED" a common thing and insulted the spirit of grace".

1 John 3:4-10 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians 5:24 and those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Thank you so much. That makes perfect sense. If we would be without hope no one would be in Heaven because there is not one person on earth who has been saved that didn’t ever sin again. We should be perfect in our deeds and thoughts but we will miss the mark at times. Also, if we went to Heaven based on works Jesus sacrifice would mean nothing. His blood covers our sin. Again this does not mean we should sin and sin does bring destruction in many ways and ruins our witness and relationships as well.

Hope your day is going good Mike. So Romans says that whoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus is lord and believe in their heart God raised him from the dead will be saved. So I heard someone say that you can’t believe without confessing with your mouth, but I mean what about mute people? Also with that what if someone truly trusts in Jesus for their salvation but never confesses with their mouth he is Lord?
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 3 года назад
In context, confession with our mouth simply means agreeing with God. Your point about mute was great. There are MANY scriptures telling us we are saved by faith, by hearing and believing, and no mention of verbal words. Sometimes we need to look at multiple scriptures to get the context and trust. As for people who teach this silly doctrine, I would not give them much time. They clearly don't believe that trusting and loving Jesus is enough, so they toss in a sort of works-based theology, and usually, they follow up with many more works.

@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion Месяц назад
The only way you will be presented as blameless is through faith in Jesus. Yes, we should turn from our sins, but let's not foolishly think that this is what makes us blameless in the end. Do you know who would have agreed with this? The apostle Paul. He wrote a letter to the Corinthians, who were actively involved in orgies, drunkenness, abusing the Lord's Supper, and much more. It's clear that these people were not focused on repentance at that time, but they knew Jesus. While Paul rightfully addresses their poor decisions, he ensures not to confuse their performance with their salvation. He begins the letter by telling them they are Saints by calling. He tells them they lack no gift and that they will be presented as blameless in the end, even while they are actively rolling in their sins. Sure, we want other humans to see us as blameless, and the best way we can do that is by avoiding sins. But there's only one way you will be presented as blameless in the end, and avoiding outward sin is not going to help. The only way to be presented as blameless before God is through faith in Jesus.

yeah you can go back to Jesus as long as you are still alive in this earthly world Jesus will never turn away a backslider but sinning believers do perish in hell to it's exact meaning in hebrews 10:26-27 if you go back to sinning you will perish hebrews 10:26-27 isn't saying you can't go back to God it is saying if you go back to sin you are dooming yourself back to the path that leads to hell it isn't applying that you can't go back to God but yes it does make it quite clear that yes we can in fact lose our salvation most of you believers misunderstand and misinterpret that bible verse smh Jesus Christ's teachings/gospel makes it quite clear how nobody is once saved always saved and how nobody is saved by belief alone Jesus Christ Himself made it quite clear that only believing in Him isn't enough to be saved if we was able to remain being a sinner and not have to change then Jesus is a liar and wasted his time when He taught us about becoming and being born again or most of you believers are liars with you're false beliefs with you're own doctrines of men and demons which is it are you going to call Jesus Christ Himself a liar or are you going to call yourself a liar because in that scenario you can't choose both and obviously it would be blasphemy and foolish stupid even to call God Jesus Christ a liar but most of you believers do be indirectly calling God Jesus Christ a liar though with the false beliefs most of you believers have and obviously Jesus never lied and Jesus isn't a liar so there you go and common sense says becoming and being born again requires change you can't be born again without change even the definition of the words born again in the dictionary proves that so yeah most of you believers do be indirectly calling Jesus Christ Himself a liar with the false beliefs most of you believers have pray more and re-evaluate how ya'll have been believing would be very wise of most of ya'll indeed

We discover that we cannot produce fruit on our own. In fact, apart from Jesus (the vine) we’re dead. Spiritually. It can get a little tricky with this term he uses "remain in me". In the Scriptures we never see somebody's name being written in the Book of life. What we see is this book of life has every name written in it, and for those who rejects Jesus, their names are blotted out. Decide to leave falls in line with what Jesus means when he says remain in me. If you reject Jesus as Savior he would be cut off and thrown into the abyss. If you receive him through faith he will remain in him. I'm happy to discuss why I believe in once saved always saved, if that's where you were headed. And I honestly have no issues with you or anyone who fully disagrees with that theology. That is not something that she disunite children of God. Let me know if you were asking about a specific verse or portion of John 15. Sorry there’s a lot there

It is just meaning to not continue to sin without repentance, but you still sin without knowing it probably every day. A true believer feels conviction when they sin and they repent. A false believer just believes with vain imagination and has no reverence for God, so he has no conviction and no repentance. By faith we no longer desire sin but if we sin we have an, advocate Jesus who is petitioning for us before the Father. Amen. 🙏❤️✝️ :)

I’m embarrassed to say this but I remember when I was a lukewarm Christian, before I sinned I thought in my head that it is okay and that I will be forgiven. That is all I really remember but I have grown more spiritually and that was the last time. Am I forgiven because I feel guilty and convictment
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 3 года назад
Let me start by saying this. Sin is bad and we Christians should honestly do our very best to avoid it. We should walk in the spirit and avoid indulging the desires of the flesh. With that disclaimer out there first, I’d like to make the following points. There’s no such thing as a lukewarm Christian. That is a man-made theology that comes from a terrible interpretation from Revelation 3. Here’s a brief explanation of Rev 3 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R6LVb_Bt5tE.html. You asked me are you forgiven because you feel guilty and convicted. My answer is NO. The only reason you are forgiven is because he called on Jesus Christ to rescue you from your sins. You feeling guilty or convicted has nothing to do with your salvation. The apostle James said we ALL stumble in many ways. In other words, you sin, I sin, we all stumble in many ways. So I’m going to be abundantly clear. No matter how many sins you committed, Jesus will forgive them. It doesn’t matter how small or big they are. No I’m not saying that we should sin. That would be crazy talk. But I will not deny what Jesus did on the cross for us. He literally gave his life and shed his blood for you. Let’s not deny the finished work on the cross. If righteousness could be obtained by our human effort, then Jesus died needlessly - Galatians 2:21. Jesus died because you cannot perform perfectly. Let’s recognize our weaknesses. Let’s recognize our need for Jesus. Let’s not pretend like we are not capable of sin. When we do that people will understand why we are so obsessed with our love for Jesus. They need to know why we are dependent upon him. But we promote this false message that we do not struggle, no one takes us seriously. Love you. Hope that helps.

That's a great question and it's something we all struggle with at some time or another. Those that think they get it all right, probably all the ones they get it wrong the most. My advice is to be open-minded and willing to listen to multiple explanations from various authors. We have tons of videos on this channel and we cover all sorts of verses, parables, and scriptures. Our primary focus is showing people Jesus and unpacking some of the most commonly misunderstood viruses. It has been our willingness to be wrong but has allowed us to understand scriptures more clearly. I think you will find that the truth of the meaning behind scriptures is much clearer and has mostly been muddied up because of very bad legalistic teaching. Be intentional or unintentional, I don't know.

It should be the goal of every Christian to “sin no more,” although we recognize that, while we are in the flesh, we will still stumble (1 John 1:8). God’s desire for each of us is to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). We still sin, but sin is no longer a lifestyle choice (1 John 3:9-10). When we fail, we can come to God and ask forgiveness (1 John 1:9; 1 Peter 4:1-2). And if we are truly God’s children, He will correct us, disciplining us when we need it (Hebrews 12:6-11). His work is to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). 1 John 1:8-10 - If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Obviously I have sinned after following Jesus. I felt bad about it and when I felt bad I was like “well I have already sinned, might as well do it again and restart tomorrow.” And it usually lead down a path of sin after sin, repeating itself instead of being removed from me. I know that the idea of “if I willfully sin after I have been saved means there is no salvation anymore” was something Satan was using to try and make me turn against the Lord. Obviously the scripture writes “There is no sacrifice for willful sins committed after the knowledge of such sins.” But I now take that as “there is no salvation for those who justify their sin with the sacrifice of Jesus”. I will continue to pray on it and search for the truth. Sadly I cannot believe everything and everyone these days. Many inward wolves. My understanding needs to be between me and God ONLY!
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 2 года назад
I have to be honest you totally contradicted yourself. You started by announcing that you “felt bad” when you sinned. This would be the expected response from someone who has a new heart with new desires and the spirit of God living in them. But then you flipped everything upside down say because she felt bad you decided why not just keep sinning more and start again tomorrow. And then it just led down a path of sin after sin. I don’t even almost see that as someone who felt bad. You described someone who had absolutely no remorse. You describe someone who does not have Jesus living in them. You described a wolf in sheep's clothing. Yes, the scriptures do say “There is no sacrifice for willful sins committed after the knowledge of such sins.” But you have completely interpreted this incorrectly. The sin being described here is the scent of rejecting Jesus. Unbelief. Jesus is the only acceptable sacrifice for sins. So it only makes sense when the writer says if you reject Jesus, the holy living sacrifice, there are no other sacrifices. Unbelief. So who are the inward wolves? Well, I’d say they are guys who said they felt bad about sin and their response was just to go ahead and do a lot more of it. I’d say they are guys that say Hebrews is about losing salvation for outward sin, and then it has nothing to do with rejecting Jesus. You talk about fraud. You’re literally condoning denying Jesus Christ as the reason somebody would not be saved, and instead, you’re focusing on the very problem he solved on the cross. Sin and death. You are correct, your understanding does need to be between you and God only. Sadly, it would appear if you were to die today you would not enter the kingdom. You seem to have a very big focus on humans being the solution when you’re missing that it’s Jesus.

I would preference my response by saying if you hear from the Holy Spirit, it’s usually a smart idea to listen, and I’m quite certain it would benefit you. Of course, not knowing what you heard, I would say it’s equally important to make sure that was indeed the voice you heard. Unfortunately, there have been times where people have told me the Holy Spirit told him something, but it was something that would completely go against what we would learn in the scriptures. Today God speaks to us through his Son. For nearly all of us, we are not hearing anything audibly from the Holy Spirit. It’s more of an internal knowing. Now to address your actual question. Anyone who is a Christian never has to fear being doomed to Hell. In fact, no Christian will ever face judgment or punishment. We simply do not see that teaching in the Scriptures. The one who believes is not judged. If you have sinned, your sins have been taken away, and remembered no more. That should put an end any idea that you may be headed to hell because you failed to listen to the counsel given to you by the Holy Spirit. So you are secure. You are safe in Jesus. Do not fear. But if you hear his voice speaking to you in any way, I promise you will be happier if you respond accordingly.

This passage is in Hebrews. This book of Hebrews was written to Jews who were staying with the old animal sacrifice and priests daily offering the blood of bulls and goats. Paul(?) Was letting them know that the old method of sacrifices by priests was no longer effective and had been replaced by the New, which was Jesus and a one time sacrifice for sin. Realize, ALL and any sin is condemnation, not just "willful sin." Even unintentional sin has condemnation the same as even big sins. God will not let sin slide just because it was not willful.
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 21 день назад
I imagine you realize you pretty much quoted everything I said in the video, so we’re on the same page, with the possible exception of your last comment ‘God will not let sin slide just because it was not willful’ If you are a believer, God will let sin slide regardless of willful, or not, and regardless of a big sin or a little one, and regardless of repeating it, or only doing it once. That is in no way to suggest that we should live ungodly lives. We should not. But Jesus has taken the sin of the believer away, once for all. He remembers it no more. And we will 100% be presented as blameless on judgment day.. If someone sees this as a license to sin that they don’t understand the gospel. In fact, this total forgiveness is the greatest reason ever not to sin.

So, it seems there's a balance here. We must strive for holiness, get the sin out of our life, love God so much that we serve our neighbors, but if we fall to sin once in a while and immediately repent we will not lose our salvation?
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion Год назад
I do not believe there is a balance to this. Here’s why. The word 'holy' means ‘set aside’. In the Scriptures, we see two types of meanings for holy. One regarding behavior, and the other regarding spiritual identity. The two are not in anyway connected. YES, we certainly should be holy in our behavior. We should set aside our actions to show the world Jesus. So, yes, lets avoid outward sin, and exude good works. This is something ongoing that we continually work on. However, when talking about our spiritual holiness, you cannot get any holier. This is not progressive. It requires zero human effort. Christians are as Holy as they will ever be. Heaven ready. God has already set us aside for Him. The only role we had was being receivers through faith. Your performance at absolutely nothing to do with God's willingness to make you, Holy sanctified, justified in his name. So to that extent, there is no balance, because the two are not connected. Now, with this idea of losing salvation. I respect opposing views, but I’m very firm that this teaching is a cult teaching. There is no real scriptural evidence for losing salvation. That is a lie from lips of Satan and cult churches who twist the Scriptures to put Christians in fear in bondage and have them doubt the work Jesus performed on the cross. What you wrote literally says if we do not immediately repent from our sin, we will lose salvation. That directly denies what Jesus did about our sin. He died for them. He took them away. He poured out his blood as the only acceptable sacrifice. And what you’re suggesting is that Jesus forgives us for our sin……unless we sin.

Wyatt, What I am about to say is not popular in many Christian circles. So, first, let me make clear: 1- I encourage you to avoid sin. 2- We are not made for sin. We are made for good works in Christ. 3- Sin may have a temporary feeling of satisfaction, but it always leaves us empty and feeling unfulfilled. 2- Sin is awful. It destroys us. Run from it. With that said, your salvation is NOT about whether or not you stop committing sins. Your salvation is based on ONE thing and ONE thing only. And that’s DO YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS? Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins, and fully paid for them all? Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead and gave you new life? Have you called on Him to save you from your sins (acknowledging that YOU CAN’T do it on your own)? If you answered yes, then, my friend, you are saved eternally. So, now, with that out of the way, let’s address the sin issue. If you are struggling with sin it’s partially because you are believing the evil one when he tells you it will make you happier. Try to realize that the desire to sin does NOT originate from your new heart and sinning is not your desire..... it's from the evil one. Your struggle is NOT against your own flesh. It's against the evil one. You can’t say ‘no’ until you realize the source. YOU are not an evil person trying to good. YOU are a good person trying to avoid sins. Note: your salvation is secure. Not because you sin less, but because Jesus died. He died for your little sins, big sins, and even the ones you struggle with. If you were not saved the last thing you’d do is openly post on a Christian blog that you are sinning, and moreover, you certainly would not be worried about heaven and hell if you did not believe. My friend, I am sure you are safe in His arms. Now, go live out your new identity. :)

@@wyattlightsey2716 Read Romans 7:15-25. King James Version (NIV has 64,000 less words than the Authorized KJ) The apostle Paul is explaining how his flesh sins as well and how upon the moment you first believed- you were sealed in the Holy Spirit of promise. You cannot lose it and when “you” sin- that is your flesh- it is not the reborn Son of God that was cut off and circumcised when you were baptized by the Holy Spirit(not water) upon that first moment you believed and believed you were sealed. Ephesians 1:13-14 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Sealed means sealed. Also, born is the word God uses- can you be unborn? Can you unknow something? Good news- you can’t go to hell of you tried. You’re part of the Body of Christ- is God sending a part of His body to Hell again? You’re the Bride of Christ... is God going to burn his betrothed? Did Christ suffer the way he did to make it hard for us to live forever? If God asks me: “What did you do to deserve entrance into heaven?” I say “Nothing father, you did everything PRAISE YOUR AMZING GRACE HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME!! HALLELUJAH!” The password to heaven is two words. Is it: “I tried” or is it... “the blood”? Paul was the greatest Christian whoever lived... check verse 17 and 25 specifically. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. You can’t go to hell brother. Enjoy your life and know your sins only increase the glory of His Grace... don’t ask Him to help you quit- ask Him to do it for you. “You do it- I can’t.” That’s how I talk to Him and He does it- when I ask Him to help me do it my way, He almost always doesn’t. All glory to Him is how He likes it and He will do it His way. Just know He will never stop loving you- you will never stop being His son. Period.

Sure. I would be happy to do that [1 Chronicles 28:9 ] “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will REJECT YOU forever. With this verse, I think it’s first important to note that these are people who are the law. This is not people under the new covenant whose signs have been taken away. And as such we see the message that if you mess up God will ‘REJECT YOU forever’. Under the new, it’s the complete opposite. God says ‘I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you’ - Hebrews 13:5 Under the new, it’s the complete opposite. God says ‘If we are unfaithful, he REMAINS faithful’- 2 Timothy 2:13 Ezekiel 18:20 ‘The person who sins will DIE. A son will not suffer the punishment for the father’s guilt, nor will a father suffer the punishment for the son’s guilt; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself. Once again, this is referencing an old covenant arrangement. This is like under the law. But Christians are not under the law. We are free from the law. Christ is the end of the law for all who believe. Under the law, if you sin, the wages of sin is death. And you will die. As Christians, there still remains a wage for sin. And Jesus paid that wage. He died for our sins, and no punishment remains. God tells us our sins have been removed as far as the west is from the east. We have ‘eternal’ life. Eternal means without an end. So if our life can never end, we don’t need to be concerned about an old testament passage that only applied to Jewish people who were under the law. We are under a better covenant found it on better hopes and promises - Hebrews 8:6 [Ezekiel 3:20-21] Again, when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an obstacle before him, he will DIE; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand. 21 However, if you have warned the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself.” You could basically use the same answer I just gave. And of course, I will acknowledge it says if you do not send you will live. But we later learned is that ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23. We later learned that through the law no one will be found righteous - Romans 3:20. [2Peter 2:20-22] For if, after THEY have escaped the defilements of the world by the KNOWLEDGE of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. 22 It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.” Who are they? They are Jewish people. Jewish people who are under the law. None of which would be found righteous under that covenant. What defilements have escaped, and what was this knowledge? They were to file by their sin. The knowledge they received that would have rescued them was Jesus is the way to the father. That he died on the cross to rescue them from their sins. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. So they heard the truth. They tasted the truth. But what actually happened in the end is they rejected it. They rejected Jesus and they went back to the temple for law-based forgiveness. They rejected Jesus, which is the only sacrifice for sin, and if they reject Jesus there is no longer a sacrifice that remains. Animal blood is not going to cut it. They would have been better off never hearing the gospel, than hearing about Jesus and rejecting Him. That’s why Peter says it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness. Because they heard the truth, the last day has become worse for them than the first.

Simply because those that aren't do not seek answers and take the easy road by brushing hard verses aside. They are like seed that falls on stony ground and they throw up their hands and deny the truth. We should always let the Word guide us and not let our life experience be the measuring rod for truth and try to make the Word conform to our lives. The Word of God should be transforming our lives not the other way around. Repent from unbelief. If we only knew the power we have been given (and that includes me) the world in which we live would be a different place.

We should all be far more concerned over unbelief than outward willful sin. It is not your outward Will for sinning that would keep you from going to heaven. It is not believing that Jesus died on the cross, take your sins away, rose again to the newness of life, and has the power and authority to give it to you. So I personally cannot answer the question about you going to heaven. Only you can. And you can answer that question by answering the question is, do you believe in what I just said about Jesus? Do not measure your performance as you answer this question. The two are separate issues, but the one that saves you is the question about your faith.

Many have asked why didn't Jesus just say what he meant. I believe he did. The bigger point is God did not word it the way others are teaching. What’s wrong is how people interpret the verse. We need to look at it in line with the dozens and dozens of verses that teach us Jesus took our sins away. Saved by faith. Apart from the law. A free gift. We have to really see the context to keep from being misled by bad teachers. The context is sinning after ‘receiving the truth’. What is this truth we receive? The truth we received is that Jesus died on a cross to TOOK OUR SINS AWAY. He remembers them no more. He was resurrected to give us a new imperishable life. He put his spirit in us. We are justified. Blameless. Holy. Sanctified. Safe and secure, apart from works, apart from law. The 2nd part of the verse tells us if we kept this sin up there would no longer be a ‘SACRIFICE” to pay for sin. The blood of animals was thought to cleanse sin. Outward sin. Turns out, that never really took away sins. It was always faith. So, the context is truth. The truth is Jesus died for our sins and took them away. If we reject Jesus (continue the inward sin of unbelief) then we reject the only sacrifice for all sin. The context is the truth is that Jesus dealt with our OUTWARD sin, but we only receive forgiveness of outward sin through faith. We must willingly choose Jesus. If we reject Him, we commit the only unforgivable sin. The of unbelief. That is the sin that people ‘keep on committing’ after receiving the truth. I hope that helped

Hey Brother, I'm sorry to bother you on Sunday, but I could really use some words of wisdom concerning my family. I'm trying to remain Hopeful and praying that things will look better, but it just seems I'm really in the thick of it. Basically the run down of the situation is, my family is hurting, but none of them are willing to be vulnerable with each other and because of that we're all hostile towards each other. Which makes our home feel very unsafe. My parents fight about literally everything and it's not like once a week we're talking like everyday or every other day. And I feel so powerless. You see my Dad was never really involved and was always concerned about providing, but failed to be a fatherly example, so because of that my sister and I as well as the rest of my siblings have struggled to find ourselves and my mother basically had to take care of everything. I suffer from self esteem issues, because my father never really compliments me on anything and always scolds me about things I did wrong. And he treats all of my family like this. Which probably why I have self esteem issues about my Faith and now constant anxiety attacks. As for my sister she's getting into stuff that most teenagers are into like smoking stuff and it really makes me sad. I have no idea what to do because… My Father only sees the world through his lens and is against anyone who sees differently. Because he's insecure about himself and doesn't want to face the problem within himself, he attacks others personally as a way to defend himself. And he doesn't care what he says, as long as it hurts you as a person to get you to back off. My Mother has a hard time letting go and often feels powerless over certain situations and tries her best to control it. But that often makes the situation worse and leads her to become clingy over the person. What they both fail at is trying to understand and relate to another person's struggle. My Mother is concerned about fixing the other person and getting them back on the righteous track. While my Father is only concerned about spreading fear onto the other person, by inflicting punishment to discourage wrong behavior. Both of them are not seeing the person as Jesus would see them and neither of them seem like they wanna change how they handle the situation. So, it only makes things worse. It's like my Father has this view of God, where if you don't follow His commandments exactly, He will punish you. Basically the exact opposite of what you were telling me in my earlier messages. That God is not holding your Sins against you. My Father disagrees and isn't exactly happy that I think otherwise. He just has this corrupt view of God and the thing is he is misleading others to think the same. Which creates this version of God that no one's gonna wanna have a relationship with. And you're not allowed to tell him otherwise, but he's allowed to tell you how you should believe. I'm sure he would probably disagree with most if not all of your videos about how God sees us. But I'm not here to talk about my father, I'm here to talk about my sister who's struggling with finding happiness and purpose and to do so she's getting involved with some bad stuff. I tried reaching out to her in love the way Jesus would and relating to her the best I could and I'm not really sure if it made a difference. My father threatened me that if it didn't work he would punish her, and I think that will only make the situation worse and push her further. I just don't know what to do brother. I feel like my Father isn't supporting me to reach out to my sister the way God would and he disagrees with the thought of Grace leading to repentance and that punishment is what all those who fail to follow God deserves. But yet for some reason he's an exception even though he's imperfect just like the rest of us. I don't mean to rant on my father, but he's become a real big issue that is hindering God's work in our family, but he isn't interested in changing how he thinks, but this ends up affecting everyone else in a negative way and driving people away from the true character of who God is. I just don't know to do brother, I feel like the weight of my family is on my shoulders and all I have to rely on is God's strength🙏

If I may begin by saying, you’re never bothering me. I generally enjoy talking with followers of Jesus. Praying for you, for sure. I think for a starting point it’s important to understand that we simply must give up our right to have people agree with us. And we also need to understand that God is not going to force them to do that either. Meaning, that sometimes we need to remember we really cannot do much about our circumstances and other people's affections and attitudes. This means we need to keep our focus on ourselves and Jesus. I used to get so frustrated because there are so many people who don’t see the grace message, which oddly seems to be right there in front of us if we just open our hearts. I learned that it is not my problem to change their mind., their hearts, or attitudes. I plant a seed, and then leave it with God to water it. No doubt low self-esteem and anxiety run rampant in America. It’s often times because we’re trying to get our self-worth from how others view us. We’re also looking to those people to fulfill us. Let me encourage you (and your sister) to get your self-worth from how your heavenly Father views you. He’s crazy about you. He sees all kinds of value and beauty in you. He would never tear you down. So what should you do? Just exude the love of Christ. Honor your parents. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Pray. And then put all of these concerns on the shoulders of Jesus. Let Him do the heavy lifting. I can tell you that my father was always very tough on me. Way tougher than he should've been. Even in my adult years he's a bit disrespectful for sure. I just respect him and give up my right for him not to offend me. There are times I just want to yell at them. But no good will come out of it. God can work on your sister even when your father seems to be in the way. God is much bigger and no human can hinder His work. Let me encourage you to relax and just trust that Jesus is intimately involved and hears your heart. [Philippians 4:6-8] Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. I know this may not be what you were looking to hear. Your dad may never change. But then again he might. Your sister might make some bad choices for a month, year, or even longer. But believe me when I say this brother, Jesus is right there in the middle of it all. He’s gently guiding them. He’s counseling them. This is where we just throw our hands up and say “I give it all to you God”. And then we just have faith and trust that He is good. Avoid timelines for a response that you can see with your own eyes. And while he’s working, just show love and kindness. Praying for you brother

@@Red-Renegade-Studios My walk with God is amazing. Of course, if we’re all honest, we acknowledge that sometimes even the best of us feel like we’re on an emotional roller coaster and our walk has its highs and lows. We all stumble in many ways. But it’s my faith in him that always gets me back in the right direction. I’ve always found that my walk is best when life is throwing curveballs at me. It’s then that I make a decision to lean on Him and trust Him. It seems like the better things are, the more we start to drift away. There’s something about everything going right that distracts us from remembering our need for Jesus. While I do not want bad times, I’m able to be thankful for them because they serve as a constant reminder that I’ve got a pretty good partner on my side. He is taking me through family problems, marital problems, health problems, financial difficulties, etc. Life will always throw pain and suffering at us. I love what the apostle Paul said. He talked about having a little and having a lot. Being very hungry, or being well fed. He then goes on to say that he’s learned the secret to contentment is not about your circumstances. He can be content when he’s hungry, homeless, and when everything seems to be falling apart. He can do that because his source of contentment is not from his earthly circumstances, but rather in Christ. [Phil 4:11-13] Not that I speak from need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with LITTLE, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going HUNGRY, both of having abundance and SUFFERING NEED. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. I’m not sure where you’re getting this idea that anyone said they were sin in heaven, what you’re not getting them here. When you enter heaven, you will have a new body and will no longer be tempted by the evil one. We will no longer struggle with outward sin. However, if you're trying to suggest that anyone on earth who still struggles with sin won't enter the kingdom, even if they have received Jesus, that's completely wrong. As believers, our sins have been taken away, remembered no more, nailed to the cross. Every sin a believer commits has been fully paid for through the blood of Jesus, and no punishment remains. So, when we take our last breath, we can stand before Jesus with confidence, knowing that we will be presented as blameless. Any other teaching promotes a works-based salvation and is a total deception from the evil one. There's only one way you're going to receive that white robe in the end, and that's by knowing Jesus. If you're trying to earn that white robe by avoiding outward sin, I believe the teaches that you are in real danger, as it suggests you do not truly know Jesus and are trying to receive cleansing of sin through your performance, as opposed to trusting Jesus, through faith.

Hey, so I got a quick question for you. Have you ever heard of someone who like hears strange voices like one of their family members calling out to them from like down in the basement or in the attic? But then when the person goes to investigate they find nothing there. Some people claim it's paranormal while others say it could be a "skinwalker" if you believe in that stuff. I know since everything God created has an explanation I was curious as to what you may think it is. I think it might be Demons, but what are your thoughts? And what do you suppose skinwalkers are since people have "claimed" to have seen them. If God didn't create skinwalkers, then what is the person really seeing?🤔

You are right, the sin of unbelief not only applies to Jews, but all of humanity. We never said differently. :) I’m not sure how you can say I’m 'reading into the text’ after I gave a very detailed explanation as to how I drew this very obvious conclusion. I pointed out that in the first 10 chapters of Hebrews the author talks about sin, but the only type of sin he ever references is inward sin. At no point whatsoever is there a single line mentioning outward sin. So if you’re going to try to offer up a defense, you’ve got to explain and prove how this sin magically becomes outward sin....even though it never comes up. I invite that discussion. My friend, I would encourage you to take a review of our full verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter study of Hebrews. I think you will discover a deeper truth if you’re willing to be open minded and review these lessons. Start here ru-vid.com/group/PLhQyjIRTysSTOfcPjCDvyXmnhO1z_o1z1 Re: ‘be holy as I am’ You won’t exactly find it spelled out that way. But yu can find it written out something like ‘you shall be Holy, for I am Holy”. But there is a disconnect with your interpretation of how we become holy. You seem to think that we make ourselves holy for God through our performance. If you can make yourself holy, then why do you need Jesus to die on the cross? A deeper understanding of the word holy uncovers the true meaning. It means to be set apart. Absolutely, Christians are called to and should set their behavior apart. That is one biblical form of holy (physically). But that’s not how we get saved. We get saved through faith. And then Jesus makes us holy (spiritually). He set us aside for himself. And you can't get more holy (spiritually) through any type of effort, good works, or avoiding bad behavior. What you are trying to bring to the table is that if a Christian goes on willfully outward signing, then God will forsake them and send them to hell. You’re saying God will leave them. And that is just lifeless cult religion teaching. Your message flies in the face of the promises that God has made. He promises that he died for our sins. He took them away. When we are faithless he remains faithful. God said he will never leave us and never forsake us. My friend, you can choose to believe that the blood of Jesus (the solution) isn’t enough to cover your willful, though stupid, sin (the problem). But if that’s your theology please don’t try to convince me that you truly trust Jesus. Because if your theology is that Jesus only died for the sins up until the moment we received him, and then the gospel got worse afterward (because he would change his mind if we sinned again), I’m not buying it. The gospel doesn't get worse after receiving Jesus. It may sound super religious, but it lacks any biblical truth. And certainly doesn't put any confidence in Jesus. My friend, if you don’t think you wilfully sin, that makes you a liar and the truth is not in you. You know full well that we all stumble in many ways. That does not make it okay. But denying it is certainly not okay. So, I will once again reiterate, outward sin IS BAD. Let's avoid it. It's stupid. We are not made for sin. But don't reject the work of Jesus on the cross. How offensive that is to God. The only willful sin that leads to spiritual destruction is the sin of willfully rejecting Jesus. And if you don’t know that, you do not have a solid understanding of the gospel, and potentially don't really know him. I don't know.

@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 2 года назад
First, I want to be very clear. If you honestly believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and had full authority to be payment for the sins of man, and that he was resurrected from the dead so that we may have eternal life, then you are 100% unconditionally a child of God. Also, I want to be very clear that works are indeed an important part of the Christian life, but I also want to remind you to be very careful not to be getting out a measuring stick and incorrectly assuming that God is determining your salvation according to how MANY works you have. The Scriptures tell us that a believer CAN NOT produce bad fruit. But we know every Christian sins, so how can this be true? And the answer is that the fruit that God is examining is NOT YOUR works. He is examining the fruit of the SPIRIT. And Christians wrongfully start assuming that fruit is a bunch of religious churchy works like volunteering at the homeless center, going on mission trips, giving away money, etc. That is a total lie and you should run from it. What are the fruits of the Spirit? They are things like love, kindness, gentleness, etc. So you can give away all of your money, but if it’s not coming from the spirit that lives within you, all you did was give away your money, and God did not see it as fruit. On the other hand, I can simply put my arm around a homeless person and tell him I care about him, and if that came from the spirit, then that is the complete and perfect fruit to God. Now, to answer your question, yes, a person that is saved is supposed to have good works. And hopefully, you’ve discovered today that it’s not about how MANY works you have, but rather it’s about the quality of those works. There are many religious people that are doing everything they can to impress God, but actually have very few fruits because their effort is not coming from the spirit, but rather this idea that they think they are somehow impressing God with what they do. So let me encourage you not to measure the number of works, but rather look at who the works are coming from and know that one work from the spirit of Christ in you is far greater than 1000 works that were from you. I want to wrap up by giving you a quick example of my own personal story. I was obsessed with works in my early Christian walk. I remember a day that I felt like it’s been a long time since I did any amazing work for God. So, in an effort to show him how great a question I was I set out looking for something to do that would get him excited about me again. I came across a homeless man, and immediately I thought to myself “I’m going to give this guy a ton of money that’s really going to help him out”. So I parked my car, I got out a wad of cash and I handed it to him. In my mind that was a work that prove to God that I was worthy of the blood of Jesus and salvation. Boy did God quickly prove me wrong and revealed to me what an idiot I was. He instantly revealed to me that that work was not impressing him at all and it certainly was not a fruit. Acts 17:25 tells us that ‘God is not served by human hands is if he needed anything’. In other words, get over yourself Mike, you’re not doing anything that God can’t do without you. So stop pounding your chest because you gave a homeless guy a bunch of cash. What a self-righteous jerk I was that day. The homeless guy caught me off guard because he started talking to me as I tried to get back in my truck and continue my day. It was at that very moment that I looked in his eyes that I knew that more than anything that what this man needed was love. He needed companionship. So I took my religious arrogant ego and I flushed it down the toilet. I put my arm around the shoulder and sat down and we chatted for a very long time. I mostly just shut up and listen and let him pour out his heart. I will never forget the moment he looked at me and thanked me for just talking to him. It literally poured tears down my face, and it was at that moment that I knew this was a work that was coming from God and not my pride for religious arrogant self. That was a fruit that came from the Spirit. I can promise you this, God would rather me do that one time in 10 years than give homeless people money every month. Of course, I’m not implying that there are no times we give away money that doesn’t come from the Spirit. But as Christians, we can obsess with outward performance. This was my story and I hope it helped you in some way. Lastly, to your question, how do I know that I’m truly saved? You can start answering that question by refusing to measure your outward performance as a means of answering that question. That is a lie from the evil one, and it doesn’t matter how big his churches are or how many people are following them. Do not be deceived, my friend. If you want to know that you are truly saved, all you have to do is ask yourself one question: "Do I believe that Jesus died for my sins, had the power to do it, and was resurrected from the dead to give me eternal life with him and his kingdom"? If you have ever trusted in Jesus as your only resource for being rescued from the wages of sin, you are indeed fully heaven-ready. And for those that are obsessed with works, they don't have any real motivation to actually do good. All they're doing is religious garbage. It is when we realize we are saved completely apart from our outward effort that we find the greatest motivation to exude the love of Christ and ultimately do more good things. And when we're doing things truly from the heart, that is when things go from human wWorks to spiritual fruit. Meeting two people can both give away $100, and one can be nothing more than a human lifeless work and the other a beautiful fruit from Christ within you. I hope that helped.

@@Red-Renegade-Studios Re: So basically "good fruits" are God acting through you and using you to impact others right? Yes! Spot on brother. However, on your other comment, strangely enough, it is possible for unbelievers to share the gospel and others here and believe it. They’re not actually doing the saving, God is. There are a lot of unbelieving preachers in this world. They simply share the words from the Bible. But if someone on the other end hears it and believes it, they are safe regardless of the faith of the person who uttered the words of the gospel message. Regarding bad fruit. Believers can only produce good fruit because the fruit being examined is that from the spirit which lives in them. The reason a person who is not saved can only produce bad fruit is that, in truth, they have no fruit at all, mainly because they don’t have any Spirit of Christ in them. In the same way that you are either a believer or an unbeliever, you either produce good fruit or you produce bad fruit. There’s no in-between.
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 2 года назад
One more thought on good and bad fruit. Think of it this way. An apple tree always produces apples. I cannot produce strawberries or pineapple. So, trees can only produce the kind of fruit that they are. In the spiritual world, there are two types of trees. There are trees that are alive in Christ, and there are trees that are dead in Adam. If you are in Christ, he is the vine, we are the branches. It is impossible for Christ to produce any fruit other than good fruit. If you are dead in Adam, you can only produce one kind of fruit. Dead fruit. And I love the symbolism here. It takes us back to the garden where we saw there were two trees. The tree of life - which would represent Jesus, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil-which would represent spiritual death. You can only be one of those two trees. And God does not produce bad fruit. He produces eternal life, joy, peace, etc. :)

This is what it says: For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, If you were to go back and read chapters 1- through 10 here's what you will not find. You will not find even one mention of outward sin. There's no discussion about lying, murder, adultery, or any other type of outward sin. The first 10 chapters are dedicated to addressing only one type of sin. Inward sin. The sin of Unbelief. So, When we get to Hebrews 10:26, the writer is driving home the following point (reworded): 'For if we go on willfully denying Jesus after receiving the knowledge of the truth about him, they are no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Because he is the only acceptable sacrifice for sins, And denying him is the one and only wilful sin that will not be forgiven'. Does that help? If by chance you would like any commentary on any chapter in Hebrews, I've done a verse by verse study that may help you see this differently. jesuswithoutreligion.com/bible-study-online/hebrews/

@Julie I think the writer was specific in verse 26. If you read the first 10 chapters of Hebrews you were not going to find even one verse talking about outward sin. No mention of lying. No mention of adultery. No mention of stealing, coveting, etc. The only sin the writer discusses is the evil sin of unbelief. It’s also important to keep in mind that it’s very difficult translating the Hebrew language or Greek into English. But we can definitely tell that the writer was talking about unbelief because that’s the only thing that has been in the entire discussion. There’s no more sacrifice because Jesus is the only sacrifice. You can’t reject Jesus and then find another acceptable sacrifice at the altar. Bulls and goats won’t cut it. The ‘we’ is not believers. Hebrews are Jewish people. Again I encourage you to find one verse in chapters 1 - 10 that refer to any other kind of sin, other than unbelief. The writer can say 'we' and still be accurate and not being an unbeliever. For example, I could be talking to a bunch of smokers, and say “if we’re going to smoke we may possibly get cancer”, yeah that doesn’t mean that I am a smoker. I’m simply saying anyone who smokes is subject to getting cancer. In this case the ride or saying if we, meaning anyone, willfully deny Jesus Christ, they are no longer remains a sacrifice for any of us that would do that. The King James version is OK but I’m not a big fan. As a matter fact, most scholars agree king James was not a believer. So why even call his version the only correct one.? This king just wanted his name known. I honestly have no idea why people give him so much attention. And keep in mind he came on the scene 1500+ years after Jesus. So I’m not sure why people think it took God 1500 years to get it right. Can I offer you were suggesting that I think will give your heart peace? I did a video series teaching the book of Hebrews. I really believe if you will listen to these videos in order you will discover that what I am sharing with you is correct. But it’s easier for you to hear the entire letter than just focus on one verse. Here a link to them. ru-vid.com/group/PLhQyjIRTysSTOfcPjCDvyXmnhO1z_o1z1

How do I destroy my willful sin and my love for sin?
@jesuswithoutreligion
@jesuswithoutreligion 7 месяцев назад
If you are looking after the mosiac law as a means of doing right, stop. All that does is produce in you more love for sin. Instead, trust Jesus. Paul struggled with coveting. He said the law made him struggle worse. He then said the secret to overcoming is was to be APART from the law. [Romans 7:8] But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead. 8 But sin used this command to arouse all kinds of covetous desires within me! If there were no law, sin would not have that power.

@@StarWarsMasters this is where I think it gets a little tricky for some people, because if we don't listen, carefully, we could easily think we are teaching something that we are not. So first, let me begin by saying no Christians should lie, cheat, steel, commit, adultery, etc. But your goal is not to get up every day and focus on a list of "THOU SHALT NOT". Instead, the goal is to focus on Jesus. Many think they can actually keep certain parts of the law. But the reality is they cannot. Jesus exposed how perfect and holy the law is. Look with loves? You are completely guilty of adultery. Angry with a brother? Guilty of murder. And perhaps somebody isn't that very small percentage of people who have never looked with lust. If possible, James teaches us that if they kept the entire law perfectly, but stumbled at even one point, they have become guilty of it ALL - James 2:9-10. You see the law does not grade on a curve. You don't get a 99%. You either get a 0%, eternal, death, or 100%, eternal life. The Scriptures teach us that no one will be found righteous through the law - Rom 3:20. 2 Cor 3:9 tells us that the law is a ministry of condemnation and death! So why would anyone want to chase after a law that only brings condemnation and death? So now I feel comfortable answering your question. Which part of the law still applies? In the answer is none of it. Jesus is the end of the law for all who believe. Rom 10:4 You are not under law, but under grace. Rom 6:14 You see, this idea that being under the law somehow makes us a better person is a deception from the evil one. The Scriptures tell us that the law came in so sin would increase. It turns out, when you're trying to chase after a system for pleasing God, you're gonna end up failing every time. Adam and Eve fell for the same line. They were allowed to eat freely from the tree of life, which is a picture of Jesus.. But they wanted to be awake, knowing good and evil, so they broke the only rule they had. They were not supposed to eat from the tree of "knowledge of good and evil." Think about the name of that tree for a moment. This knowledge of good and evil is the same thing we're trying to get from the law.. We think the law gives us the knowledge of right and wrong, and it will make us perform better, and please God. But when Adam and Eve ate from the tree, immediately spiritually died. Christians are doing the same thing when they're eating from the tree of the law. Immediately condemned. So instead of chasing after a system, let's do what God wanted from Adam and Eve, in the very beginning. He was always enough for them. He's all we need today. And strangely enough, when we chase after him, instead of a system of rules, he will not lead us to sin. But what do we do when we sin? God doesn't want you to feel dirty and distant. He doesn't want you to feel unworthy.. He has already taken that sin away on the cross. He remembers it no more. So what do we do then? The answer simple. Stop the sin. Be thankful that he's already made you. Holy in perfect, and you will be presented blameless on judgment day. Always remember he is enough. Side Note: in America, it is against the law to murder people. But the law doesn't prevent evil people from doing that. Literally thousands of people are murdered every day in the law is the last thing they're thinking about. The reason someone like you and I would not steal from someone it isn't because were afraid we will go to jail. We don't do it because we know what's wrong. Human law is not fair to prevent murder. Our law exists to offer up the punishment when somebody does it. In the same way, the mosaic law does not exist so humans won't lie, cheat, and commit adultery. All it does is offer a punishment. This is why you need to be completely free from the law and under grace. If you're under the law, you're thinking that you have the ability to be righteous apart from Christ. And the result will be eternal punishment. It is only when we realize that that wall is so perfect and so holy that we need a savior to rescue us from it.. The Scriptures tell us that the law shut every mouth up. It does that because when we realize how perfect it is, we quickly realize how desperate we are for a better covenant founded on better promises.

To be clear, no human being has ever overcome sin. To make such a statement would a massive exaggeration of what has happened to us at salvation. If the power of God by default allowed us to all overcome sin there will be absolutely no reason for even one verse calling us to avoid poor choices. Which we absolutely SHOULD make every reasonable effort to do so. Indeed, we have overcome the law of sin and death. Our sins have been taken away. All one needs to do is read the letter to the Corinthians, and we realize Christians are very capable of sin. But here’s something you’re not going to find in that letter. You’re not going to find any reference suggesting they were ‘denying the power of God’. In fact, what we really see is the exact opposite. They were so excited about the 'power of God' that they were abusing the Grace they were lavished with. They knew their sins were paid for. They knew the power of the cross was much greater than any amount of sins they could commit. And they took advantage of the grace of God to please their flesh. Of course, I am not defending the choices of the Corinthians. What I’m defending is what God has done for his children. Including those that makes stupid decisions. I’m always shocked when I hear comments like “our sins separate us from God”. Forgive me, if you were referring to unbelievers, but the way it reads suggest that you were referring to believers. If so, my friend, I assume you mean well, but that really is complete nonsense. Our sins have been taken away. Remembered no more. Completely and fully paid for. That gap has been bridged permanently for Christians. So when someone says our sins separate us from God, it rejects the promise that when we were faithless he would remain faithful. It rejects the promise that he would never leave us. It rejects this promise that the blood of Jesus was the propitiation for our sins. Anyone who solicits doom in hellfire to Christians is a liar, and the truth is not in them. These are the cult of the worst kind. On the outside, it sounds like they trust Jesus, but they're very core. They do not trust. Jesus died on the cross for anyone who will call on him. All of the trust is in human righteousness and human effort. And sadly, it is highly unlikely those people will ever inherit the King, unless very open their eyes and really seek and get to know Jesus.

He died was buried and rose on the third day He is our Lord and Saviour. If we could pay for any of our sins Jesus would have died needlessly. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain We are saved by grace through faith, not of ourselves. It is a gift of God not of works least anyone boast. We unfortunately in these fleshly bodies will still sin until we get our glorified bodies at the rapture. Our Spirit, Christ in us can never sin We walk led by the Holy Spirit, and any good we do is Christ working in and through us. He is the vine we are the branches. We can do nothing without Him 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Born again Christians DON'T willfully sin. That's why this doesn't apply to us, but to Jews in the tribulation. Romans 7 makes it very clear that when we sin, it's not from our will, but it's the flesh. Our spirit, the new man does not and cannot sin, just as 1 John 3:9 clearly says. If people only understood Romans 7, there would not be sooo much confusion regarding sin. No, we do not sin on purpose, we sin through temptation and ignorance. That's not on purpose. On purpose is if you plan to do it on a sober mind, like the unsaved do. Again, Paul makes it abundantly clear. "Now if I do what I will not to do [sinning], it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me." (Rom 7:20 NKJV) And by the way, these people adressed in Hebrews 10:26 can't be unbelievers because it says in verse 29 that they were sanctified by the blood of Christ! We are sanctified by faith in Christ, so these MUST be believers. But I believe they are believers in the tribulation, at which time there is no new birth, so that you can still willfully sin unlike as a born again Christian. I believe they will be sanctified through faith, but not born again in the spirit.

Anyone who says born-again Christians don’t willfully sin should consider reading the 1 Corinthians. You would have to commit intellectual suicide to: 1-say these people we’re not Christians 2-say, these people were not only committing, willful sin, but they were doing quite a bit of it. Indeed, the evil one attacks us through the flesh. That’s the vessel. He tempts us and lies to us. But to say we don’t have free will to choose to engage in that sin, or avoid it, is not scriptural, in my view. If Christians could not willfully sin there will be absolutely no purpose for even one verse regarding avoiding poor choices and bad decisions. Those verses exist because we do have free will to sin or avoid sin. Re: 1 John 3:9 - No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God. This does not say Christians do not willfully sin. The keyword is ‘practices’. It’s about an identity. I played basketball here in there with my son, but I don’t practice basketball. LeBron James, on the other hand, does practice basketball. It’s who he is. And to drive this point further, I would like to use the SAME author in the SAME letter, who would agree with this: 1 JOHN 2:1 I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. BUT if anyone SINS, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous So of course, John does not want us sinning, but he’s not naïve either. So he’s writing these things so that we will make good choices, while at the same time, acknowledging if we do sin, Jesus has already made the payment. Yes Paul does write: Now if I do what I will not to do [sinning], it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me However, Paul is not passing the buck for his choices. The point he’s making is that he is not the source of sin. He is acknowledging that there’s a real force at work. But you should not think for a moment that Paul is not free to avoid coveting or whatever type of sin. Again, if Christians literally could not willfully make these choices, there would not be a one verse in all of scripture, calling us to behave, and live out, godly lives. Clearly, the heart of God is acknowledging that we still live in broken bodies, and we need to make proper choices. My concern with your theology as you might see someone like the Corinthians. Here they were engaged in sexual sin, abusing the Lord, supper, and all kinds of craziness.. People who hold your view would be staring down their nose at them telling them they're not Christians and their Hellbound. But the apostle Paul writes them and caused them saints. He tells them they will be presented as blameless in the end. He tells them they lack no spiritual gifts.. Indeed, he's going to call out their behavior, but he doesn't come within 1,000,000 feet of calling out their Christianity. And he works overtime to make sure he begins his letter by addressing their identity first, and their behavior last. And if anyone tries to tell me that the Corinthians we're not making these choices, willfully, then I'd say why in the world, are you bothering to tell them to stop doing them if they have no choice? I’m trying to be as respectful as I can, but I think this is dangerous doctrine when people start teaching the stuff that Christians don’t willfully sin. I honestly believe when people say that they are making God a liar, and the truth is not in them. I don’t know if that describes you, or if you’ve just been incorrectly informed. And yes, it’s OK to disagree, but unfortunately, this is one of those things I definitely want to give quite a bit of pushback on. I get pushed back because the last thing I want is to have a Christian reading your comment, who, at the moment may be struggling somewhere in his life, only to suddenly feel like he needs to doubt his Christianity, because of his human performance, which would totally undermine his/her faith.

Hi um... It's me again. I just wanted to ask you something if you don't mind. I haven't exactly had the best relationship with God and that could be why He's put me in the position. A little backstory before I begin. So first off, I'm not really a super confident person, and that's mainly from the hom that I've grown up in. With my Dad expecting a lot from me at a young age and my Mom babying me at the 23. I know she means well, but I can sense deep down that she wants to keep me at home because deep down she finds purpose in keeping me home. Since her relationship with my Dad isn't exactly the best. And I feel like I'm so used to like this comfort zone that I've developed no drive to want to leave. But I know I have to. Anyway, I was just wondering how did you know what decision God wanted you to make when you had to choose between something. Because on one hand I'd love to stay home, but that's not something that's gonna help me get out there. But I also don't wanna be forced to take a job that I myself don't want. But then again, if I don't force myself to do something or to find a job I never will. And then there's my sister who's telling me that I have to start making my own decisions so I can feel independent about myself. That I have to push myself to find a job, to make a name for myself, and she's right. It's just finding the strength to do that. I just hear all these voices telling me to do so many different things. That I don't even know what I want😓 because my whole life I've had other people make those decisions that I should be making for myself. And right now, I'm just so overwhelmed of what needs to be done, what should be done, and what shouldn't be done. It's funny I feel like I hear every voice except God's, who I really wan to hear the most. But I'm not sure if He's saying anything or.... Ugh! I just don't what to do! I'm so conflicted and I just wanna be at peace and rest in God's comfort... I feel like the weight of my decisions is like life and death. This weight upon my shoulders is so much that I just can't deal with it. I feel like I could pray about this, and ask for Him to give me direction. But there's no telling how long it will take for His response. Whether or not He'll even respond, or if He wants me to choose for myself... I'm sorry to dump all this on you. But you're the only one who's been able to give me a clear image of who God is. And I feel like if anyone can tell me how I can hear from God and how I can surrender all this stress it would be you. Thank you for reading this.

Ahhh, great question. And one we get a lot. We hear differently of course. Sometimes people say how do you know which job God wants you to accept, or which house he wants you to buy, or where he wants you to invest, etc. My first response to you would be to simply ask God for wisdom. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you - James 1:5. But let me be clear it is highly unlikely that this wisdom will be God telling you what job to take, what house to buy, or what decision to make when choosing something. My answer might surprise you a little. God is not overly concerned with which decision you make on things like these. So you may have three doors to choose from, and I can promise you that whichever door you choose to walk through, God is going to be on the other side. So wisdom isn’t making decisions for us. We asked for wisdom so perhaps we see more clearly as we make our own decision. So please now, God’s promise is not to make your decisions for you. His promise is to be with you no matter what decision you make. And if you make a bad decision or one that does not work out God is not in any way going to be upset with you. It’s OK to choose wrong sometimes. We all do that eventually. So regarding what job you might take or when you might move out, just pray on it each night. Ask God for wisdom. But don’t feel like you’ve done something wrong if you don’t get an answer. Don’t confuse getting an answer we’ve been given spiritual wisdom. They are not the same thing as many people try to teach. If I may inspire you with a personal story of my own. I had a business that I ran for 10 years. We did Bible studies once a day, I had little Bible tracts to hand out to people. We were charitable and gave our time to the community. I gave the entire business to Jesus. I had about 35 employees running $2 million in annual revenue. Unfortunately, I was extremely stressed. And with all that revenue I was only earning about $150,000 a year. So while we look big, we weren’t actually all that successful. But we stayed committed to devoting the company to Jesus. Then one day the bottom started falling out - out of nowhere. One client filed for bankruptcy and didn’t pay us. Another huge client wrongfully canceled their agreement early. I prayed for God to show me what I need to do. I remember being in the middle of my office after we had closed crying and begging God to show me what to do. After all, I gave him 10 years of my life through this business. I never got an answer. And believe it or not, the wisdom I got from God at the time was not what I thought was wisdom. Unfortunately, I knew I had to close the shop. How could that be wisdom I thought? I felt like I did everything for Him and He abandoned me. Fast forward to today. I am a successful marketing company. I only have to deal with three employees. I earn substantially more than I ever did running that large company. I have literally zero stress and I enjoy everything so much more. The point is what I thought was some kind of punishment or lack of wisdom turned out to be one of the greatest gifts I ever imagined. But sometimes you can’t see it in the moment. So they take away is be very careful that you don’t expect wisdom as some type of clear direction on what you should do. It may seem like crickets for a while. Just lean on the promise that he said he will ‘never leave you or forsake you’. So it seems like he’s not there, remember he certainly is. Lastly, as you begin to make these decisions it’s important to remember that it’s OK to fail. It’s OK to fall flat on your face. The Apostle Paul talked about there were times when he had nothing and other times when he had plenty. There were times when he was very hungry and poor, and other times where he had much. He discovers that his secret to contentment is not by his earthly possessions or how much he has or how successful he is. His contentment comes from knowing Jesus. You probably know that story because people abuse the final point where he says he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him. Paul’s not talking about he can get any job or do anything all he asked to do with him Jesus do it. Paul’s pointer is that he can get through anything no matter how bad the circumstance because he has Jesus to comfort him. And the point is don’t let your circumstance reflect how God thinks about you. He loves you. He’s crazy about you. EVEN WHEN YOU MAKE BAD CHOICES [Philippians 4:11-13] Not that I speak [from need, for I have learned to be content in whatever CIRCUMSTANCES I am. I know how to get along with LITTLE, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and EVERY circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going HUNGRY, both of having abundance and SUFFERING need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. He will never leave you. Always see Him with His arms wrapped around you. We have a great Father indeed.

So how do you know when someone else knows what's best for you and when they're just trying to dictate your life? Like for example, I got an interview a few days ago and I didn't get the job on the spot like my sister did. Everyone is telling me to call them back. But deep down I'm not sure if I really wanna work there. Does that make sense? Like how can I tell the difference between me not wanting to do something, when I'm simply too scared to do something and when I'm being pressured by other people to do something?

@@Red-Renegade-Studios If I were you, I would ask for wisdom, and look for a job that peaks your interest. If you are offered a job you like, take it and know full well that no matter what job you take God is going to be there and he’s not going to be disappointed. God is not shocked when people are shy. He created you. Plenty of intelligent adults rely on family and friends and coworkers to help them find gainful employment. Nothing wrong with that. What’s important is not how you get the job, but rather that we are responsible and at least try to get a job. Assuming your circumstance requires it. With my kids, I taught them that the job is a job. It’s great if we can find one that we really enjoy and are passionate about, but for a season you may need to just take one to get you through. If I trust someone I will listen to their input. If I think their motives are wrong I will listen but not act on their advice. Trust your intuition. Talk to people that you trust and get input from them. Personally, when I went on interviews, if I did not hear back from someone I would absolutely call them. I’ve had many of people who had to call me back. Sometimes employers get very busy and let things fall through the crack. The worst thing that could happen is they could say 'no'. And again, it’s OK to fail. My advice to you is to start there. Be willing to fail. Be willing to completely get it all wrong. Give up your right to be perfect. When we’re willing to fail will have a lot more confidence because we’re not setting overly high expectations. Being willing to fail doesn’t mean wanting or trying to fail. What do you love? For example, someone who loves animals may want to do something in that industry. And in the interview they might sell themselves better because the employer sees how much of a desire you have to help animals. Or, it may be necessary to take a job that’s not necessarily what you want to do. I want to be careful about the consult that I give in terms of what jobs you might consider. But very happy to help with any spiritual questions. I guess the bigger takeaway I hope you will get is that it doesn’t matter which door you walk through. You can choose any job you want and God’s going to be on the other side. I would strongly encourage you not to overthink it. But believe in yourself. Go for the dream job. If you don’t get it, then so be it. Certainly there’s a job out there for you. Be willing to start somewhere even if it may not be the perfect job. And most importantly, remember the apostle Paul. Learn to be content regardless of your circumstance. This is all temporary. Good luck!

While I would never ever condone a lifestyle of ungodliness or sin, if you have ever called on Jesus to save you, there is no amount of deliberate sin that can revoke your salvation. The theology about losing salvation is a cult message. What you’re referring to comes from a very bad understanding from people who misunderstand the letter of Hebrews. The deliberate sin referred to in Hebrews is referring to inward sin. The sin of unbelief. The author was saying if you deliberately reject Jesus, there is no other sacrifice for sin. I encourage you to read the first 10 chapters of Hebrews and you’ll discover there is not one mention of outward sin. The only type of sins discussed is the sin of unbelief. If you’re interested we also did a full video studies on Hebrews. You my friend have been rescued, and I promise you no amount of sin whatever ever outweigh the blood that took it away. Rest in Christ. You are indeed now God‘s child, and God will never ever leave you or forsake you. ;)

Thanks for your question. First, I think it’s important that you know, you just described about 75% of all honest Christians. I want to begin by assuring you of your salvation. Your security has absolutely zero to do with your struggles with sin. If you could fully overcome it, then Jesus die needlessly. So I need you to know that, even if you never stop whatever it is that has its claws in you, that is not going to change your position with God. Some might think that’s me being light on sin. It’s not. Sin is BAD. But what I’m doing is being heavy on Jesus. Please remember, when we doubt salvation, it’s usually because we’re looking at us. We’re asking did I do enough to save myself? That’s because a lot of evil people are teaching that message of law based salvation. So be reminded that it is by grace you are saved, through faith, it is not of yourself, it is a gift. So that can lead us to the next question. How can you overcome this sin? The truth is, you may never stop this. That doesn’t mean you won’t or can’t significantly improve. Just don’t let this be some type of measuring stick for your salvation. Let me give you some advice on how to beat the struggle. Start by telling yourself that this evil desire to do whatever it is you’re doing is not originating in your heart. It may feel like it because, after all, you’re thinking it and you’re doing it. But the scriptures are very clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood. Sin is a real external power. It is not a power that originates inside of you.. The evil one knows your weakness, and will do everything he can to tempt you to keep doing it. And to the extent that he does, he knows he’s winning because he’s already got you doubting that your salvation is secure in Christ, and wrongfully assuming it is secure in your performance. Here's what you can do. Began by recognizing this desire is coming from an external source. That’s not always enough to beat this struggle. So, next you need to be fully convinced of what Jesus has said about you. He said he will be presented as blameless on judgment day. He said, as far as the west is from the east, so he has taken your sin away. He said when you are faithless, he will remain faithful. He said your sins and lawless deeds he remembers no more. He said you were not under law, but under grace. He said you are holy. Sanctify. Justified. A royal priesthood. Cleansed. Why do I think it’s important for you to soak in this Grace? It’s because it is grace that leads us to repentance. Let me break that down. If you get up every day and look at your struggles, and start to feel like you’re nothing but a dirty worm, not worthy of salvation, distant, and far from God, you will surely continue to live out that identity. After all, if you’re convinced that that’s who you are, what’s the point of trying to be someone else. So going forward, even after you have struggled with whatever sin it is, you’re dealing with, get up and say to myself, I am a holy blameless child of God. I acknowledge what I did is not what I made for. God has made me for good works, and I pray that he will help lead me, grow me, and teach me. I know that God will never depart from me because he loves me, and he died on the cross, because he knew I was not able to perform well enough to save myself. The more you teach yourself that God sees you as clean and perfect, the more you will learn to say no to the very sin that entangles you. You simply must recognize that God does not see you the way the world is. He took care of that on the cross. [Gal 2:21] I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. NIV I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing - [1 John 4:17] Just as he is, so are we in this world [Hebrews 13:5] I will never leave you or forsake you

Re: Jewish Believers. I said, for the most part, that the author is writing Jewish UNBELIEVERS. I think that was just a typo on your part. No worries. I’m also not too sure I want to engage in a conversation whose first response is wildly cocky using words like ‘wimpy’. At the very least, if we’re going to disagree, let’s at least try to show a little bit of Jesus in the discussion. If you choose to walk away seeing the letter of Hebrews as the teaching of losing salvation, you’re certainly entitled to that view. I did a verse by verse study of the entire letter, and I showed no less than 50 examples that clearly illustrated that the context of this letter is almost entirely addressing unbelieving Jews. One of the greatest examples I gave was pointing out that in the first 10 chapters you will not find even one reference to outward sin. No lying, cheating, no adultery, no fornicating, nothing. The only type of sin ever mention was inward. The sin of unbelief. I'm not sure why it shocks people that God might have a heart to preach to unbelievers through his letters and save other souls. In chapter 10 we find again the author has made no mention of outward sin. He starts talking about the taking away of the old covenant through law, and introducing a new one that is pounded through Christ. Then in verse 26 he brings up the word ‘sin’ again. “For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins” So if there has been no mention made of outward sin, then what kind of sin is he talking about? We know that it has something to do with receiving the knowledge of the truth. What was his knowledge? Was it not the knowledge of Christ crucified and resurrected to bring in the new promises founded on better hopes. I think it would be helpful if you considered reviewing our studies beginning with Hebrews chapter 1. Unfortunately, there’s horrifically bad teaching surrounding this letter, and you really do need to work your way from the beginning to understand the context as we have brought it out. I have to be very honest here. I don't know why it is, but I find the people who are in the crowd of believing in losing salvation tend to be the meanest most hateful people when having discussions about the Scriptures. It's usually not enough for them to have civil discourse, but rather they will demand that you agree with them. I really am happy to have this discussion with you, but I have to be honest, if you start tossing around insulting words like ‘wimpy worst version’ I will just delete and block you from this channel. Let’s show the world Jesus. Let’s show people what it looks like to forgive others who don’t agree necessarily with you. Let’s show people how to be respectful and kind.

Brother, I know you brought this up earlier and told me to leave it in God's hands. And it looks like I might just have to. Because I'm trying to be the middle man and explain both sides of like my families point of view on things, but it's like the opposing person just isn't willing to see the other person's point of view. Like, I'm trying to explain how my siblings see my parents but it's like I'm walking on eggshells, like no matter how I put it they're each acting like it's a personal attack. Like they say they want to tell us what they've done wrong, but then when we tell them, they're like, "Oh so you're saying that I'm a bad person? You're words are hurting me." It's like no matter how you put it, even if it's in a kind understanding manner. They aren't going to change simply because everytime you try to tell them how they can fix the problem, they think you're just attacking them. And this circle just keeps going and going. Like, everyone just isn't willing to see the other person's point of view. And I'm just wondering brother, if there's even a chance for change in my family... It's like I'm the only one who can see both sides of the spectrum, but no one is willing to see it that way. Like we can't tell my Mom what she needs to change, because she immediately thinks the world is against her instead of seeing as us trying to help her. And I don't know how to convince her that we're not attacking her. She says she wants us to be open, but then everytime we are she either thinks she's the problem, or that we're attacking her. And then she always ends up expecting the worst, when we're struggling with Porn or whatever. It's like she very distrustful of other people, when she really doesn't have to be, but she still puts that burden on her shoulders. And then when she assumes things, then it makes us feel like she not taking the time to relate to what we're struggling with. That's kind of why my sister is struggling with her life choices, is because she tends to already assume bag things abiut her, so that doesn't encourage her tk be better. But my sister also sees it as judgement and has spite towards her. Even though what my Mom is telling her is correct, she shouldn't be making those decisions. Does this make sense?😓 Basically everyone in my family has different views on things, but we are not allowed to share ANYTHING! So we just keep it inside, so NOTHING gets fixed and we just keep going in a circle. Because either someone gets offended by something or they don't understand how to fix it and they get upset. I just don't know what to do brother... This sounds so complicated that I don't think I'll even be able to fix this mess...

It’s very easy for things to feel personal when someone is pointing out our flaws. Even if we know we're wrong, we're gonna be offended when someone points out our mistakes. It's just a natural human reaction. One of the difficult things in Christianity is to be willing to give up our right to be respected. Give up our right to be treated well. Give up our right for things to go the way we want them to. That doesn’t mean I want those things. But we need to be willing to find contentment even in the face of those things.. Easier said than done. Please don’t think I’m suggesting that it’s simple. But it is important that we strive to do that. I used to work for an employer that was very mean. He had a terrible attitude. I was probably his most loyal employee and respected all corporate policies. I did as I was told and never pushed back. He was full of insults and discouraging words. The man tore me down every single day. Aside from him, I really liked the job and the people I worked with. And I literally learned to recognize that his meanness did not necessarily need to dictate my attitude. I gave up my right to have my boss honor me for being a great employee. And regardless of how terrible of a boss he was, I honored him and treated him with complete respect. I never called him out for his arrogance and hostile attitude. There was nothing to gain from it. And while I hope one day he would change, he never did. I worked there 16 years. So, your family may or may never change. That’s why you cannot get your contentment from your circumstances. I believe that a large part of everyone’s character is a result of their entire life and tens of thousands of things that happened to us over the years. There’s probably something completely unbeknownst to you that is driving the way your family thinks and speaks. While it may not be appropriate, if you could see their entire life and every interaction in a split second you very likely would suddenly say “no wonder they behave this way”. More than words or showing your parents where you think they’re wrong, your actions and affections would speak much louder volumes. Let me encourage you just to exude the love of Christ, lots of grace, and lots of forgiveness toward your parents…….. Even when they’re wrong. Let’s circle this back to Jesus. You’re describing the exact situation Jesus dealt with. Jesus never did a single thing wrong. Never sinned against anyone. He was kind and gentle to everyone. But for the most part, he was never accepted. [Luke 4:24] Amen I say to you, that no prophet is accepted in his own country. As you know, not only was he not accepted, this escalated to the point of them nailing him to a cross and killing him. But even in the middle of our sin and total rejection of Him, he did not let that impact his attitude towards us. It didn’t matter if you were a liar, an adulterer, or a drunkard, while we were slam in the middle of our sin, Jesus gave died for us. He showed us grace. Forgiveness. Compassion. [Romans 5:8] But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. So Jesus did not wait until we got our act together before he showed his love and poured his heart into us. Jesus loved us right where we were. And as children of God, God wants you to love others (your parents too) right where they are. [John 15:12-13] “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. So Jesus is the example. With your family you’re describing a very similar situation. In this case, perhaps your family would be symbolic for the people that were not respecting Jesus, and you would be symbolic for Christ. In order for you to live it out, show your parents grace, forgiveness, and respect even when they haven't exactly earned it. That doesn’t mean be a doormat. For example, if somebody was violent towards you I would not imply that Jesus would call you to just be beat up on. But I am saying our threshold towards bad attitudes or improper thinking really needs to be stretched out. And when you learn to find contentment when other people treat you badly, and yet you still exude grace, you will be happier than you ever have before. Romans talks about there being hostile Government leaders and people in power. Interestingly enough, the scriptures tell us that we are to respect them. Even though they may be evil people, God reminds us that he installed them. No one is in power unless God puts them there. The same would be with my former boss, and your parents. God has put them in authority over you. [Romans 13:1-2] Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. I should point out that where that first talks about condemnation, it is not referring to condemnation from God. It's talking about condemnation for those in authority over you when you disrespect them. Take Away: it's for your life that you will show them the world and your family Jesus. Show breaks when they don't deserve it. Forgive them when they don't earn it or do you wrong. Your goal is not to change them. Your goal is to love them and let Christ do the changing. And they may or may not ever do that. Regardless of their decision, you do have a choice. And I hope you will choose to let everyone around you be utterly surprised at how much grace you have in the middle of it all. That is the greatest way to lead people to Jesus. We'd love to see people but seem to be able to forgive in times when the other person doesn't really deserve it. And remember, we didn't deserve the grace Jesus poured out on us. We deserve his wrath. But he was an example of what real love looks like. Hope that helps.

That teaching my sound ominous and maybe even a little impressive coming from the pulpit on Sunday morning as the leader pushes this message, but there’s one place you’re not going to find such teaching. In the scripture. What Charles has just presented says Jesus’s death on the cross was to take away your sin, unless you sin openly. Anyone who has ever read the letter to the Corinthians knows that this was a group that was doing all kinds of prideful open sin. And there’s not one threatening verse to where we see the teaching from Charles. Yes, sin is bad. Let’s agree and let’s turn from it. But let’s not join these people who want to water down the work of Jesus. Sin = The Problem (from man-Adam) Blood = the Solution (From Jesus) [Romans 5:15-16] But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one offense, resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, resulting in justification.

@@charleshughes1141 No real Christian ‘supports’ gay pride or ‘curses the church’ and all the other stuff you listed. You are conflating two important matters. You are conflating forgiveness of sin with condoning sin. God forgave our sins, but He never once condoned them. Why would you? We are not saved by avoiding homosexuality. God's blood is just as sufficient for their sin as it is for the guy who struggles with looking with lust, alcohol, etc. We ALL have the same problem and we all need the same solution. Jesus. Let's not put sins in buckets and pick and chose which ones we washed by the blood of Jesus. Again, I point you to the letter to the Corinthians. Should we start listing all the disgusting since they were guilty of? • Orgies • Lust • Drunkenness • Abuse of the Lord's supper • Gluttony By today's stands, if we saw that in a local church we would says they were all hell bound. And we'd be wrong. We would have to commit intellectual suicide to read that letter and not see that they are children of God, at no point do we see their disgusting behavior being applauded. Now, I have noticed that sometimes people like to go all the way to the edge with this. Just like you did with this suggestion of raping kids. That seems to be more of a desperate attempt to make your case than it was having a Christian debate on how big God's grace is. Christians can be guilty of all kinds of sin, but I find it highly improbable that someone with the Spirit of God living in them is going to move toward that evil act. But if they did, the blood is still much bigger than the sin. And again, it would be highly unlikely we see Christians murdering and raping people. It's one thing to sin against your own body, and another to commit violent crimes against another. Now to touch on your final line. You seem to suggest that if God’s grace is so big then why not go on enjoying sin while you can. This is literally beginning to sound like something the apostle Paul wrote about. It turns out when you’re sharing the true gospel of grace people will accuse you of condoning sin and poor behavior. Which is really what you’re doing right now. Unfortunately, the goodness of God is offensive to the religious ego. They question how could God’s grace be that big, and they imply that anyone who thinks God’s grace is unlimited to his children must be pushing a theology that supports sin....i.e. gay pride. Paul says the following in Romans 6:2: “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?” And you see, this question would only come up when you’re sharing the real gospel. A legalist would never have to answer this question because a legalist isn’t going to allow you to enjoy God’s grace and certainly doubt the blood of Jesus is enough. So apparently, the apostle Paul’s message is so offensive that he needs to defend it. So he’s asking a question, am I saying that because the grace is so big that we should just go on sinning? And that is literally what you just said to me…… And I’m going to give you the same answer that Paul gave. [Romans 6:2] Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Again, this question only comes up when the message is so mind-blowing that God’s forgiveness is so deep and so vast. But the apostle Paul makes it very clear, all things are lawful, and all things are permissible. Quite frankly Charles, the children of God are completely free in Christ to behave in whatever manner they choose. The question is not should I just go on sinning more. The question is what do you really want? Do you really believe more will fulfill you? Because that’s what you imply when you said if you’re forgiven why not just go do more of it. As the scripture say, don’t use your freedom to indulge the flesh. You are free. What will you do with that freedom? You have a new heart with new desires. You can stupidly please the flesh or you can live out your new identity in Jesus. Whatever choice you make, I hope you will not use it to diminish the work of Jesus. Your sin is not bigger than His blood. As it turns out the law causes sin to increase, and it is grace that leads us to repentance. So, if you want to avoid sin, you need to learn to be a receiver of grace. And that doesn’t in any way mean that you condone stuff like ‘gay pride’. It simply means that you trust Jesus. I hope that gives you a different perspective and something you will consider. God bless you brother.

@@charleshughes1141 I think we are now closer to being on the same page. I would point out something regarding “depart from me”. That’s one of those verses that many people have wildly misunderstood. Nowhere in that letter do we see these are Christians. What we actually see is this is a group of people who are pounding their chest thinking how awesome THEY are. They’re bragging before God saying look at all the great stuff WE did for you. Anyone who is truly a believer would not stand before God showing off. Instead of bragging about themselves, they would be bragging about what Jesus did for them. So when Jesus tells them they were practicing sin he is not talking about outward sin. He is specifically referring to the sin of unbelief. How do I know this? He literally says that there was NEVER a time that he knew them. It’s not like they were Christians at one point and then started misbehaving. This is a KNOWING problem. Jesus NEVER KNEW them. I think it is incorrect teaching when we say there HAS to be a change in behavior to be saved. Yes, there SHOULD be. Absolutely! But God is not going to hold our forgiveness hostage until we get it right. That is not the gospel. Remember, it is a gift, so that no one can boast. And the moment we say our forgiveness is contention upon our behavior, it is no longer a gift but what is due to us. And honestly that is deeply twisting the truth of the Gospel. We are literally making salvation about human effort when we do that. I will say it loudly and clearly, there is not 1 ounce of good behavior that can save us. And the same thing that saves us is the same thing that keeps us saved. The gospel doesn't get worse after salvation. So let’s talk about what that looks like with gay pride. As I’ve already acknowledged that is not something I would condone and I’m very certain neither does God. However, if these people have placed their faith in Jesus, then walking around with rainbows and arrogantly pounding their chest over their sins is not going to undo the blood of Christ. Deep down, if these people are Christians the Spirit will reveal to them that this is not the heart of God. But, be that as it is, we should be very careful not to insult the spirit of grace by implying that their sin is too big or too great to be covered under the blood of Jesus shed. Nowhere in scripture do we read that it excluded any type of sin, no matter how big or how frequent. Again, I refer you to the letter to the Corinthians. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 we see the apostle Paul talking about people who will not inherit the kingdom. And then he list off all kinds of sins. One of those of course being homosexuality. But it’s funny how we seem to look past all the other sins he listed, because that laundry list is enough to point the finger in all of our faces and shut all of our mouths. And indeed Paul is writing Christians. But if we pay close attention we realize this is not a threat. What the apostle Paul is teaching them is that they really should reconsider how they are living because, BEFORE they got saved, that long list of sins would result in eternal punishment. And his point is why would you continue in them knowing what they resulted in before your salvation? And the apostle Paul wants to be very careful they don’t walk away with the wrong understanding. He’s not threatening their salvation. They are in Christ and their sins have been taken away. And this is why the very next line from Paul says the following: But that’s what you WERE (past tense), but you HAVE BEEN sanctified, you HAVE BEEN washed, you HAVE BEEN justified in the name of Christ. So what we’re learning is that pre-salvation your identity and security was based on your behavior. But as Christians, that’s what you were, past tense. So, even though people sometimes make really stupid decisions, their identity is not in what they do (sin) but rather who they are in (Christ). If you are a Christian, and make the ad choice to participate in gay pride, or whatever, you’re still sanctified, washed, and justified in the name of Christ. And we should not take that away from them. If God is comfortable with keeping them in his arms despite their poor choices, then who are we to say differently? Take Away: A Christian participating in gay pride or me telling a lie, but are sin, both are deserving of the same punishment. Yet, as Christians, the blood of Jesus equally takes those sins away. No favoritism. So if any of us are going to boast, let it be in Jesus. [Galatians 2:21] “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”

Thank you for the comment! I want to point out a couple of things. 1-this is an old covenant passage. 2-“my people” only refers to the Jewish people. As a gentile, none of us were his people. Under the old covenant, forgiveness of sins was conditional upon performance. The new covenant is not the old one. The new says that all of the believers sins have been forgiven. Even for those foolish believers, who do not humble themselves, and do not turn from their bad choices. For Christians, you won’t find a single verse where God says if you do XYZ I will then forgive your sins. The scripture always speaks about forgiveness and past tense. Our sins have been forgiven. Done. Over.

@@jesuswithoutreligion I know it is an Old Covenant passage I just wanted to share it with you that's all its a good verse and as Paul told us in 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for correction for instruction in righteousness. After all it is true indeed we are no longer under the ten commandments after we get saving faith the faith that makes us born again and gives us the freedom salvation and forgiveness that Christ purchased on the cross for us. You might want to call those foolish people what they are unbelievers instead of believers they are really false teachers who refuse to come to Jesus Christ and by doing that they will neglect the salvation that He purchased for mankind on the cross.

Indeed, it was written to the Jews. Which is why I frequently say, we don't need to put ourselves in the shoes of the recipient of every letter we read in the Bible. Unfortunately, many people viewed this letter as being addressed to all of humanity, and that's that we try to figure out how it applies to us.

These are two very different conversations. YES, we can quench the Spirit. And you will never find me suggesting that we should do things that end with that result. I would point out, however, that quenching the spirit is not making him angry or making him go away. It's making him sad because we are not expressing Jesus. He adores and loves us. And he does not want to see his children received. Please understand, this video was not saying that San was OK. It's saying that Jesus is awesome and he has saved us from the penalty that is associated with it. So my response to my video is saying, the cross worked. My response to your comment is, yes, let's avoid sin so we don't make Garden sad as we quench the spirit, while not expressing Jesus, but instead choosing to walk in the flesh. God actually really does care about us. And when we do stupid stuff, he's not angry, he's sad. We have quenched his Spirit instead of living out our true identity.

Excuse me sir. If you answer back to this message I'd really appreciate it. Anyway, I'm a firm believer in Jesus Christ and I've always wanted to do thenright thing to Please Him and have a goo relationship with Him. But somewhere earlier in my life when I was dealing with family issues, I felt with a lot of depression and loneliness. I soon started looking onto the internet, until I found out that I had a strong attraction to feet. Thinking I was a freak for liking a body part that's weird, I started to seek companionship from other people to who accepted me for what I liked. I eventually found a group who accepted me more than my family or anyone else ever did. They didn't judge me and welcomed me with open arms. For once I felt accepted, like I belonged somewhere. The only problem is, that we love feet so much we lust over them. And I know that's not pleasing to God. As such I've felt like I've been a bad influence to them and not been the light I should've been. I've tried leaving one 2 occasions, but every time I did, I just came right back for some reason. Maybe because of how friendly they were to me in the beginning, I don't know. I'm struggling to leave this behind me, but it's so hard. And I feel like, if what Hebrews said is true, if I don't leave them, I'm gonna be thrown into Hell, for associating with them and not only for encouraging their behavior, but also participating in listing after feet. So, if anyone responds to this message, with some wisdom or guidance on where my walk with the Lord stands eternally, I'd really appreciate it. Because I feel like since I'm still doing the things I know aren't, God's gonna punish me for it😰

You have a lust for feet. Another man has a lust for alcohol. Another man has a lust for money. We can define sin with any kind we want to. The TYPE of sin you struggle with is a moot point. You were excepted by this group because they have the same lust. You find alcoholics hang out with other alcoholics. People with a love of money hang out with other people with the love of money. So my first piece of advice would be able to find people who have something else in common with you. Jesus. Please know the book of Hebrews does not teach you that you can lose salvation. That is a wild misinterpretation of that letter. That letter is only addressing Jewish people who almost entirely have ‘heard the gospel’ (i.e tasted it), but in the end have rejected Jesus, and ran back to the temple as a means of dealing with her sin. That’s why the letter tells us if we reject Jesus they’re no longer remains a sacrifice for sin. Because Jesus is the only way. So you didn’t get saved by discontinuing to lust for feet. An alcoholic does not get saved because he stops drinking. We get saved because we call him Jesus. To each differently would literally be suggesting that the gospel gets worse after we get saved. Meaning at salvation all your sins are forgiven, and then afterward if you struggle again God’s going to change his mind. I did a full study on Hebrews that I think you would really enjoy, and eight verse by verse debunks the garbage teach in that Hebrews is some kind of threat letter to Christians. It’s not. It’s a threat letter to unbelieving Jews. Now, let me encourage you to put aside this non-biblical idea of losing salvation. Then, you can start addressing what you need to do to grow in Christ and overcome this struggle. It may take you a month, a year, or maybe a lifetime. Nonetheless, that’s NOT what saves us. We are saved by faith, APART from works. It is a gift. Less anyone boasts. Our salvation is called ‘eternal' salvation. Let’s focus on that word eternal. That word describes the type of salvation you have. Eternal means “without an end”. So if you could lose your salvation, then it would have an end, and that would make God a liar, which he is not. In Romans 7:8, Paul tells us that the law produced in him every kind of coveting. That’s one of the sins we see in the 10 Commandments. It appears that the law is not the solution for overcoming sin. So how do we do it? Well, Paul actually goes on to give us the answer. IN verse 8 he writes ‘APART from the Law sin is dead’. So what you need to do is stop looking at your performance and ability to keep the law, and instead believe what God has said about you. You are holy. Sanctified. Justified. Blameless. Your sins have been taken away as far as the west is from East. He remembers them no more. Remember the Scriptures tell us that it is Grace that leads us to repentance. And if you’re afraid of losing salvation, that’s telling me that you are not a receiver of Grace. God is giving you grace, but you are choosing not to receive it, and rather living in fear that God has not secured you through the blood of Jesus. What I’m saying is this. Regardless of what kind of sin you have, we all need to acknowledge it and it should be important that we worked overcome it. But the secret to overcoming sin is recognizing how God sees you. Do you believe that Jesus really paid for your sins on the cross? If so, why do you think it’s Grace runs out? Paul tells us were sent increased grace abound it all the more. You cannot outs in the grace of God. Losing salvation would be an old testament Jewish man’s problem. Because they were dealing with the animal blood to cover their sin. Jesus is blood is not like animal blood. That’s why he did not die a year after year. He died once and sat down at the right hand of the father. So you are safe. You are secure. Get up every day and look up to God and say ‘thank you’. Start believing that God has made you clean and close. And I believe through time, as you begin to see yourself as a child of God, instead of a dirty sinner, you will begin to slowly start rejecting those thoughts of lust. We naturally tend to feel like these thoughts originate from us. But that’s not true. They originate from the evil one. And the more you recognize that the easier it will be for you to ‘no’. You will begin to realize that these thoughts are not originating from your new heart. God promised to give you a new heart with a new spirit, and he DID, and that is why you’re feeling guilty. Because your actions don’t actually line up with your new heart from God. The same thing applies to any other kind of sin. The liar tells us it was somehow will fulfill us, but instead, while it may seem to be good for a moment, it leaves you empty and running around feeling ashamed. Mission accomplished Satan. Don’t let him win this. You are God’s child and there’s nothing the evil one can do about it. I hope that helps.

@@jesuswithoutreligion Thank you kind sir, honestly your words of encouragement actually make me feel like crying even now as I write this. So, what you're saying is, me leaving these people and participating in what their doing is not the problem. The problem is that I believe that I still need them to fulfill me instead of God. And the minute I start believing that God is enough, that He is all I need. I'll slowly start to drift away from the people I've associated myself with and the sin I've taken part in? Because if I'm being really honest with you, I DO like the feeling of looking at feet and such and I like feeling accepted by people who feel the same way. But that could just be the Flesh that likes the feeling of "Sinning" the feel of acceptance by human beings instead of Christ. It's strange, there a part of me that loves the listing of feet, but there's another part of me that believes it's wrong and wants to do what's right. I guess that's also a major sign that I'm still saved right?

@@Red-Renegade-Studios I’m not saying what are you doing is a problem nor am I saying it’s not a problem. Sin is always a problem. Meaning it never works for us. It just is bad for us. BUT, I am saying that God is not holding that sin against you. I’m saying there was a price for that sin and it has already been paid, and there’s no punishment that remains. So your relationship with God is good. Men have an interesting biological make-up. God has made us in a way that we desire women. And that’s a good thing when we do it correctly. Most men find more than just their wife attractive.. So we might feel like cheating on our wives will make us happier. And some people do just that. Sure during the act it may make them happy. But that’s very short-lived, and they only end up feeling guilty and ashamed. Like I said, it may take you a year or even 10 years to grow from this. You wrote: “It's strange, there is a part of me that loves the listing of feet, but there's another part of me that believes it's wrong and wants to do what's right”. Paul said this (it might sound familiar): For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. - Romans 7:15 For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. - Romans 7:18-19 So you are describing exactly Paul did. Now, watch what he said next: Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.- Romans 7:20 And he’s not saying he doesn’t have the free will to make a choice. He’s saying he recognizes the source of this wrong doing and those desires. They’re not coming from him. So my best piece of advice is, each time you start lusting, slowly start trying to tell yourself, ‘this is not coming from my heart, this thought is coming from the evil”. And the more and more you believe that, the easier it will be for you to say no.

@jesuswithoutreligion 2 года назад
@@Red-Renegade-Studios I would point out that probably 98% of all men ‘lust after women’. And the other 2% probably just lie and say they don’t. In the sermon on the mount Jesus told them if they look with lust they would be guilty, and in danger of Hell. Of course, Jesus knew all of these men looked with lust. Every one of them probably got mad saying nobody can not look good lust. And that was his point. They need to realize by the true standard of God’s law, we are all guilty. We all need a rescuer. We all need Jesus. It’s very difficult to turn off these desires. But it’s not impossible to change how we respond to them. As far as how it will affect your future wife, that I don’t know. Hopefully by the time you get married you’ve overcome how do you react to these desires. When I talk about God's design, I’m referring to one man with one woman. And again most married men lust, but the difference is honorable men do not act on it. In your case, the only one who’s probably being hurt is you. But God’s heart would be that you not be hurt either.

@@jesuswithoutreligion Which verse in Hebrews 10 says they’re returning to animal sacrifice? Give me one if it’s so clear and I’m just “blind.” Also you haven’t addressed the issue of their sanctification, even if you could come up a verse which said the sin was returning to animal sacrifice, they’d still be losing their salvation by returning to animal sacrifice as v10:10 specifies that the Hebrews were sanctified through Christ, clearly denoting their saved state. They’d be going from saved (sanctified through Christ) to being unsaved (trying to be sanctified through animal sacrifice) and they’d then be subjected to the fire appointed for God’s enemies. v27 “but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” So either way OSAS is completely refuted.

@@catholictruth102 Respectfully, I’ve asked you to read the first 10 chapters of Hebrews and show me one mention of outward sin. These conversations are much more enjoyable when it’s not one person, ignoring the others questions and just firing off additional ones. I can give you multiple examples in Hebrews, where he clearly tells us the same in context is the son of unbelief. Hebrews 3:19 So we see that they were not able to enter [into His rest-the promised land] because of unbelief and an unwillingness to trust in God. Hebrews 3:12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart Hebrews 4:2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. The good news proclaimed them, was the news about Jesus. But it was no value to these Jewish people, because they did not share the same faith of those who, obey, specifically saying, being obedient to believing. Re: You wrote: Which verse in Hebrews 10 says they’re returning to animal sacrifice? I did not say that was in verse 10. But if you read Hebrews, you can see that instead of receiving Jesus, these Jewish people are abandoning the new covenant promises of Jesus, and grabbing onto old covenant Jewish traditions for righteousness instead. i.e. Heb 6: 1-2 not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. So let me summarize what Hebrews 1-10 is teaching. It is, addressing Jewish people who have heard the gospel. They’ve tasted it. But it turns out the majority of them are rejecting it. So the writer begins by making all kinds of comparisons of the old covenant versus the new one. He talks about the law being brought in by Moses, but the new covenant being brought in by Jesus. And the point is who is greater, Moses, or Jesus? In other words, the new covenant is superior to the old. He then says it was angels that ordained the old covenant, but Jesus ordained the new one. And the point is who is greater, angels or Jesus? He will then start talking about, and comparing Prophets and Jesus. So bottom line, the writer is given the Jewish audience a logical reason to abandon the old covenant and grab onto the new one. In for this reason, the entire context is about their unbelief. That is the saying that he is addressing. Can I point out that these Jewish people were all about performance. All about the law. Not lying, cheating, stealing, committing adultery. If anyone had their game on, it would’ve been the Jewish people. They’ll be no reason to be writing these Jewish people about their outward performance. Their problem was not outward. At least in their minds. Their problem was inward. It is possible the only way to change your mind and help you see this ladder more clearly would be to be properly taught starting from Chapter one. I think then you would understand the context more clearly.. I'm guessing you won't watch it, but I did do a full series on the letter to the Hebrews. I think it will change your mind if you ever have the time just to even check out the first two chapters. jesuswithoutreligion.com/bible-study-online/hebrews/

I would first say this. Be it willful, or not, sinning is always wrong. I would never, under any circumstances, condone it. With that said. No, I reject the popular teaching that willful sin implies ‘I dont care about Jesus I will do it anyway’. Christians don’t sin because they don’t care about Jesus. They sin because they wrongfully believe the lies from the evil one that sin can offer fulfillment. We all sin. I know I do. Never, have I found myself sinning because I spite Jesus. In fact, when I do struggle with sin, the struggle is almost always because, on one hand I am trying to please the flesh, and on the other I hate letting Jesus down. The very reason we call it ‘struggling’ with sin, or ‘feeling guilty’ about sin, is our knowledge of the cross. As Christians, Jesus live in us. He guides us. He counsels us. I think it would be impossible not to care about what He thinks. But the tempter is always there. Presenting a lie over the real thing. Something to consider….

Here are two words you won’t find anywhere in the scripture. BACK SLIDDEN That is a man-made word. In the reason it’s used it’s because they can’t make the case using scripture alone. Regarding punishment. If God were to punish you, what would cause it? Sin would. What did Jesus do about our sin. He took it away. He took our punishment on the cross. He remembers it no more. [1 John 4:18] There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with PUNISHMENT, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. [John 3:18] The one who believes in Him is NOT JUDGED [ROMANS 8:1] Therefore there is now NO CONDEMNATION at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. Should we repent from sin? YES, YES, and YES. We are not made for sin. But if you are avoiding sin because you’re afraid Jesus is going to change his mind and punish you, you are avoiding it for the wrong reason. Christians avoid sin because we’re not made for it. We have new hearts with new desires. So we both agree we should repent. We’re just both doing it for different reasons. You’re afraid Jesus is going to come and punish you, I’m just living out my new identity. That’s literally like you loving Jesus because you’re afraid of hell, when the reason to love him is because he loves you and what he did for you.
