This song reminds me of when I was a young single woman working on a Marine base… I ended up marrying one of those Devil Dogs! Happiest day of my life! ♥️
Probably the most understated musician. Fantastic guitar player, great singer, all around one of the best rock 'n roll artists ever. Loved his response to never have been elected to the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, " just lucky I guess ". Considering the lame characters previously elected it's appropiate.
Seriously, I don't get the problem with people accusing her of lip synching. First of all, you don't have to try hard to hear her live voice here, it's very easily distinguishable from the background voice. And second, YES, there is a background voice but that's a common thing to do among many musicians. When you're recording a song in the studio, you can do it in small parts that may overlap each other in the final version. It's physically impossible to do these parts live. And please, Aguilera is a dance-and-sing performer, I'm not saying she's a talented dancer of anything, but she's giving a full performance on the stage, so at some point, when she's dancing, it may be easier to just focus for a few seconds on the moves and let the background voice of hers provide a line or two (again, she's not dancing while recording in the studio so it's a completely different thing). Aguilera is simply astounishing. I don't expect it from people who are not fans, but if you are (like me ^^), you've probably seen tons of her live performances. So yes, this comes from a person who's seen that much and really, not trying to defend her or anything, she is always giving a live performance. It doesn't always have to be perfect, she has her worse days, as we all do, but background voice is all she uses, it's never lip synching, ever. I think it proves her to be more amazing than many artists and in some way more respectful of her fans in that matter - even with a sick voice, she prefers to go out there and do her best live than use playback and make it easy. Well, sorry for the long one. I just needed to let it out ;).
Fantastic singer no doubt about it and certainly one of the greats. In some parts it does seem like she is singing along with the backing track. I have seen her do this on other ocassions too. Its an innovative technique and many artists employ this.
This high note isn't dubbed. Some are, but this one isn't B2B Tour is, Ellen Show is, and a few other ones but not this one. Listen to the difference compared to the studio version...
I don't get how people can say it was lipped or dubbed. I mean, it wasn't shit, but it wasn't great either. I mean, why go through the trouble of dubbing or lipping to something that's not good? Lol
Actually, you can tell that long note is not lip synced. The way she moves the mic away to make sure she isnt screaming into the mic it lowers how loud she is...although hear i think she held it too far away from her mouth.
I really don’t mind the playback if there is any… I don’t get why people complain about this, we all know regardless that Christina can sing. Lol it’s is VERY common place for songs that are challenging to sing for artists to have live playback on the harder parts because their voice may not be in the same shape as it was when recorded and EDITED in studio. Relax.
I know she not lip-synching (cause she doesnt need to) but does it sound like there are 2 Christina voices??? Is it just the video?? or just me?? Is Christina singing over her own track??
Im not a big fan if how christina always sings and how her fans think she is better than whitney n mariah, but it is clear that the high notes is live on THIS performance
Take note that this is Good Morning America...it's HARD to sing in the morning. Yeah, it may not be peefect, but it's astonishing enough that she was able to hit it still early in the morning.
Julia It wasn’t her best one for sure. She couldn’t sustain it like she normally does. But still it’s an incredibly hard not to hit, let alone sustain after dancing. Overall she did good.
why is everyone so blind to the clear fact that she strained throughout this entire performance. I really want to like her but let's be honest, she wrecked her voice over the years. That's what screaming and improper vocal technique will do to you...
Carlos Suarez so what do you think of her new album? I’m no expert on vocal technique but it seems like she’s been working hard on her technique in this years she’s been gone
I don’t want to be a downer but she is straining here. The backing vocalists are doing most of her singing job and he high notes are not the best! Btw I love this song and the video is so fun, but the live version is not what thought she would do! Just my honest opinion!
