The song follows along with the fact that women are their own person and they don't owe their body to anyone. Women aren't just something you can slave and claim we are free and I love that song because it is telling women to feel free to go out and be you without worrying about being taken advantage of.

Both Christina and Demi were signed by Disney and Disney controlled everything. Told him what to do, how to do it, rules to follow. Then they got older and Disney dropped them. This song was a representation of them breaking free from Disney's control. That's how I interpreted it anyway.

And as far as Disney being controlling, you can watch videos of former actors/actresses that played characters in the Park. They have rules they cannot break. They were dropped because they got to be too old. That was my interpretation on the song. Being a strong willed woman and not controlled by rules or society. Being free.
