I mean she’s insanely talented and probably had the best voice (tonally) out of all the coaches but, she has horrible technique so I wouldn’t really want her coaching me. Just my opinion.
Yah pretty distinctive sound. I hate the whole ",everyone voice unique in its own way" and yah to an extent that's true but "unique " and "distinctive" arent synonyms.
1:03- She wasn’t screaming for shits and giggles, she did it because that’s how James Brown sang the song. People really need to stop comparing Christina with Britney. They’re both iconic queens with different styles of singing and performance, which is allowed.

To be honest, I don't even think their will ever be a white woman that can sing soul like Christina. She's one of very few artists that I can happily pronounce as "unique"

It just wasn't very well controlled. Don't get me wrong, it's still impressive to be able to do that, but it wasn't as nicely mastered and sounded a bit strained. She's an amazing singer though.
+ThePoopenator That specific performance was a tribute...that scream/screeching was intentionally out of control since that was james brown's trademark (the man christina did the tribute to) it's iconic and I loved it but you're right it is FAR from her best vocals!!
How much more recognition do you want for her, she has won many Grammy's, she has made history as the voice of there generation she is the list of the 100 voices of all time according to Forbes Magazine! She is a whole ICON! 😍🤷
Gilnairy Hernandez she has won a number of grammy and other things but it’s still so much less compared to beyonce or rihanna or other mainstream artists
She's done well in her career and is a legend in her own right, but she doesn't really have a lot of hit songs. Maybe one per album and the rest are kind of, "meh," and not making rounds on the radio.

Pop stars were usually either pure belters who dont dance (mariah, whitney, celine) or pure performers with mediocre vocal ability (madonna, britney, janet) .. But Christina merged both these categories and made her own league! Shes the only one with a very powerful and distinct voice who can perform all out with full on choreography! She also has attitude on stage which is very unique to her, its a level of stage presence that I cant find from any popstars before and after her.. Shes one of a kind.. many current popstars idolize her and names her as one of their inspirations (Ariana, Demi, Selena, Little Mix, etc), but they really cant reach Xtina's level of showmanship with her unmatched vocals and impeccable stage presence! Legend!
Saw her in concert back in 2000ish, half way through the concert she dismissed all her dancers and band to change outfits, sat on a stool and sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. You could have heard a mouse piss on cotton!!! Absolutely amazing and stunning. ❤️❤️❤️

What makes Christina Aguilera original too is that she hardly sings her album songs, I LOVE the fact that she sings the way she feels with emotions and what makes her, her own with her original twists. So many singers can't do what she does and yes she's a soul singer that was influenced by Etta James, Nina Simone etc.... I know lots of you may not agree but I have my own opinion and Christina Aguilera will always be favourite singer of her generation.

That Beautiful grammy performance may not be her best Beautiful performance, (she was really sick, CNN's is her best to me) BUT that climax when she sings "shine" in a growing note gives me all the chills, i live for that part. I love Christina freaking Aguilera, she's my inspiration and one of her songs saved my life (for real).

It's true that she doesn't have the greatest technique and that at times she misuses her power. She may not be a "technical vocalist" but there's also another undeniable matter of fact i.e. she has a voice in a million. She has an unique tone, her voice is full of shades, colours, diverse sounds, out-standing power, impressive range and not to mention her sensational interpretative skills. Xtina is "The Voice of her generation" for a reason, SHE HAS ONE OF THE BEST VOICES of all times. Common people don't care about technique, high larynx, control and stuff like that. People want to be entertained and they're enthusiastic to listen to Xtina because she has an awesome voice PERIOD

She just tore it all up and left many of my fellow Mexicans, stunned, dumbfounded on her singing Mexican Rancheras! Y'all, she is absolutely incredible. Listen to.. "Cuando Me Dé La Gana".
