This is my first time hearing this version. I didn't know Jamelia's was a cover. Personally I like Jamelia's version more. It just has a good R&B vibe that fits the song well
@@nikoskabbadias Agreed. If anything Jamelia sounds nothing like R&B on her version. I remember being puzzled at the time that the song was marketed as R&B because it's pure Swedish pop, much like Britney Spears, A-Teen stuff. The duo that made this song are Swedish.
cmrnff Well then at least Jamelia could sing it in another Way. But no she sounds just like Christine. That just says more about how Jamelia dont respect other artists. Yes not Jamelias fault it was given to her, but she could make her own version of it. Now people Think Jamelia made the original one unless they do some research first. And not only does Jamelia take all credit for it, where is the original artist is all forgotten. Shame on Jamelia and the producers too.
A lot of people here shocked there's an original Danish version of a massive international hit. Wait until I tell you about Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn"... ;)
@choncord Essentially the same deal! Originally released by a Danish singer (in a Danish version), then by an American band (in English), then by a Norwegian singer (in English) before Natalie recorded her version. :)
@@Redstomp The difference is however, that it was written by members of that american band (Ednaswap). The danish version of Torn was a translation, but was indeed released first.
When the "home market" have a population of 5.5 million people, it's difficult to go "worldwide" with a song. Then it was offered on "the market" and Jamilia, home market is 65 million, picked it up and did her Hit.
The song is originally Danish and was presented by Remee, Cutfather and a third guy. Christine got the song from a TV show called Popstars but Remee and cutfather did represent the song for other people. Jamelias agent called the guys and said that they also wanted the song. So the compromise was like this😊
I came here searching for the background voice I heard in the Jamelia's version. I heard a voice that does not belong there but higher. I did a background check and well here we are! I love this! You deserve the credit for this song!
Remee is one of the song writers and producers of this song, and in an interview with the Danish national radio (channel3/P3) it's stated that he also did background vocals on the song.
YES I FINELY FOUND IT👍👌👍😀😀..I heard this song 4 some years ago but the only 1 i could find was Jamelia so i bought that singel..But it was this 1 i really wanted & now i found it here on RU-vid😀😀So thx 2 RU-vid & that we can find a lot of good songs & music👍👌👍😀🙏🤝💖❤️💖🎤..This song i’m gonna listen a lot 2😀😀..!..I was so desipointed back then when i could’nt find it,but now so many years later it came up here👍👌👍😃😃😀A big smile on my mouth now😄😄😄
I was today years old when i found out this is the og 😭 And it's the fact that Jamelia's cover only had different vocals and some lyrics changes but the instrumentals are 100% the same 😭
The male dancer in orange singlet and jeans looks like he is a ballet dancer by training. His movements are beautiful. I wish the video had more of him.
@DeliciousNicNat She is the original singer behind Jamelia's international hit single "Superstar", which was written and produced by Danish producers Cutfather & Joe and Remee in 2003

This isn't the demo tape, this is the first artist accepting the song, 1 month before Jamelia accepted the same offer . Creators had a contract clause that this girl would loose if a bigger label came along . And Jamelia had the bigger label .
Maybe Jamelia was the one making it famous internationally, but it doesn´t mean that she is more talented. The musical industry is simply bigger in the UK, US etc.
Here in the UK this song was used for a kids clothing advert when I was young. The other day the advert and song popped into my head and now I'm binge listening to this because I never knew the song title before.
