Very nice. The original Fury in the book Christine was a four door, most people don't know. Not that it matters anyway because it's a cool car. Great job!
Nice 4 door sedan. It's interesting how the Belvedere came in a variety of options, 2dr hard top, 2dr sedan, 4dr hard top, 4dr sedan. Thanks for the video. 🙂👍👍
PS, I'm subbed because I really enjoy your channel! Takes me back 50+ years. Yes I know about 50s mopars. My buddy had a sweet '58 Plymouth drop top blue, man it was mint. But the 318 died. He bought a '58 dodge 4dr, pulled motor (325), and he said it wouldn't fit. So he bought him a '68 mustang and sold me both cars for $100. I brought them home. I put the 325 back in the dodge, it was a pretty car, I detailed it in n out and sold it to a man with wife n family for $500. Then , see I'm a welder/ fabricatir, / milkwright. So I always had plenty of stuff to BB work wuth. I bought a '58 Chrysler wrecked hit hard in the ass end. It had a 392 hemi. So l pulled motor n trans plus alot of stuff from the chyrsler. It took me some work and time but I put the setup in the '58 plymouth. I BB put 2 4bbls on emu new big cam lifters, oil pump. Well, I rebuilt the hemisphere with the help of a local hemi guru dragracer. Anyway, I built this after I survived two tours in the jungle with the 101, yes I'm an infantry paratrooper, and shed my US Army uniform, went back to my trades, I put a Dana 60 rear in it. It was my toy, I didn't like a drop top but its shad I had bought. I kept it always in a garage wen I wasn't stomping on it. I owned it for many years even tho I didn't drive it for years. I've owned two hemisphere the other was a black GTX red leather int. Dual quads pistol grip 883 4 spd. I sold it to buy my first house. Dn pymt + closing $.
I think even without the movie, this car just looks sinister overall, especially the front end. The association with the movie just exaggerates it even more. Really nice dashboard illumination, too. Great Halloween set up. I wonder if the folks at Plymouth knew how evil this car looked, and did they deliberately design it this way?🤔 Guess we will never know.
oh my GOD ,this is the car the Stephen King car,i feel like a fool i just commented on the other Chrysler video a white one and asked if it was THE CAR ,what a great channel im tellin everyone at work to subscribe
@@williamgreer4087 Depends on who you ask. My dad used Fram filters on his cars his whole life and never had an issue. From what I’ve seen cheaper Fram filters can have not so great construction inside and the filter element can start coming apart. But honestly that’s probably more of a concern if never change your filter. I use Wix filters myself.
@@ObsoleteAutomotive thanks for the helpful reply! I only ask because my car had one when I bought it. I use Blueprint brand filters now (I think they're just a UK thing) as that's the standard brand my local parts store stocks, not had any issues with them.
When you first got that car I thought it was pretty cool. The more videos you make about it the more I think it's not that good at all. Good on you for getting it running right.
it's really an adventure when three or four different peopleJerryJerryrigwith zip ties duct tapecoat hangersyou do a fine jobyoung man I would work on a car with youany day in any weatherlooks like you have a nice country setting
@@ObsoleteAutomotive I believe a guy in New York bought the car from me. The radio, as I had it, controlled and amplifier that you could play music through. I made that headliner in my kitchen floor. If you were to ever pull it out, there is a note tucked in the passenger side front where the headliner bows clip in. That engine and transmission were sound when I sold it. It looks like it's been used and abused.
@@ObsoleteAutomotive The body was extremely rough when I received the car. It was actually a little worse than it was described. I did get some floor pans welded in, but I used fiberglass resin and Bondo on lots of areas. It was really a hack job, but I was young.
Well it doesnt work, without you convertind to a 4 door hardtop or better. a two door slightly elongated roof pan. Which ARE available. And remember the first rule of customs and all 50's cars is: "If it ain't Chopped, It ain't S#%@T......
That hidden bolt is the stupidest thing I seen how much easier it is to bolt the torque converter back up will the bell housing removed what was chrysler smoking when they came up with that hidden bolt
Day, bud, I'm seeing a lot of mud in the left fender. Plus on the body, so I'm wondering why you're going to all this work? I'm betting you have or can get a better example. So please satisfy my curosity , there must be some reason you're going to all this work. Its a four door too! So, fill me in my friend!!!
@@JamesWilson-bw5uq Because why not? I gave the car a new lease on life. It’s the kind of car you don’t have to worry about getting damaged because it’s already bad…. Really bad. If I didn’t put it back on the road then it would have probably just been stripped of parts and sent to scrap. Plus I needed a good Halloween prop and this was the perfect candidate!
