First year I've not been marginalized, been the "poor relative" ($$$$$), bliss in enjoying my "rich" life, (true, real friends, silly tree (spectacular), meal I ENJOY, lovely lovely Christmas. Silly me, could have been like this for many past years, but bowed to FAMILY. Always rainbows/clouds, doors closing/windows opening. Just Breathe. Aw Kate, a good cry again! I just watched this movie again last night. My oldest grandson now 15, would ask me to read this to him since he was about 3. Not long after that I was alone at the end of my 38 yr marriage. This one still reminds me of all good and bad memories swirled up together. When he was about 4 he was excited to give a special gift for Christmas to me-a silver bell. Made me cry!! I gave him a silver bell , too, that year. My 3 kids and little Collin practically saved my life over the years when I would be sad over my losses in life. They remind me all the time of my blessings and gratitude for what is left. It is as if someone died but I’m okay now, I have survived and learned I am not as helpless as Everyone thought I was! Oh I read this book to my third grade class in northern Manitoba years ago, as a new teacher. Behind me I had hidden a clear sounding bell. At the special spot near the book's end, the magic happened., Right on cue the bell, the magic, rang out! All innocent faces gasped as the lines were read aloud. And no, this teacher did not admit to hearing or ringing a bell. Pure magic. I fought back tears. (Third year of teaching, 1990)

I still hear the sleigh bells, even when it's not Christmas season. My Christmas lights stay up all year & when I need to feel that safe and warm feeling, I make my home dark then turn on the multi-colored twinkling lights . . . .all that special safe, warm, and sleigh bells come to me. I’m not sure you’ll ever see this but I’m watching this Christmas Eve Video in May of 2022 while sewing. It’s a 90 degree day so I’m not sure why I’m watching a Christmas video except for that I’m catching up on all yours. The Polar Express was written by an author from my city- Grand Rapids, Michigan and the artwork reflects locations from there. I was visiting my mother in law in a nursing home and I met the authors parents who also lived there. Beautiful people and oh so very, very proud of their author son. Enjoy!

Just before morning recess the last day before Winter Holidays ... As I read, I had another staff member drop bells on ribbons (that I had prepared the night before) into their boots... Oh the excitement as we headed out for recess! I think I cried every year. This is my first year retired from teaching...I miss it.... Perfect time for me to be read to. Thank you🤗

I wasn’t watching your podcast at the time in 2020 but the day this went out was the day that I managed to get married. I’ve known my husband for 10 years and we have been good friends. Unfortunately during Covid he had to retire and he started to get lonely. Remembering that I liked him he asked me to marry him and six weeks later on the 24th of December 2020 we managed to get married. After a couple of cancellations due to the new Covid lockdown restrictions. We don’t celebrate Christmas but the 24th of December is now always going to be a special day for us, especially as we worked through a lot of adversity to actually end up getting married. The pandemic has been a tough time for everybody, but I think it made us all realise how important family and friends truly are. And now in 2022 life being almost back to normal at least we can spend time with those we love. Keep safe everybody.
Oh my heart strings..Polar Express is a memory with my youngest son...he passed away three years ago at the age of 22 yrs.old.I dare anyone not to be moved even shed a tear.Thank you for a loving memory🙏🏻
