On Christmas Eve, the family traditionally opens one present before going to bed. Alicia got one extra present this year, which contained a DVD I had made for her as a surprise. Alicia was under the impression that we would be spending Christmas apart.

The notebook is something Alicia and I started early in our relationship, writing down different experiences and memories as we went along. This slideshow is a collection of various photos and memories we've had.

In this portion of the video, I begin to write in the notebook and it cuts to scenes of me talking to each of our parents about when they knew they had found "the one."

The video shows that I am going to begin the next chapter of our lives together as I depart Houston and drive to Muenster to propose to Alicia. Unfortunately, the hidden camera that was capturing Alicia's reactions stopped recording just before this final part. You can see me waiting outside for my cue on the video right before I ring the doorbell.
