He's seasoned! Some would say he's just an old man, BUT what they forget to acknowledge is that Grandpa has been thru some events in his lifetime that None of us could begin to handle, he's probably had to eat his meals in some unimaginable conditions, especially if he's a military man, so a lil rockin' on the deep blue sea is just guaranteeing he's gonna sleep goooood after this meal!💤🛌 💤 😁 Glad it wasn't any worse! That's one of my fears is for the weather to be Fine when we set sail, with no rain in sight, then BAM! Things get scary....I'm going to start off with an anxiety attack while I'm getting nauseated all the while tending and watching my son b-cuz he's 10X worse than me when it comes to motion sickness. He's so bad that he gets dizzy and sick looking where he's going while riding up front, cuz if he rides in the bk, it's a definite sick even looking out the window. 😧 I thought I heard one of the folks in the party say they were getting sick and wanted to go to the cabin. My Mom had to get a shot which knocked her out so she missed out on doing a few things but after the weather passed she was all better. That's gotta be a terrifying out there in those rough seas all alone with nothing but water, raging water in sight! ✋😣🙈 I'm chicken liver!😏 One day tho I'm going to take a cruise. One day🤞 😏⚜
I have both fear of motion and motion sickness. As long as I'm taking meclizine, the latter is ok and even the former is improved. I've been on eight cruises and only twice (about 12 hours each) did the ride get almost as bad as this video. In a worst case scenario, try to stay in lower levels of the ship, in the center of the ship (from fore to aft).
I agree, they all had a great sense of humor about the storm and motion of the ship. The one of the funniest things from it was (to paraphrase) "So, what do you think of the current situation?" "Well, the casino was only open for 2 hours due to some stupid regulation..."
This grandfather has humor! My grandfather died a week ago at the age of 101. I'm from The Netherlands, so was he, and in WW2 he was a soldier. First for the Germans when he applied at the Reichsschule in Valkenburg, and later on he deserted, got hunted by gestapo and then joined the Americans in the war. What a story right! Sorry for me blabbering on, but seeing this happy man, just made me think of him.
I love this family and their attitude! My kind of folks!! My husband and I have enjoyed 22 cruises and the worse experience we had was total power lost during evening meal. Our wonderful captain announced, ‘we are now aimlessly adrift in safe waters’! Loved it. We left dining area to go to our room where we had flashlights. I could tell people were getting anxious and hollowed out, ‘don’t worry unless you see Leonardo and Kate running’! We had just gotten to our room, fumbled around in the dark, found our flashlights and lights came on!! Loved it!!
They were great about it. No complaining just dealing with it. They are there for fun. I"ve been on ships like that and it can be fun.....a lot of broken dishes though.
He's fought in wars! No way a storm is going to interrupt his dessert. Did anyone else notice that while the water goblets and silverware were sliding down the table the vase of flowers stayed in place? Loved how the family gathered the silver in a dinner napkin, showed compassion for the cleaning crew ... unless of course they were planning on stealing it. :p
James Burke Cruiselines just got the biggest enviromental fine of all times all disposable plastics are forbidden including straws - but off course the “dining room manager” who has access to weather charts or has the time to do that on top of his 12 hour 7 day schedule will just have them flown in by the pigeons the same as the mail comes in daily - and needless to say families like these who just keep sitting instead of “hey lets go to our room the poor employees have so much cleaning up to do” will be furious “how dare we not have silverware - we paid $299 for this 7 day voyage”
What an incredibly fun family!! Took everything in stride, eating cookies, making toilet jokes, one gal was knitting, another was gathering silverware, another wanted to do a conga line...loved the music interlude too!!
ABSOLUTELY this is a time that requires Xanax and definitely alcohol because if I'm going to go down like this in a cruise ship( WORST CASE SCENARIO I MEAN) then I don't want to be really conscience or awake for that but panicking and freaking out until i am forced to take my last breath before I'm completely submerged into water into an abyss of defeat. I totally would want to be knocked out for that and not know how much I suffred..just saying but I wonder if the ULTIMATE FEAR, SHOCK AND ADRENALINE would kick in and the two chemicals I ingested to meaning XANAX.and alcohol would possibly might not even work because of the shock and fear of what's happening
I'd have sit on the floor, put my utensils in my pocket, food on lap, and held my cup between with my legs. Fuck it I'm still eating. This family had a good attitude.
I want to go on my next vacation with these folks! They handled all of it with laughter and jokes even though they were frightened, I’m sure. They made me laugh.
I think it's great that these people are carrying normally. I've been on one cruise and we sailed through rough waters for the first couple of days. Shows and other events went on as planned and the staff was phenomenal. I cruised with Norwegian - it was, for the most part, an amazing experience!
This kind of weather is about as much fun as you can have sober and dressed. I always loved hitting storms. Looks like you and your family(?) had a pretty good time in it, all-in-all
I would never go on a cruise for fear of just such, but your family is amazing and the humor & good spirits shown w love is what many, including myself are envious of having surrounding. Think the love & laughter could shelter any storm. 💕🥂🎁🥂💕
Such a great family, especially the Grandparents who take everything in stride! I’d have been honored to have vacationed with your family! I have my own family but we are just 3 now & I so miss having family vacations w/ my funny Pappy! Prayers to all of you, I haven’t finished the video but I hope it was a memorable vacation full of love!
Your family are so nice, only few people do what you've done with the cutlerys, the employee will really appreciate you guys i swear, Thanks for sharring this video, i hope ya'll had a memorable journey and manny more in future!!
Grandpa cracks me up. Just keep those cookies coming and I'll be just fine. LOL! That guy is probably a graduate of WWII and a little ship rocking is nothing to him!
The unique thing about cruise ships is that their center of gravity is higher than on most other commercial vessels. They are designed to provide the best possible "ride" in rough seas. The down side is that the higher the center of gravity, the greater the list. The greater the list, the more chance of capsizing (highly unlikely) but the risk is increased. Lower center of gravity gives more stability, but you feel every wave more intensely.
You're missing out on a great opportunity. I swore I'd never go on a cruise. I broke that promise a couple of weeks ago and would go back on a heartbeat. The only Cruise ship disaster that I can remember over the last 40+ years was the Costa Concordia - And that was due to a captain's poor piloting and neglect on navigation through the waterway he was going through.
Seemingly the shifting of all the cutlery on the dinner table is hilarious however one would wonder if there is some kind of phenomenal power behind that something is really interesting to catch the cruisers attention amazing photo work LIKING it a lot thanks
Okay, that does it! When I finally take a cruise, I'm wearing my life preserver 24/7... even in the shower or on the toilet! And I'll pack a black tux version for the formal dinner! 🤣🎩
I have always booked my cruises during the Hurricane season for the wonderful discounts. In fact, I once manage to get a cruise almost 80% off by electing to stay in a room with no windows or balcony located right above the engine room. Once you got used to the constant clank and clank of the engine, sleeping was great. To this day I can't figure out why my wife refuses to speak with me!!! Maybe one day she will realize when it comes to saving money, she married the Last Of The Big Spenders, I tittle I keep and hold with the upmost pride!
Christa.. this was such an ENJOYABLE video! The Casino answer to your question about the "current situation" was hysterical! You all had a great time despite the "less than perfect" conditions. But aren't the best experiences and memories those that are imperfect?
The. Most. Laid. Back. Family. Ever. 😀 They should have their own TV show where they face disasters and laugh in disaster's freaking face! Nothing's gonna stop this family from enjoying their good time. They could end each episode with: "How 'bout you pass the cookies, Grandpa." *Family erupts in laughter all around the table.* 😂
This wasn’t a disaster. None of them were injured or killed. You have no idea what disaster looks like. How’d laid back would they be on this cruise? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TJib_ukEgbg.html
