Thank you for the awesome suggestions. I think I will like the Dumpling bag because it opens up flat. I like that for my makeup. I really appreciate that you always choose many different projects to share bc we all have different likes and dislikes. Love your makes. I always look forward to your gift suggestions videos.
I started making and selling counter top hot pads. I made some for my church out of necessity and immediately started getting orders! I think I have my new Christmas gift...
I really like the over sized hot pad ans pot holders. Like you said great gift to have on hand for any occasion. Thanks for all the tips. I have made the sunshine cross body and its great to keep in my large tote purse so i va just grab my wallet, phone and run in the store hands free. If i make it again i will leave out the front & inside zipper pockets.
I liked the hot pad and the pot holders, but the pot holders looked a little stiff. I'd have to make them and wash them to see if they feel the same after. Very nice ideas.
So glad you liked them! I’ve washed my potholders quite a few times now and they don’t feel stiff at all. They have a medium thickness with a slight crinkle from the Insul-Bright. If someone cooks a lot with cast iron, then I would suggest two layers of the Insul-Bright. I’ve got several sets cut out for Christmas gifts. 😊 Happy sewing, 💕 Lisa
On the dumpling pouch, I mark the middle of the zipper and the outer fabric. I match the marks and pin on the zipper that way. I also put a gusset in the ends to hold in my items. Sew Sweetness has this pattern free with written instructions and a video. That is the one I use. She also has lots of variations or hacks for this pattern. Thanks for sharing your makes and mistakes! We all have them!
Here's a link to what is allowed. They have a place where you can type in a word(s) to see if it's allowed. I typed in sewing needles and also sewing kits and it says they are both allowed. I know a lot of people include sewing kits. Thanks for asking! 🥰 Lisa www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/
