Wonderful. Also tell your daughter that it's been decades we are told from TV and in media that we have weight problems. It's in series, movies, ads, magazines etc. They show thin girls, talk about women's body problems, give solutions on loosing weight. They abuse our gender. A healthy woman can't be slim!

It’s so interesting hearing you talk about appearance trends. I have naturally red hair and have spent a good chunk of my life being teased for it. Being ginger and pale skinned has mostly been seen as a negative thing. Now it is the look that everyone is trying to achieve. I have no doubt that at some point it will change back again.

Congratulations LYDIA, you have managed to reach that point that many of us don't reach until our 40's - or at least I didn't. Love your vlogs btw, but I myself had my 51st birthday this year and I can honestly say that (hopefullly without sounding patronising) to see someone like you, with your access to the latest trends and fashions, say no and stay true to your style - no matter what the internet tells you is refreshing and makes me hopeful for future generations. I myself am in possession of a rather round bottom that, until recently was the subject of many jokes and jocular insults. And I dare say that it won't be too long before that trend goes away and flat bottoms are the thing again. I too am an English country girl - whose arse is apparently comparable to her horse, rather than the other way around, so go girl. Be who you are and not what 'they' all want/expect you to be. You're light years ahead of other women your age. God bless you xxxx

I love how you embrace doing what suits you, what makes you happy and feel beautiful! The same experience you had with your nails I had the same realisation with my hair, for years I put my hair in a middle parting staying on trend. This year I said enough is enough I never feel pretty and didn’t look like myself in photos so I put it back to a side pattern and I love the way I look I feel like myself and feel beautiful again. I believe it is so true to try new trends but stick to it in a way you still feel like yourself, what makes you feel beautiful and to have fun with it too!

Lydia, this was just lovely… We had scheduled to go to the Langham for tea when my husband and I visited in May, but something else came up and we ended up having to cancel. We definitely will do that. But I have to tell you, I’m sure the campaign from the hotel will turn out so exquisitely, but I almost wish they would use your footage because it’s so authentic... How much you loved the place and just your happy, feminine energy, all dressed up and walking through those beautiful halls… And, that room was ridiculous. In the best way possible, ha ha.🎉

Hi Lydia over here in Nz we eat pumpkin all the time as part of our vege diet now a little tip to crack it open never put a knife at the other end start from the middle with a sharp narrow knife , then repeat opposite side I do another to quarter it then cut into smaller pieces , of coarse you can bake with butter and eat skin if like to or take pumpkin pulp add butter garlic and cream you have a lovely soup I add a little sweet chilli sauce and a dollop of sour cream x

I have thought about this trend thing on bodies so many times. When I was a teenager in the 2000's, I felt less pretty because I had bushy brows, a big bum, full lips and voluminous hair. And now all of that is trending and considered beautiful. It just goes to show that body trends are just so harmful and the only body trend that should exist is "love your body as it is".

Oh lord. At my age if i felt badly over not be able to achieve influencers looks I’d never get out of bed 😂. I love my body. Dimples, wrinkles, spots and all. My poor brows were plucked so thin way back in the 70s and haven’t grown back in. I’ve become a pro at drawing them in and consider them to look pretty good. But even though i can’t achieve perfection i still get great helpful ideas from you. You are a beautiful, talented hard working woman. I could only wish to aspire to your degree of perfection ❤. The best way to cut a squash with a hard shell (not zucchini or summer squash) gourd is to microwave it in a bowl with a little water for about 3-5 minutes. It softens the skin but doesn't cook the squash or pumpkin and makes it very easy to cut. I make delicata squash boats a lot and I read about this method in a recipe online. Those "trendy" girls grow up and age. I never thought I would be 70. I don't wear makeup anymore and have 2 closets stuffed with expensive clothes from when I worked. No, I wouldn't have any less of a wardrobe. In my next lifetime, I will probably have a great wardrobe then. Clothes are fun. That's one of the reasons I watch you. I won't ever wear these clothes again in what is left of this lifetime, but I still enjoy them and I don't think there's anything wrong with watching fashion shows or influencers just because I enjoy the clothes.
