Christmas on the Nano Reef - Coral and livestock update ✨

Too kind mate, I'm really enjoying this little Max Nano Reef. For water clarity I do a 10 to 15% weekly water change as part of my routines. Also I run a tea spoon of activated carbon in a media bag in the sump, which helps. I change that out every 8 to 12 weeks. Stickers 🤣🤣. That's an Instagram thing in reefing, you just approach reefers and offer to swap stickers. Great fun, but like you say it also helps to decorate your cupboard. Reefing events at AAC like love to Reef or Krakna meet at Kraken corals are another great place to pick up stickers. Thank you so much for watching mate. Take Care

@@jaysrealreefuk craft stores but you will need to sterilize them in boiling water. or sometimes LFS will give you them for nothing. Maidenhead aquatics by me have emptily for Shell dwellers. its like £5 for 6 .

@@jaysrealreefuk Well the KHD was a massive error and I reacted to the readings which sometimes turned out to be wrong. Since I stopped using it and testing KH once a week my tank has been much more stable. It was the only piece of equipment I spent good money on too besides my Great White Skimmer (which is a bargain skimmer I think as it's solid). I'm in Czech and I mostly get my corals from Fauna Marin and Freakin Corals in Lisbon - he is very close to TMC so he can choose healthy fish and ship them immediately from there. I also have a local importer I go to for more standard fish and there's others I have used for corals but I think Fauna Marin is the best - thing is we want particular corals right ;) Hope your family has a wonderful Christmas and I'm sitting next to my tank like every night 🤩

The extra space would really help.Torches and Gonipora are my favourites, so much movement and colour. For the top up tank I searched 15litre glass aquarium, not the cheapest option but works really well. It might be linked in the description in my setup videos at the start. Hope that helps mate. @@jaysrealreefuk I started with 1 head of dragon soul about 3 year's ago it grew into about 16 heads. I traded some for other bits but have 6 heads remaining I bought a hg after seeing yours several months ago and its split into 3 heads now hoping to grow it into a big colony. Cheers ady.

That is a great little tip at Christmas, I'm going to start doing that. It will help to keep the sump cleaner and prevent the build up of detritus. I just use the standard filter sock without anything inside. Have a wonderful Christmas and thanks for watching 🌲✨🥂

I run my skimmer 24/7 and it's the best piece of kit on the tank. Great for aeration to buffer pH. I would be doomed with all my livestock without the skimmer running. Have the most wonderful Christmas mate. Thank you for watching and commenting. 👍

It's such a beautiful torch mate. I got mine from Signature Frag's back in October. It's my favourite, but taking it's time to split into new heads 😂🙏

I have Salifert and Hanna test kits to test the parameters every 2 weeks. In the first 6 months of the tank I needed to measure the parameters every 3 to 5 days to dial them in and get them stable. I also send off a Triton or Reef Zlements ICP professional saltwater test every 3 months. You can pick these up from your local marine fish shop. If you need to know anything else, just ask 🙂. Apparently it needs more Par to bring out the colours. Lovely corals, but mine has never taken to life in the nano. I would describe it as surviving! Hopefully it perks up next year 😂. Have a wonderful Christmas ✨🥂
