Dear Sara, it is so beautiful. Will make as soon as I have time. I always like to watch first, then try. You really are contributing a lot for origami lovers, so we can make these beautiful things under your guidance. It is almost Thanksgiving here and I am grateful for having people like you to guide others who are not as good in folding origami. THANK you--

Sara, I watched the video once to see how it was done and to get the basic fold sequence down. I wasn't sure if I could do it given that I am not a very experienced origami folder but thought I would give it a try. Other than having the paper rip in two places, likely because I was a little rambunctious with my fold, it turned out perfect. I also think it might look a little better with a slightly thicker paper. I was using a regular sheet of Kami but of the cheapest type. I am going to try a few more times and then see if I can fold it with something just a bit thicker. You are such a good teacher. I find those tutorials that include oral instruction as well as visual help so much. I can sometimes do without the oral but for more complex models I need to the oral. My brain seems to work best when I understand what it is I am trying to accomplish and also where the markers are for each fold. For that reason I love your channel, Leyla Torres, Jeremy and a couple of other channels. Thank you so much as I would never have been able to do this without your assistance. I am looking forward to trying more of your tutorials.

Congrats on completing the fold! I agree that the model works better with a bit thicker paper. I'm also happy to hear that you like my presentation style. :)

I haven't tried, but am almost certain that Elephant Hide would give you an absolutely beautiful model. And the sharp look should come for free as long as you make strong creases. :)
@Happyfolding
@Happyfolding 11 лет назад
I did. :) It actually didn't feel that small. I thought about using a 15cm square in the video, but figured it'd be easier to see the details with a slightly larger square.

Hi, I used 34x34 cm or 12x12 in heavy paper used for scrapbooking. It took 3 tries. Initially I tried the 9x9 but it didnt work out. I have Parkinsons and I like the bigger paper. I am so happy it turned out and want to thank you for your great video. U have a great voice and quality videos.

I used regular A4 paper sheet, and after pre-creasing it got torn a bit in the middle, but I finished it anyway. Nice demonstration, your instructions were clear, thanks :D.

I did this, but with a hexagon and it got me wondering - is there a sure-fire way to tell if you can translate the folds you're making onto different polygons? This one even seems like it could work on an irregular polygon, provided that there were folds parallel to the edges, and the angles were bisected...

Thanks a tonne for this video, I was able to get this one in my second attempt. The blog site of Francesco Guarnieri also contains some marvelous models of pyramids. Can you please make videos of some of them too? There are diagrams showing the creasing, but very difficult to create them by just seeing the diagram. Warm regards from India, Shyam.

I don't understand why you call it 'infinity'???🤔🤔
@Happyfolding
@Happyfolding 6 лет назад
It's not me that names the models, it's the designers. :) As to why: you could add even more iterations - if the paper's large enough.
@fguarnieri1
@fguarnieri1 4 года назад
Because we could add other concentric stars. Above all, it is possible to obtain many variants, maintaining the same closure system. Other information: guarnieri-origami.blogspot.com/2013/09/stella-infinita-infinity-star.html

the confusion starting from 13 minutes was really unnecessarly :( I mean why demonstrate one way then suddenly shift to another!
@daviddonahue1967
@daviddonahue1967 10 лет назад
The first method was “in the air”, several folds are done in one step...without having to reverse creases and the second method is done with pre-creasing on the table then reversing some folds. You then have the choice to approach the model as you are comfortable with and arrive at the same destination as others. There are many models and bases that can be approached differently as well. Take for example the preliminary base also known as the square base. It can be folded in at least three ways off the top of my head, She is not offering confusion but options, and you can choose the path that you want.

@Happyfolding

Yes, it's a more advanced model. If it's a bit too challenging right now, try folding some easier models to hone your skills and then come back to this one. This is what I've done many times in the past, and it's always been so rewarding to see how I progressed, finally managing to master the complex folds that were too difficult for me before.
