My life was changed when, maybe thirty years ago, a copy of Madhur Jaffery's Indian Cooking arrived with a book order, despite my not having ordered it. My favorite of Jaffrey's cookbooks is indeed Flavours of India. Excellent choice!
Lovely video. I received Diptyque Opsis for my birthday because my boyfriend was visiting London and I begged him to stop by Harrods to pick it up. I hadn't smelled it previously, but I watched your video on the scent and you were not wrong. It's beautiful. Thank you!
Rose de Jamal is a beauty - think it kind of flew under the radar a bit as Vanille Havane captured the headlines (rightly as it's great). Beautiful scent! Keep up the good work too, your videos are consistently spot on.
I like this theme. The world needs love indeed. Having a baby this summer lit my heart on fire ❤️🔥 I also toned down my perfume wearing so I didn’t blast her out and it made me more sensitive to subtle life smells, somehow never offensive on her.
I couldn't stop laughing when you started talking about Peosym's HORN OK PLEASE. In fact, I was cruising on the motorway whilst listening to the recording and no sooner a truck was trying to ovetake another rather hopelessly which led to me using the horn as I was going to overtake both. My horn was returned promptly probably by the driver of the very so marginally faster truck! My wife's from India so I think she'll find this really funny and since I'm a sandalwood lover I might just place an order. They are giving a discount which partially offsets the delivery charge all the way from Oz. Though I can't fathom why they have used synthetic sandalwood when there's supposed to be plenty of the real stuff farmed in Oz? On another note, I find that Goutal's Ambre Sauvage is quite similar to their Ambre Fetiche of which I used to have the limited edition butterfly bottle. I like you mentioned Ex Idolo 33, I also really like that Ryder incense perfume. It's mind blowingly rich and boozy.
Mr P! Sad I missed the live but this is such a great round up. I might get the cookbook for my darling husband who is on a journey with cooking lately! While it’s not been the greatest on my waistline, it’s so nice to see him pick up a hobby that gets him beaming!
So glad you are mentioning Eau de Protection. A true gem within the entire ELDO collection and another sample of how versatile a rose scent can be. This rose has thorns, its metallic "blood-like" opening seems to say "do not get too close or I will sting you". The name is so very well chosen, because wearing it does give you the feeling of being protected, being cocooned if this makes sense. Thank you so much for bringing this one into the spotlight.
Thanks for this episode Mr. P! Love that you put Goutal's Ambre Sauvage in there. I have a bottle from the first presentation when it came out and it is sooooo beautiful! There is a little bonfire in there. To me a very poetic perfume made with skills and... lots of love! In that Les Absolus collection Vanille Charnelle was also splendid! And, I would love to get a little Noir Épices from Frederic Malle for XMAS 🌲Happy holiday season!
This was such a fun and interesting video. I laughed so hard at Mitch and Gavin's comments, comedy duo there 🤣 I would love to get Chanel's Bois des Iles and Cuir de Russie parfum extraits this Christmas. Smooth sandalwood and smokey leather is perfect for cold weather.
I am thinking of gifting myself a fragrance for Christmas this year. That fragrance is the Amouage Crystal & Gold men's fragrance. I may be scared away by the price though. I also may miss it because it sells out, since there are only going to be 500 bottles available. My guess is that it is going to be extremely expensive.
Missed the live. Thanks Mr. Persolaise, for a very engaging list for Christmas. I am loving the theme of "for the love of...." It really worked to further pique the interest of your audience. I certainly was enthralled with the extra layer of stimulus. Great idea from a professional educator & top perfume influencer. Not sure what happened to my notifications... Delighted with this including the Creed "for the love of God" joke. Nice banter. 😅
Ooo, I'll just point my husband over here for this year's Christmas perfume :) . You have the correct take on Christmas tree/decorations going up and taken down. I feel the same about Christmas lights. VERY weird to see them in my 'hood right after Halloween. Can we just get through Thanksgiving, guys (here in the States)?
Hi Persolaise, Can you please help me? I'm buying so many rotten tomatos, trying to find my signature bright white musc perfume. Modern & niche, but still affordable? I,m loving how clean cut Bubble bath by MM is, so something hitting that mark? Ps, I have lazy sunday but theres a dandilion note to my nose lol. I' also find the Byredo & narcisso frags a bit filthy. Thank you in advance xxx
