I’m of two minds about Bicester Village. It can be quite hit or miss with inventory stock of odd sizes or trendy items and lack of classic items. If I recall the train ticket from London isn’t cheap and you feel compelled to buy something to make it worth the time and cost to get there. And now with COVID, definitely not going to queue outdoors in winter weather.

I wanted a Harrods Hamper just for the hamper, not the food, so I bought it on eBay. It arrived in perfect condition at a fraction of the cost of buying one from Harrods! I think employers are not honest about why they reject candidates because they are worried about being sued. The company can have a perfectly good reason for preferring A over B, but B will sue regardless, without even factoring in that their reasons are often highly subjective, which makes the lawsuit a greater possibility! To the girl from HK. While you are applying for a full time job, try applying for contracting jobs or part time jobs. Contact some job agents as they should have contracting/ part time jobs on hand. Meanwhile, you may want to apply for some other jobs even if it’s unrelated to your field, just to show potential employers that you are proactive, eager to learn and hard working. Maybe apply for part time sales assistant jobs in boutiques, as this also shows you have good communication skills. Or take some college/ university courses. Do a diploma. This is the best time to advance your study/ interest. Good luck.

@16:38 I was pretty sure it’s pronounced Moh wet because Claude Moët is Dutch. The ë indicates that the e has to be pronounced as a separate syllable, because normally in Dutch oe is pronounced o as in to, who, do, in English. I’m still learning Dutch. 😅

I just wanted to politely add: Yes, the correct way of saying Porsche is with “ae” (=porshae), Nike is with “e” (=niky) and Adidas is Adi-Das (coming from Adi Dassler, brother of Rudolf Dassler/Puma). I know, as I am originally from Germany and also had business relationships in sports + with Nike USA. Concerning job interviews/reasons of rejection: Most people won’t tell you, but it’s quite often absolutely subjective! I was involved in several such decisions (hiring), and it was often something that didn’t even have anything to do with the person, like how much stress that day etc. If you (your followers) ever want more detailed information, I’d gladly share a couple things too! I can not believe there are no baskets for umbrellas at the entrance in Prada, so husband carries them!!

I actually visited here this Saturday, I was abit surprised at how much less of certain items they had other times I visited. Stella McCartney had hardly any bags that where actually wearable and the amount of bags had reduced a lot. Prada was either hit or miss depending on what your taste was but nothing eye catching. Maybe it was the time I had chosen to go.

Yes Sophie from an Aussie I say Porche without the a 🤣

It’s actually pronounced Mo-ET. Yes, you pronounce the “t.” Moët was Dutch, (married Chandon’s daughter) and the Dutch pronounce the “t.” I learned this when I went to Epernay, France to visit the champagne houses there.

I always call the interviewed candidates back even when they don’t get the job. Sophie, you would be surprised at the percentage of people, especially the younger ones, who refuse to receive the feedback when I ask if they want my feedback. They get upset at not getting the job & don’t want to hear anything else. I had one person hung up the phone on me. It’s very unfortunate as I want to help them. That’s probably the reason why some managers don’t even want to give feedback anymore. Some resort to sending an email instead of calling.
