I love playing with bath bomb recipes and seeing what happens. Sometimes things go perfectly, other times the weather gets me and we have some interesting bath bombs. These turned out well enough. I easily trimmed the backs with a planer and because the front was so perfectly detailed on the bombs I left alone, you could not tell the weather played havoc with my newest formula that day. If you do not want to play with water you can always make a butter bomb and use your favorite solid oils and butters which works almost perfectly every time for me. I do have an awesome recipe for sale in my shop here...
Sadly, I lost the exact written recipe demonstrated in the video. Fortunately I have a ton of basic awesome recipes that work well every time...
Here is one of my favorite bomb recipes: 2 cups sodium bicarbonate, 1 cup citric acid, 1 Tablespoon sodium laurel sulphate (optional but great for bubbles and emulsifying the oils), 1 teaspoon of your favorite butter or oil, 1 tsp. polysorbate 80, 1 tsp fragrance oil. Mix all ingredients omitting the citric acid. Once well blended take a fist full of the mix, if it holds together when you drop your ball of mix then add your citric acid. If it needs a little more binder use 90% alcohol to spritz (or water) until you get a good form that does not crack when you drop it back into the mix. Pack into the mold you have chosen or spread it out on a pan for fairy dust to dry. Tip for drying: heat your oven to 200 F. Turn off the oven, then add your bombs to dry in the warm heat. Good luck
