These two men (along with Peter Cushing) defined what it really mean't to be as a horror movie icon. They were classy, funny and commanding presences. True heroes of horror cinema.
@@aaronshouting588 If you look Peter is there also. Vincent Price was great here for his comedic value and yet you can see the admiration for each other. It was a great 2 minutes of entertainment.
I just love that look of utter disbelief on Christophers face when he's told that Price is waiting in the backroom ;) kinda brought a tear to my eye when i was just thinking back on all the good times i've had growing up watching both of them, and all those hammer productions.
You don't often see Christopher Lee smile genuinely in his films (usually he gives an evil or condescending smirk because of the role) so it's lovely to see him beaming here.
Watch "Laura" sometime. He hadn't quite locked down his future accent yet and still had the "Missourah" poking through, and it's unnerving to hear him sound like that AND be so young looking (even though he was already in his mid-30s).
Oh, Vincent Price. What a personality and what a loss to us all. A friend of mine in West London told me of a classmate in school who happened to get chatting to Vincent in a pub and Vincent used to invite him to his house where he lived with his wife, Coral Browne, and he would cook the most wonderful meals for this chap. This video points to one of the great mysteries of our age - where have all the people with talent and personality gone? Where has the gentlemanly behaviour gone? Where have the people who commanded respect and admiration gone? This is probably the greatest sudden extinction since the dinosaurs disappeared but, unlike that event, there is nothing of any value taking its place.
Vincent Price - what a delightful man he was. This tribute to one of the best actors in horror films, Chris Lee, encapsulates the class that is sorely missing in today's world of entertainment. RIP to both talented, true gentlemen.
Oh yes I live Vincent and have since I was younger there are a lot of people older than me that dont know who he is it's a shame he was an amazing person!
Christopher Lee always used to say in interviews that he was totally heartbroken when Peter Cushing and Vincent Price passed away. He had photos of the three of them together all over the house, and Peter Cushing told Terry Wogan that he worshiped Christopher, both on and off screen. I know they worked in that industry for all those years together, but how wonderful that their friendship should last a lifetime. Vincent Price always used to say that both Boris Karloff and Peter Cushing were perfect "English Gentlemen" and were deeply loved by all who worked with them.
Teen years were spent in theaters being scared and entertained by these greats. Unknown to this generation is these great actors and their high standing prior to the horror genre they later embraced, especially Vincent Price. Had the privilege to hear him expound in person from the stage and to ask for and receive his autograph back stage. He was very gracious and kind to this rude pushy teenage girl whom clumsily shoved paper and pen at him. Will never forget his calm dignity and smile as he graciously signed. Rest In Peace both great thespians. You are missed.
They are sadly missed no one will replace them ever I love Vincent prices personality a great sense of humour I loved him in the masque of the red death amazing film and in the fly and Chris Lee was amazing in the wicker Man and the devil rides out !!!! Both classic films not forgetting Peter Cushing of course I just wish these people were still around!!!
It's amazing to see the men behind your favorite horror movies, they are so warm and nice, Even have a sense of humor, love Vincent Price ,Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
Lee and Vincent...total legends. I loved classic horror as a child and these two, along with Cushing, both scared and thrilled me but in a wholly affectionate way that horror did back then which is probably impossible to recreate that "charm" their horror films had. Just magic. Listening to Lee in interviews, the wit and elegance of the man always made me wish I was related to him. I could listen to him for hours. Cinema has lost one of its greats and England one of its finest gentlemen. You will be missed Sir Christopher.
Obscure Entertainment Don't worry, he's back home again, with his parents, and friends, like Peter Cushing and playing his movie roles for all the eternity.
Admittedly I haven't seen many of Christopher's films but I grew up watching Vincent in the Hammer horrors. I guess they'll have met up again, two legends reminiscing. RIP Christopher and Vincent.
Unlike today's 'fake' liking and loving of each other when in truth such actors hate each other, you could tell the absolute delight that Christopher Lee showed in his face learning that his old friend was there and Vincent Price in his usual masterly way made fun of him self, greatly praised Lee and finished off with a well-timed joke. I doubt we will see the likes of such actors both skilled, very intelligent and wise in so many other avenues of life apart from their films.
No words. Those two heroes of mine in the same tape. I can't handle this. This is probably the best video on the tube. Mr. Price has a sense of humour too much ahead of all times. And look at Mr. Lee face when he hears that Price is coming and at the end, when he suddenly put all his attention to his older colleague's words.. Look at two sincere men, two gentlemen, such class you can't find today. Two great actors and persons.
There will never be another like him. So many great stories, so many tales. Such an exciting life, extinguished like an amber flame. May it smolder into eternity. We will forever miss you, Sir Christopher Lee.
Two icons of what used to be a respected genre of the business, today it's all jump scares and over the top gore. The suspense and fear have pretty much vanished...
Love love loved these two.gentlemen ...apart from Peter Cushing Both handsome men ...especially Christopher. N thoroughly enjoyed Vincent Price sense of humour.❤❤
God I miss these guys! The only ones we have these days that are close to this kind of caliber, and it's still a stretch, are people like Robert Englund, Charles Dance, Brad Dourif, and Scary Gary Oldman.
Two of the best hammer film actors with the same birthday who worked with Johnny depp and Tim Burton. Rest in peace to both Christopher Lee and Vincent price.
As our MC said, these two were truly a pair of the very greatest of the greats of horror fims. I hope that both are now happily reunited in the spirit world, RIP to the great Chrisopher Lee.
