While I do think some reordering was necessary, the reality is that, like many countries around the world, New Zealand is suffering from the same crisis. The reason is simple - there has been unchecked immigration into NZ, resulting in many unskilled workers from different cultures that now swamp all infrastructure, from housing to hospitals. Just as with roads, NZ has taken in these extra immigrants but has not upgraded roading or hospitals significantly - no new major hospitals have been built. - Simple logistics. Instead, we are appeasing global politics like the UN from climate to immigration. Time to stop rearranging the furniture it only helps to a point in a small crowded room.
I am happy to hear it being called health NZ again, I look forward to all other government agencies following suit I also hope that the word "woman" is also put back into Women's health care!
@@Rebecca-nx5ec Why wouldn’t we? We support everyone we trade with, when they are getting illegally invaded. We have had hundreds of million in trade with Ukraine over the last few years. We export a lot of meat, wool, dairy, wine. They make us oils, dyes, paints and boats. If they don’t succeed, we lose trade and we’ve worked very hard at maintaining that relationship with Ukraine.
@@poerava what relationship, lol they don't do any real meaningful deals with us and you should care more about the homeless camps growing in this country and how we solve that problem before we fund a war with money we clearly don't have, too a country that's never going to win, on the other side of the planet!
The PM did not refer to reports written about combining health boards ( created by National, which were always in deficit). Is this an Overton Window? The Commissioner appointed ran a health boards which ran losses.
Primister is absolutely right its not about how much money pure into health care its also about good Management Expectations and values keep up good Sean Reti
It would be appreciated if you tell us what your going to do rather than always telling what the last government did or didn't do! Just tell us what you are doing... I just gets so confusing
@@d.a2500 not every time though, we know what's been happening. It doesn't matter what government is in they all do it. They just need to get on with what they are doing. It's like play ground banter and after it all you still are unsure what is happening. Half of the speech is what has been not what is going to be. Not good to look in the past all the time
@@BettyBob-g5c it never does and I don't expect it to be. I can't be bothered listening to 20mins or how everlong they go on. Just need to tell is what they're intending and get on with it. I not singling them out, it's politics & politicians in general, they all play the blame game.
@@BettyBob-g5c nothing ever happens over night, never has or will. Everything takes time yes. All politicians play the blame game doesn't matter what party they in. I just said I'm over hearing all the negative.
@@d.a2500 If you read what I said, it doesn't matter which party they all do it. You will think what you want to think and that's your opinion and your welcome to it. I'm not interested in debating so going to spend any more time thinking about. Enjoy your evening
Maybe the health Department should outline their ideal operations and management models and the Govt show their policy binding the process, then let that work out 😅
Good question! Overspending! No exact details? General answers! The minister acknowledge that over spend increased since new government took over . So the PM and it cabinet is responsible for the overspending.
I am so sick of how this government can't mention a single thing it's going to do without mentioning how they feel the last government failed. And their language is so targeted "they just 'smashed' the DHBs together". Makes it sound like they were children working with blocks. It was complicated work. Not something that's been done. Calling your predecessors work "botched attempts" does not sound like there is any hope of cooperation. What confidence can we, as the public have that is any intention to work with nearly half of our governmental body? When all you do is spit vitriol at them. These are supposed to be a formal addressing of the public. You should be ashamed of how you carry yourselves.
@@CaptScrotes I'm sick of the media attacking every one of their ideas, they sure are sad la our lost right, and yeah I agree with Luxon on describing what labour did to our health system, labour added how many desk jobs did he say? I hope no one you know has been waiting for healthcare, it's a disgrace
Sounds like a whole lot of deflection before they have actually shown any real positive results. At least it all 'sounds' good but we are def still in the shyt
@@Rebecca-nx5ec they only mention job growth since 2018. Be wary of anyone who will only show you a specific segment of a graph without context of the wider picture. I would like to see them measure this growth against the last 20 to 25 years. The records should exist. Their information is all viewed through such a narrow lense, you should at least be curious. Also, I don't hold media to the same account as media isn't making the decisions about my country.
@@CaptScrotes one could say that about any graph from any politician, we can of course seek information out ourselves but don't you think the media should actually ask those questions because all I hear is repeat repeat repeat the same questions intended to discredit rather than asking the real questions,
@@Rebecca-nx5ec sure, the media can do a lot better. But that's not the point I'm making. And my response totally agreed with your first point, yes it should be a priority for policitians to give us the bigger picture and provide context. What good is democracy if we aren't voting with adequate knowledge. I don't think all of this information is so easily available to the public. To figure out the graph I'm asking for here means I'm sifting through dozens of annual reports when, presumably, they have that information right in front of them but are choosing to focus on the period of time the previous government held the seat. Yes to more graphs, yes to looking more objectively at trends if they even exist. And yes to media asking the right questions. I think we're in agreement here Rebecca.
Isn't it time to stop blaming the last Govt and just get the job done showing confidence in his own decisions and not constantly blame someone else for having to make his decisions. This is not the sort of rhetoric you would expect from from a PM
Since 1991 neoliberal economics continues affect people in negative way with house ownership dropping from 74 % to 59% lowest since 1946 . No reflection on this?
In view of the latest Democratic Report. It seems that the current national governments have a mantra “Solve It My Way” until the next election happens. The 3 main strategy points by this PM are quite simplistic and incomplete. Maybe also based on flawed old data.
I could pay way more, far far to many boards. How can they profess our interests. Our tax system favours the inert and oz, discusting reflection on our economic wit.
NZ was run like a third world country in health in particular . Hundreds of people employed in the sector but nothing to show for this as outcomes for health , We should look forward to efficiencies and better health outcomes for all .
@@loubliss7471 I saw it get the worse I have seen it get ever in the last six years so even if it gets worse from here on in we're still well ahead on what it would have been under the wokes
What does trump have to do with NZ politics? Absolutely nothing. Just another Braindead labour supporter, saying Braindead comments that’s have nothing to do with this.
Its about time the blame game honeymoon should be eradicated by present Govt and get on the job and do something. Everybody knows how previous Govt performed so move on
