The most important film ever made. If you think about it, what other film inspired generation after generation of kids. Hand any person in the world born after 1965 a pillowcase and play the Theme to Superman and I will bet they will all tie it around their necks as a cape like they did when they were 10. Male or female.. No other film could do that. At least, I cant think of one
Christopher Reeve is definitely the GOAT Superman, sorry Henry Cavell and the new bloke who was just just cast by James Gunn and who'll be playing Superman in 2025.
@@charliemoore4047 1978 Superman was the first film I ever saw, I was 5 or 6 years old and my Big Sister took me. I love Christopher Reeve and he always made believe that he was the REAL Superman💕💕💕💕💕He is sorely missed😭😭😭😭RIP 😇
@@knightmare_edits but its true though. I love DC and want them to overtake Marvel. That's why it's been so frustrating watching DC just mess everything up somehow. The flash bombed badly and they just can't get it right.Hopefully Gunn can improve things
@@knightmare_editsDawg did he say he hates DC? I love DC. I love this movie, literally one of my favorite movies. But CGI sucking in movies recently is painfully obvious and it isn't even a DC exclusive thing.
This was very good graphics for a PlayStation 2 game. It's amazing how computer graphics have advanced so greatly since then. I look forward to seeing the new Flash movie, where I hear the CGI is amazing!
This reversed scene along with the song background gave me the old flashbacks of some old dark cartoons type (DC style) and this reminds me of the old Sonic the Hedgehog game from the console.
I like that they both contributed to Smallville at different times. Christopher Reeve portrayed Dr. Virgil Swann whom was the one to reveal Clark's Kryptonian heritage to him, while Helen Slater portrayed Lara the Kryptonian mother of Kal-El.
I heard the makers of the 1984 Supergirl film begged Chris to be in their film, but he said no. They ended up having to make do with a poster of him as Superman on the wall of some girl's college dorm room, and it was mentioned in the film that Supes was off world on some mission or other.
Supergirl:What is the point of having us here? Superman:Fanservice this way maybe people will actually come and see this. Supergirl:Dang we don't even help out or just wave? Superman: Nah they got Nic Cages version doing something. Supergirl:He was Superman?
When I saw this scene I had mad goosebumps this move is underrated and it was actually pretty darn good just the story was a bit off and not knowing what happen to the mother.
I hope DC asked Chris Reeve's children for permission to use his likeness in this film. Although I am happy they included him; he was the greatest Superman after all. And I heard John Glover said in a recent tweet that Chris would have approved if he'd still been alive as he loved Superman a lot, and John had worked with him prior to Smallville, so he knew how Chris felt about the character.
leaving aside the bad cgi, the bad jokes, the bad performance of ezra miller, the inconsistencies and the humiliation of the two batmans, it is a good movie
I thought it was a little cheesy personally, like let’s stick this random slideshow in the movie to break the 4th wall. I was excited going in thinking Nicholas Cage might actually show up for a few scenes.
I haven't been able to confirm this, but I had heard that Reeve never waned to be portrayed as being seen walking/standing upright after he passed away. Can anyone confirm this?
They tried, but it didn't work... Just a few days ago i watched "Superman II: The Donner cut", and I was besides myself! Maybe the movie could have repurposed existing footage or even clips from the old superman movies (no idea about copyrights).
He's the one and only true Superman for me. I wish he could have had a bigger part in the movie, I don't know how advanced the technology is and if it's ethical, but I would have liked to see them going through the portal to help Batman, Flash and the new Supergirl against Zod.
I thought it was a tad disrespectful to show Nicholas Cage longer screen time than Christopher Reeve. Reeve was Superman in 4 movies, Gage never played Superman on film. Reeve deserved better.
I agree. Chris deserved a longer cameo than what they did. Plus I've seen Nic dressed as Superman and his suit was just trash if you ask me. Chris's Superman suit looked 1000 times better. Plus the red trunks on Nic's suit looked more like bikini bottoms than trunks, to me anyway.
Doesn't "cameo" means "unimportant role played by famous figure"? I wouldn't put them to same level with Robert Patrick in Terminator 5. There's even people who calls appreciate of Zod a cameo. Just why?
In theory, it's a beautiful moment. Takes me back to the 80's, and wearing out those first four Superman movies on VHS. The CGI in this movie is absolute trash tho. I've seen better CGI from movies that are 20 years old. How is it they couldn't do substantially better?
It felt weird how supergirl left this scene:/ do people not know how to make cgi movement look real🤔 if not, use real people with motion capture🤦 we have the technology folks
Not really its paying tribute to the greatest superman to don the cape who sadly passed away all those years ago i was not aware appreciating was disgusting
@@brunxin9280 Sorry to be a nerd, but this is technically illegal considering there is a law requiring a studio to get permission from a late actor’s family before cg’ing them into a movie. Christopher Reeve’s family was not reached out about this so no one could’ve approved it.
@@brunxin9280 The CGI looks creepy and unnatural, and it's just ghoulish to use someone's likeness after their death without their consent. Yes, they probably got the rights from one of his kids, but he personally didn't sign off on this.
Look it's cool as shit they were able to do this (cgi aside) but I don't get why they couldn't just use the already living actors. Bring back Brandon routh as Supes rather Christopher Reeves Just Get Nicolas Cage rather than cgi Grant gustin rather than the Jay garrick here Lynda Carter wonder woman etc..etc It's most likely money, they probably couldn't afford th extra actors for 5 second cameos but cmon, they could've tried harder, and I say that as someone who enjoyed the movie.
DCEU was on its way down for a white. The last good DC was the Dark Knight Trilogy. I know Zack Snyder has his fans and they are entitled to their opinions. However the fact remains his films brought down the franchise. BvS was the worst Superhero movie ever and it just went down hill from there. His best movie MOS was brought down by his obsession of filming it through this dark filter. The movie had other faults to be sure but that was a big one.
