As part of the exhibition “Mark Rothko”, his son Christopher Rothko gave a talk on Monday, March 18, 2019, at the Cupola Hall of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Trained as a clinical psychologist, Christopher Rothko gave up his practice to oversee the legacy of his father Mark Rothko, to help with the organization of exhibitions and to lecture about his work. He has been closely involved in the exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, from the preliminary planning and decisions about which works to exhibit, up to and including the final installation. He will talk in detail about his father’s career and legacy, and offer his own personal interpretation of the exhibition, which will be on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna from March 12 to June 30, 2019.
