I found Lucina's interactions with Chrom and Robin to be pretty wholesome, and Veronica remembering Heroes Anna through Engage Anna is a pretty interesting concept.
@@TheIllustriousQ1 mostly every single emblem, they’ve all met her except Micaiah, Ike and Celica, because in Tellius she’s the tutorial guide (not seen by the members in game) and in Gaiden it’s the only game she doesn’t exist in
Kinda a blatant mobile spoiler to have her act like her book 6 self. They can't hide how she looks since she's on the home screen and banners, but they for sure can keep an entire book worth of development in hiding lol. Mainly I guess for newcomers going into feh
@@krismarshall3803 maybe that’s why they reference up to Book V. Book VI personality is a bit of a spoiler, and Book VII was only just getting started.
Anna from engage always intrigued me because of many reasons. One is she has and knows about her sisters who also go by anna in other worlds. And another is she even knows they're most likely in those other worlds and at the end of the game we see her reuniting with them meaning the annas have the power to cross to different worlds!
People say that Veronica in Engage has her Book I personality. However, that is not accurate. In her Bond conversations (which PM1 will likely upload like he did with the other DLC Emblems), Veronica makes references to events that happened after Book I. For example, in Diamant's conversation, she mentions the events of late Book II. With Mauvier, she says she was in a similar situation to him, with making allies of former enemies (and Vero's post-Book VI alliance is the one that most resemble's Mauvier's, as prior to that she was more like a frenemy that didn't show concern about "not fitting in" like Mauvier does). Also, when speaking with Veyle, she tells her that the story of her fighting the Order of Heroes brings her sad memories. Plus she shows some of her personality growth from post Book VI, mainly on the subject of trust and friendship. With many characters, she is eager to hear their stories and to become their friends, and when she reaches the A-level Bond, she is very open with expressing how much she appreciates their friendship. (Some of these instances are quite wholesome, like that in Veyle's conversation). In Ivy's conversation, she even makes a remark where she admits that she struggles with trusting people, but that she understands that not trusting others leads to loneliness. Also, Emblem Veronica is very peculiar. Many of her Engage conversations involve her expressing her desire to improve as a ruler for her people, and the way she talks is unlike the other Emblems: All the other Emblems talk like their journeys have come to a conclusion, but Veronica talks like there is still a future for her to improve in her world. This is likely because the game where she comes from is still ongoing, while those of the other Emblems are concluded narratives. I think that writing Engage Vero like that is a good thing. They put a Vero that omits many aspects of her post-Book VI character growth, but they don't present her as "Vero at the end of her journey", but rather as "Vero at a point where her journey still has a long way to go".
The Premonition map makes perfect sense for Chrom and Robin’s battleground and even has the dark barrier gimmick. It’s also has charming dialogue with Lucina too. I like the Feh fan service Engage had for Veronica. From the Summon Hero ability and Engage animations, to her book 6 Remix, and of course the funny dialogue with Anna. Even acknowledging Commander Anna and the order of Heroes.
@@CrobatmanIamthenight I mean to be fair if that were true than Hector would be bald and bleeding out on the floor while Sigurd would be a pile of ash.
This game continues to surprise me in great ways. Even though veronica's writing is an...interesting direction I see what they wanted to capture and I love chrobin's dialogue. This game has slowly walked it's way up to my personal top 3 and I cant wait to see if the last DLC chapter continues to impress!
Aaah Chrobin is so cute regardless of which gender Robin has. I feel blessed with this and the recent LH!Robin in Feh. They really put a lot of love into this.
Real :') We haven't seen him since he gave her the blessing thing from askr in like, book 6. And that was off-screen cause we were following Bruno! I wonder if he's just been chilling in Embla all this time, or if Veronica finally sent him home... He saw the hurt tormenting her when almost no one else did and chose to stick by her side. I thought it was contrived back when we first got book 1 (of which the writing was... not good), but damn, the Heroes cast really grew on me over time! Book 1 Veronica is like a triple whammy of Leo's superior-inferiority complex + Corrin's loneliness + Elise's devastating little sister status, so in hindsight Xander never stood a chance haha! I wished we got him as an Emblem instead, too.
I get that but really, Azura deserved that spot considering she's literally the only character to be really important in all routes in a supporting role
Yeah I feel that should’ve been more explained, maybe this isn’t the exact same Veronica. Also considering she doesn’t have the power to open gates but close them when here she summons heroes to fight, unless I’m forgetting something from book 1 I can’t remember
@@SapphicSara maybe....but I got spoiled on Black Knight thanks to FEH, so I don't really know if they care about spoilers. My logic is that Heroes in FEH takes around 6-8 months to develop, and L! Veronica released in November 2022. Engage was meant to release way earlier but got stopped by Covid, I assume they have 1-2 years to develop the DLC, nd during that time Veronica's personality hasn't really developed as much as it is in Book 6, I think they just updated the model to match the current Veronica. Besides, this Veronica doesn't even have Enclosing Dark as her weapon. That's the only explanation I can think of Veronica having her Book 6 design and having her old personality
L!Robin's title is: "Exalt's other half". And here Lucina also said something similar: "It feels weird to fight father's other half". That combined with Duo!Chrom and that "We weren't going to discuss that in front of her" line at 1:42 makes this all feel so intentional lol. Chrom really sounded like he was saying "not in front of the kids, sweety".
sounds like robin and chrom are roommates during a war tour or something where all chrom could talk about is how lucinas doing Imagine if he asked how she was doing like, lucina: "I was brainwashed into fighting the divine dragon and the other emblem rings against my own will" chrom: ...next time we're going to be in the same emblem ring so that I can supervise you on the other note it seems like male robin is canon and that lucina isn't his canon partner. I wonder who is then?
Valentine's Duo with both Chrom and Male Robin. Robin's legendary alt is called "Exalt's Other Half", Lucina calling Robin "Chrom's other half". It's hilarious.
@@cleffa173 Lucina: "Oh, Robin? You and father sleep together last night?" Robin: "We had sex. No sleeping. Sex." Lucina: "...." (If you get the reference 😂)
Ngl, Veronica having the personality of being a enemy in Book 1 really doesn't do her justice in this game. Having the personality of at least becoming a Brave Hero would've been more interesting as that's when the FEH player base supported her the most and also when she starts fighting alongside the Askr trio which is pretty early on in the books still for new players to know about. It is also bit weird for Veronica to have Book 6 outfit design as it doesn't really match the personality in Engage. It might just be me but I find it very inconsistent - She really needed to have the personality of wanting to help Embla and Askr to match the purpose for her outfit in Engage.
I'm almost convinced that her having the book 6 design was a late addition in development and done just to promote current FEH since that's her default design nowadays. The fact that Engage was finished in 2021 and the Book of Worlds skill only goes up to book 5 means that book 6's story probably wasn't fully thought of at the time, so they probably couldn't implement her redeemed personality into Engage's DLC.
@@garyconstanza3120 Oh that would make sense actually. I still think having Brave Veronica personality would've been best though since CYL is pretty popular and they were willing to put the Staff in as well. I can understand the outfit to promote engage but now this creates confusion when engage players play book 6 in feh for the first time due to personality differences.
@@dmanvgc6328 Or if it were the other way around, Engage players' first impression of Veronica would be her mellowed-out self from Book 6, only to be confused when starting the FEH story and seeing her as colder and more cruel than they expected her to be. I'd rather they didn't bother with the cross promotion for the then-upcoming book and just used her OG design for the sake of consistency, but I agree that the CYL attire seems like a good middle ground too.
Reading a lot of these comments, I feel it is best that I remind people that the de-normalization and fetishization of emotional bonds between straight males is *INCREDIBLY* dangerous, because it plays into the super unfair, toxic, suffocating, and dangerous stereotype that straight men are not allowed to (or not capable of) having emotional bonds with their friends 👍👍👍👍👍👍
yes, BUT chrom and robin (when robin is female) are able to be canon, so many see it to be the same for m!robin, which i think is completely reasonable given the circumstances
@@Manganimemer surrogacy is real and Fe is a world of magic so it's never been an issue for people, and he really isn't written with a specific sexuality, rather being a product of his time. I can almost guarantee if awakening came out now you would be able to s-support chrom as either robin!
@@Jeeplite you can almost guarantee? Well I can *literally* guarantee that you wouldn’t be able to do that. If you have to jump through a thousand hoops to explain your reasoning, your reasoning is bad. The long and short of it is that Chrom and Robin have an emotional bond and love each deeply as friends. *And that is okay.* Forcing them to be in a relationship even if you have to deny all logic to do so, *as you are currently doing,* goes back to the whole de-normalization of emotional bonds between straight males. You are part of the problem.
