It was indeed a very useful 52 minutes. I learned a lot. I’m not a doctor, just a seamstress. But I enjoy listening to your lectures while I am sewing. Thank you for putting it in a way that is easy to understand.
I have become extremely sensitive to gluten. I was miserable for 18 months with a rash that all Dr's attributed to gluten. I was not ingesting any(I thought) gluten. Of course it coincided with the virus shut down of this country so getting help was difficult. On of my daughters from another mother who studied to be a pharmacy tech helped me. She discovered that a medication I was taking had a gluten filler. 2 days after ceasing the medication the rash abated. My body has rewarded me by losing weight for the first time in years. I'm a real believer in chronic inflammation and how our body reacts. I have dry eyes and mouth but not sjogrens by testing and biopsy. Thankfully I have Dr's that help treat these conditions despite the negative testing. I think my body's immune system is so ramped up that covid never had a chance. Recently tomato in any form has started to effect me in an allergic manner, sneezing, etc. Interesting Dr B mentions tomatoes. Thank you for this lecture! It explains what I now think after my experience.
I have had Myalgic Encephalomyelitis since age 7, and have now had 5 acute Covid infection. I see “long Covid” dept in my hospital finally, …..my first infection was March 13th 2020. So it’s been a bit of a wait. I purchased your collection. I am not college educated. The highest education I have is a 2 year graphic design degree. Now I know about the build up about angiotensin2 (my bp is now 160/120. I’m on medication ….for example) and self ace-2 antibodies, (I ran a fever for 8 months. I could be in my feet 10 minutes 3 times a day for over a year) and monoclonal antibody had to be bought outside the medical system because only percent of monoclonal antibodies have actually gotten to the Immunocompromised. I knew for a year and a half that what I needed for long Covid. People with ME don’t fully get rid of anything. Evusheld is by lottery and only for people getting organ transplants or active chemotherapy with co-morbidities. I have small vascular damage with microbial infections, and got my 4th infection during the biopsy for scleroderma type damage from the the other 3 cases. It’s been fun! You’ve been an inspiration. Thank you. Wow. Wow. I just finished this. My ears and the back of my neck have been covered in impetigo and fungi since having Covid damage. Ok. So that triggers TNF alpha as well….and IL 1? Or is it just TNF alpha? There is intercellular fluid. I mean in my tests… They are either gonna love me or hate me at the dr. Tomorrow.
Good for you, Mikha’el! We need to have persistence in finding our own answers. I have a degree in music, but I was taught to think and to keep learning. We can understand.
@@rebeccawilkinson1846 well they ended up saying there was no evidence I ever had Covid. My gp said “sorry that was a bad experience. Leave a complaint with the dept. Or go to patient advocacy” I asked how I get seen by long Covid now, and she said “I don’t know how that works”. She would be the one who can prove I had Covid. Because she’s my doctor. That’s how that works. It does not work by me just convincing someone who has never read my chart to believe me. I am my own doctor. Yay. When states go into a “crisis level of care” for a Covid surge we are not considered a good investment of a hospital bed and medicine. In several states we literally get taken to “compassionate care “ which is hospice to die. Colorado and Ohio and most of the south did this. Oregon has not officially done this, but unofficially, we can’t access care. We are a good country We do good things. Oh well.
@@mikhaellevin3353 I know. I just stopped by your channel and saw mention of your medical history. I knew I had to be my own doctor (with help from family) before covid. It is even more true now. I do believe we are a good country. That is why Dr. Syed makes these videos. It is why others are posting possible treatments at the cost of their own careers. It's why we keep fighting. But the establishment, institutional medicine, is broken. My friends in the system do their best but are handicapped by so many things. Those who leave the system are inaccessible by patients who lack funds. I think that's why it's so important for us to keep learning and keep talking to each other. One of my best medical leads came from a friend sharing a supplement she liked. Others didn't pan out. This one did. I pray that you have someone close to you who can help. When we are sick, we often can't do the work needed to find answers. God bless!
Good to see this discussion started. Please incorporate the role of the possible chronic inflammation caused by chronic exercising. I put in about 8 hours of exercise per week, and would like to know how all that exercise helps or hurts.
Dr Been that was an amazing informative lecture. I pray that you will be given the opportunity to give these gifts to humanity to all those who need it. Thank you so much.
This is great, thank you! Will you also be covering immune memory. Recent research is proving what some of us have suspected all along, showing that these inflammatory responses can continue long beyond the original need for the inflammation. For instance the pathogen is gone but the immune response and inflammation continues.
@@karenramnath9993 you didn’t catch my drift, it seemed he’s talking about dr Bruce Patterson and Incell testing. I wish that’s not who he meant, that’s all.
Thankyou so much, loved your explanations that constantly reference where your fact sits in the global picture. E.g. inflammation is a process of the Innate arm of the immune system. This is real teaching. I have been a nurse for 30 years and your explainstions are making all the little peices of amazing detail we learn over the years, making it all fit into the bigger context. Thankyou
Excellent start to the lectures! And this was a very subtle way of putting the truth 51:13 I hope you can include the effects of artificial sweetners on inflammation as in the UK almost all fizzy drinks include them now since the sugar tax, and I suspect it's similar in the US, and I just don't think we are seeing the full effects quite yet, educate the consumer and highlight the producers role in illnesses would be a really good start though.
GREAT TOPIC - Chronic Inflammation, THANKS. I sincerely hope that you also cover the issue of proliferation of certain tissues with large amount of Eosinophils causing inflammation, e.g. Eosinophilic esophagitis etc. in your forthcoming lectures in this series.
this video has been a HUGE eyeopener. I'm extremely interested in lipids / lipidology (as a consumer not a professional), understood that inflammation plays a part in atherosclerosis but didn't understand the mechanism. if I understood this correctly TNF/inflammation causes the tight junctions between endothelial cells to open allowing in WBC and ApoB contained lipids ? TNF/ILx also upregiulate ICAMS and VCAMS ? Wow -- Im going to have to watch this again ... extremely excited to see the next ones in the series !!!! ... love a video on atherosclerosis/inflammation from a TNF/ILx perspective THANK YOU ... the only negative is that Im going to haver to spend 2 weeks on google now that you've armed me with the relevant key words and phrases !!! (I spend a LOT of time on medical/logevity medical education - and this may be THE most important video Ive seen).
I was reared as a parasitology-specialist zoologist, I can just about keep up with you dear Dr Been, I am so grateful. I have done the one-and-done deal, but I think I'd better get you some coffees as well
Dr Bean … is there a connection with chronic inflammation, chronic stress and fibromyalgia? Can you please talk a bit in the future about fibromyalgia … it seems there are some similar symptoms… like extreme fatigue and chronic pain for long Covid and I’m wondering if there is potential to find new answers for all of these issues from the new interest in solutions for long covid. I’m hoping the increased number of people suffering from these issues must have some influence on the research funding?
Look up adrenal fatigue...you might find what you are looking for. Chronic stress wears out the adrenal glands, which then cannot properly control inflammation or pain-killing hormones.
From the perspective of some one with basic knowledge ( o level biology 28 yrs ago haha)I find your lectures soooo informative and easy to follow. Loving your work!
I decided I was done with the blood tests, CT scans, X rays, probes and medications- over it. I still have issues, but my body has changed amazingly with change of diet and fasting
Please correct me if I am wrong...chronic inflammation could cause damage to arteries that will lead to cholesterol increase to heal those arteries and as a result a stenosis will occur, am I right?
It's not that simple. There are likely different phenotypes who have ways of eating passed down through generations. Some people thrive on meat, some people plants. Most of the world are lactose intolerant but not Europeans as an example of adaptation
Grass fed and free range meat are actually quite healthy and non inflammatory. Have omega 3, and one of the few sources of vitamin K2. No purely vegetarian culture has ever survived that I’m aware of.
Dr. Mobeen, thanks very much for your videos. May I make a couple of suggestions for the title a) What Does It Mean To Be In A State Of Chronic Inflammation? (Lecture 1) b) Chronic Inflammation (Lecture 1) or maybe c) Chronic Inflammation - Definition And Explanation (Lecture 1) I'm not a doctor so these suggestions may not be useful however as someone who has learned a little about this topic it is a state that the body is in and I believe it's referred to almost always as '(a state of) chronic inflammation', hence my recommendations
Inflammation and the healing process are one. Chronic inflammation is the response to continual damage. The most obvious cause of continual damage is the standard American diet. Change to a plant based whole food diet immediately reverses inflammatory processes and results in functioning at a higher level. These changes can be reflected in lab results and subjective reports from people. No mystery here, as we've known these truths for many years. Would be nice to get docs on board so they could properly instruct patients regarding chronic disease.
There is no one diet for every human..it's Dow. To genetic heritage. Like I can't tolerate milk. An asiian person couldn't. Many cultures were founded on meat consumption. Many weren't. Start opening your mind
I caught the delta last year around November, and I got to say I barely survived it I'm 57 years old suffered a heart attack a while back and a damn near killed me. But I think what you're talking about is what I have every freaking joint in my body has been hurting more than any other time in my life after the covid. I'm on Social Security disability and I'm wondering if there's anything that we can take for this pain that's all over my body other than pain pills. Thank you for your continued work
Sounds like you are suffering from covid long haul syndrome. Have you attempted to treat it? Maybe you need a round of steroids. Check out the FLCCC protocol.
Chronic Tonsil/Pharynx inflammation for years. Antibiotics never worked. No real symtoms. But it doesnt want to heal, no matter what I do. Strep bacteria most likely the problem. Since I did get autoimmune issues like rheumatoid in my joints first months.
Good evening Sir! Thankyou for the informative presentation. I would like to talk about the differences between sterile inflammation and the inflammation due to the presence of bugs (pathogens/microbes). Could you please provide insights, how to distinguish between these two? Looking forward for your valuable suggestions. Thanks,
The reasons that a lot of people suffer from inflammation is because nobody cooks anymore and people eat junk food and food industry putting more additives and junk to the food, food addiction is a problem
Switching to a mostly whole foods keto diet with intermitent fasting has helped me with numerous issues. Some probably due to less overall inflammation. I don't think any studies against keto and IF could ever talk me out of it. Experience is most convincing.
@@morgothofkrynn656 sadly, vaxxed suffered, based on personal experience within cricle of relatives, being unvax til date had more confidence going through all this BS after having omicron like a common flu completely recovered without special treatment & with natural immunity to boot!
@@mamandapanda185 it would have been best if the chimeric spike protein was never released onto the world. The jabbed have a higher spike protein load for longer than those catching the virus organically. Additionally the liquid nano particles used are inflammatory.
125 million Americans are suffering from chronic inflammation (oxidative stress). How many Americans are breathing air with an elevated OP (oxidative Potential) ?
So funny & happy & many years ahead of joy, yet reality of micro & macro tissue damage. Counteract inflammation with small doses of fresh (or powdered) Clove, Tumeric, Ginger, white or fresh ground black pepper mixed into food or drink. High heated oil also necessary for better absorption. I do think the powders aggravate the lining of my throat when used in liquids. Many recipes & correct information (international scientific research) on line - Golden Tumeric milk or tea, etc.
Dear Dr. Mubeen Syed, I have gone through all of your immunologist lectures where you had said that you would tell us about the blood tests that can be carried on a patient that will help us to know which is the correct medications to be used from the autoimmune pharmacy depending on the pathophysiology of the autoimmune process. Unfortunately this part of explaining the tests has been skipped and I feel at a loss of information to help my patient. Could you kindly send me a link which takes me to the laboratory tests that will help determine which biologics should be best used in which situation. When do we use ANF alpha receptor blockers e.g. Infliximab, or specific interleukin receptor blockers for IL 1, IL 2, IL 4, IL 6, or compliment protein receptor blockers e.g. Maraviroc, or the biologics used to block B cell receptors e.g. Rituximab? I need guidance in this topic. Thanks
My mom has been told that she has chronic pain and chronic inflammation and none of her doctors can explain why or what is causing it she was told it could be because of breast cancer, chemo, radiation I don’t know I just know she has a lot of pain
Personally, I tried the full meat diet. I spent a week eating just red meat and I have to say, I felt great on it. It just isn't realistic for me. I really need the options of other foods even though I am so reactive to so many foods. Lately, my AI conditions are flaring so bad I might need to give it a try again (meat only diet) as my limited, as it is, diet isn't working like it used to. :(
Personally I can remember a time not so long ago when the sky was a deep dark almost blue. Clouds were gigantic sharply defined free form mountainous sculptures of dragons and comic strip characters. floating overhead slowly morphing into other shapes. A contrail was a very short puff of steam visible only a few seconds provided it was flying at 26,000 feet or more and a strong onshore flow of heavy moist air had enough energy to get the water vapor up to that altitude where it could form low pressure ice crystals which are the only way and altitude that a contrail can form. Kimberly T. Rails was a conspiracy theory and mobile phone coverage was spotty. Funny how there is a need for 17 major brands of OTC antihistamine blocking medicines. Apparently the problem is not our body being filled with heavy metal toxins, that's nothing to concern ourselves with. It's the histamine response going all OCD for no conceivable reason. Probably poor genetics and diet. Better slow down that overactive and defective immune system response with some good old Rock-a-feller approved treatments. Race for a cure!
Inflammation is a natural phenom to help immune heal normal function of affected organs lots can happen without bodily function to generate it's own process to heal man sometimes inhibates those programs to ensure producing healing effect medicine may have degenerative properties that harm other parts that have direct effects on ability to heal naturally I think lok
