@TraeThaTruth And then there are guys who feel that it isn't a sucessor to CT because the producer said it has nearly nothing in common with CT. "Chrono Cross is not a sequel to Chrono Trigger. Had it been, it would have been called Chrono Trigger 2. Our main objective for Chrono Cross was to share a little bit of the Chrono Trigger worldview, while creating a completely different game as a means of providing new entertainment to the player." - Hiromichi Tanaka, producer of Chrono Cross
It is the "Bend of Time" not "End of Time" It is supposed to represent the rift between time and space, not the end of time itself. It is different than that found in Chrono Trigger.
In the Japanese version, they're named after condiments! Flea is Mayooni (Mayonaise), Slash is Soi (Soy), and Ozzie is Binnega (Vinega). I'm not sure about the exact spelling, but you get the idea.
I remember watching this video almost everyday for a week when I was in highschool until I finally played this beautiful game and completed it. Fucking magical. They don't do it like this anymore
It's rather simple. Put a different color element on the first reel of elements. Your not looking to hurt him, so it doesn't matter if it is + or - on the element itself. Attack him until you have enough elements to use. Then wait for him to attack. Then use all six colors Yellow, Red, green, Blue,Black,White, Chrono Cross. After you use white, HE won't move so you can use chrono Cross ^.^
This game is really hard without a walkthrough.... The music is great.... Except for the battle music with the exception of some of the bosses' music. It isn't a real sequel to Chrono Trigger and you can tell. A lot of the stories they try to explain from chrono trigger are just sporadic and forced down your throat. There's no real events that would lead you to believe that is spawned from Chrono Trigger. But they tried, and it's good to see the CT references
Very late here, but as Cyril implied; the game is balanced enough that yes, you can go through the entire game just using your favourite characters, since none are inherently better than others unless you want to count their abilities and affinities, which would be useful or useless to you depending entirely on how you play.
Forget Me Not Pot is needed if you want to use Ozzie, Flea and Slash when Sprigg is in your party. Especially when you want to use the Z Slash Triple of Serge, Kid and Sprigg in Slash Form.
I don't know about you guys but I'm collecting those Ozzie Pants. I have 47 so far :) I agree about the replay value of this game. Not only to get everything and recruit everyone. Also in terms of the getting all the pieces of story together. This game has one of the best, most complex and deepest storyline ever. Every time I play trough it I learn something new. Some little detail I didn't really pay attention to when I last played it. And I understand it better each and every time I play it.
do the rainbow shell weapons do more dmg then the Mastermune and Einlanzer? also whats the easiest way to get the colors right on the final boss, its hard...
Chrono Cross is such an enjoyable game. I've never really understood the bashing it gets from so many people. Probably my biggest gripe with the game is they tell you at the very end some of the questions that remained throughout the game, which felt kinda lazy, but that's simply my opinion on the matter. The music absolutely rocked and the game was fun. Can't go wrong with that combo, right?
My party selection is my own. I use the party members i want to. And about the Sprigg thing... I have the Forget-Me-Not equipped... so i get the forms for sprigg even if i don't have her in my party.
I always thought, in Chrono Trigger, that even though the rainbow is the super sought-after material, that stealing the Slasher2 from Slash should produce a better weapon than the rainbow sword. But, it doesn't. So, now we're even. :)
It's great to see the three of them again but damn, I miss Flea's old hair style. I wish they had kept that. Don't get me wrong, he looks good in anything, and I'm a huge fan of short hair. It's just that... that braid he used to have was so lovely. Oh well, it's good to see that Slash and Ozzie still look pretty much the same. (Though maybe Ozzie lost some weight?) Slash looks especially cool here.
Kinda noticed that you missed one OB. The Black Dragon, you put him in your list of boss battles that you have to fight in CC. On another note, your char's are really strong!
hmmm so thats what behind that door....has any1 made a video about the Chimera boss fight? or is his name sphinx?...idk...uhhh he's that one guy in the earth dragon god's place
@Starcar64 in chrono trigger, when u go to the other side of the world with melchior's hut, i think it was in the present, they were worshipped by the little monsters as "mystical knights"
I wouldn't say "non-existent story"--in fact, the story's pretty good--but what it *doesn't* have is character development for anyone other than a very select few of its 44 characters.
If you liked Chrono trigger that much well this game is for you... There is like huh... more then 20+ characters...If you buy it on the PS1... I hope it doesnt bug like it did to me...Can't finish the game :(... or maybe i simply forgot to do some thing and it makes me bug
Every star you get lets all of your characters gain another set of stat points... but they don't carry over, so if you fight two bosses in a row without fighting something else, you're missing out on stat boosts forever
whoa, Pip with an Angel evolution. Given all the bugs around his evo making (and that evolutions DO NOT pass over between New Game +'s), is it actually worth the effort?
Those three! For some reason, they're always bragging about how strong they are, but they can really only hurt the players when they're together or when the players are inexperienced D:
@sumromulus666 Well, yeah, but see i wanted him to use it at least once for the video. Generally my videos are not about "lolo fastest way to kill the boss!!11!111" or "look at my leet levels lolo!!1!111" but just a regular run.
Chrono Cross is much more difficult to figure out than Chrono Trigger, and... Well, let's just say the characters you know and love are in it, but not the way you wanted them to be... But, yes, it's worth it.
@inkpaladin It's worth it if you manage to pull it off without the glitch screwing up his element grid. His final evolutions are honestly pretty good. And it's Pip.
i have a doubt, for example if you get a boss star with serge, kid and nikki in your party, do the other characters will also get bonuses in fights or do you need to use them in the boss fight?
Not true. The use of Chrono Cross Is for the final Battle. You UIse it on time devourer after you use all different color atributes. Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black, White, Chrono Cross. You do that, IN THAT ORDER, And the girl inside time devourer will be released. It is best to do it Right after He attacks, Cause then you can do all six colors one right after another, Just do not hit him at all... After you use the white element, He will not attack at all, Makeing Chrono cross easy to use.
In the real ending. Do Serge and Leena stay togehter? (I they where my favorite cuple... I have a soft spot for childhood friends) since the only thing I maneged to see in the real ending was Kid looking eternally for Serge, and some others endings or scenes, and a biutiful sound track.
So are Pip and Kid the best 2 to use for the first half and after serge is reborn? I just started playing it and Im at the S.S invincible and I keep bouncing back and forth with parties. I dunno what works and what doesnt. D:
