Chrono Trigger was developed and published by Square for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. Its soundtrack was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (with some tracks composed by Nobuo Uematsu due to an illness preventing Mitsuda from completing the soundtrack)
Special thanks to Brett Graham and Darrell Bueckert for their assistance with completing this recording, solving just a few of the many compromises I had to make it order to complete it.
Those familiar with the source material know that for many of my arrangements, the vast majority of the work goes into orchestration rather than actual arranging. On this one I wanted to spend a little extra time flipping that script around a bit, and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. At the Bottom of Night (Yasunori Mitsuda) represents some of the protaganists' darkest moments, and I tried to lean into that pressing weight of fear or grief, but remember - it's going to be all ok in the end.
In the meantime, this one is best enjoyed with some good headphones and turned up a little extra compared to my usual recordings.
