5:04 - THIS is how DarkMatter should've been FROM THE FIRST RELEASE ONWARDS! The color inversion, the shattering... it looks DEADLY AF, it's just PERFECT!
This is outstanding. Everything looked so good, but the best were the Dark Matter and Hell Geyser spells--the Spirits coming out of the flames was such a good touch to add. The gate scene at the end... this is how it should have always been done. Fucking amazing
OMG !!! The music, the action, the camera angle, the transition, the effect, everything is in perfectly balanced and beautifully executed. AMAZING ! SUPERB ! MAGNIFICENT ! This video is truly a State of the Art 😍🥰😘
Oh my GOD!!! I've never seen such a beautiful take on this game, Sqaure should literally buy this perspective idea off of whoever did it, and make it a re-release in 3-D!
This is probably the best way to remake the 16 bit jrpg classics, the sprites were so gorgeous that 3d models never do them justice. Cell shading might do pretty good for Crono's style but this style here is so slick.
Omg, just a whole version of chrono trigger that is just the original game with an active 3D camera. It could be so good! And it could probably be done quite simply
5 years later, this video just makes me hunger for a remake in this style. Petition for a fan game in this style? Also add that romhack that continues the story after and connects CC properly.
Well shit the first time I had this battle I swear I was fighting this guy for at least 30mins until he fell and you got him in 7 mins. My hats off to you sir or mam.
I'd love a remake of this game, not like the ff7 remake, I don't want a different game - the same goddamn game with new, higher resolution art that very much is in the same spirit and style as the original (get the dragon quest people to do it)
I see I'm not the only one haha I'm sitting here with extreme goosebumps and tears welling in my eyes from excitement watching this. Ahh the memories...
@@M3troid.I get what you are saying, it's perfect. But instead of a remake, think more of a rerelease so another generation can experience this amazing game
Why? I’m playing this for this first time. It’s alright but I don’t see the hype. It was worth the money I paid for the original cart. These games aren’t getting cheaper
@@cherokeefit4248 It’s because nostalgia is a powerful thing my friend, plus it’s some peoples very first RPG, so it means a lot more to them than it means to us, but i seriously respect, and love the game, also you could have gotten the DS version, or just emulated it, because Nintendo, doesn’t own the game.
For sure. Nostalgia is huge in the classic game market. Not me. I bought my favourite games and I play them quite often. I don’t see the hype of this game and earth bound. I do like FF3 on the snes. I haven’t played this game in a few weeks as I lost interest. Plus the story is confusing and I’m out of the loop hahaha
Very nicely done and great use of chromatic aberration. The dark matter, frost arc, and lavos summoning scenes look especially fantastic. All of the animations and effects are faithful to the original. I love the attention to detail.
Magus should've had the popularity Sephiroth garnered. Outstanding battle theme, awesome backstory, and an all-around savage character with a cool factor.
Man, that full 3d is cool. Doesn’t really work well with the 16-bit sprites, but I honestly like the contrast. It’s a really interesting effect I’ve never seen before
@@pikaqte5418 Honestly, just give me HD-2D Chrono Trigger with dynamic camera angles, diagonal sprites, and modern JRPG UI and QoL features and I'll be the happiest man on earth. Don't even need to change the core gameplay.
Square despises turn based RPGs now, which is why all ther ff games are real time hack and slashs and why they abandoned Chrono trigger remake, they would never allow one to go out , octopath might be the final exception as even if it sells well square will shrug it off and continue there ways, it best they don't touch Chrono as they will just force it to become there new hack and slash rpg like FF 7
@@maverickdarkrath4780 not true games Dragon Quest 11 and Octopath Traveler show that Square Enix still cares about Turn Based games they just dont want in Final Fantasy games.
No. People just want the graphics to be updated. It wasn’t possible in the past due to technology restrictions. But it’s possible now. It doesn’t make Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 7 any less perfect.
Playing it on SNES is still fun but this is amazing! I love the 3d environment, 2d sprites and dynamic camera. The camera adds so much more to the dialogue. Please make more vids of epic battles like Zenan bridge or Azala and Black Tyranno! Edit: In my excitement I forgot to check the date of the video... However I'm still glad you uploaded this.
That was truly epic! I'd certainly play a remake like this, 2D sprites and all! Only improvement I say is: get rid of that linear filtering (sprites and textures). It'd give a sense of clarity, especially being on a 3D space..
I always wondered whose voices do we hear before meeting Magus because it sounds like there's a lot of people mumbling but it's only Magus in the room so?...
