I really enjoy this mans knowledge that he puts into his videos and the amazing details. I have successfully rebuilt my own 4r70w transmission and now I have plenty of confidence in trying my second rebuild and its going to be a 46re. I know watching transmission bench videos I will have no issues. Thanks again
Thank you sir. I have a 2 2001 dodge ram 1500s. One of them has 325000 miles and the other has 258000 miles on it. I've been struggling putting junkyard used transmissions on them about every two years just to get by. I will attempt my own full transmission rebuild because of your videos. I appreciate you so much, and I live the nice slow pace in which you teach.
jimmy, i followed your whole series from beginning to end. i am not expert mechanic, but i do repairs on my own vehicles. Thanks to your you tube videos and i the parts i ordered from your website, and the phone calls i placed to you that you put up with, i have sucessfully rebuilt my 46 re dodge ram 1500 transmission, 10000 miles plus on rebuild. Your instruction on this is flawless. thank you very much. dan bruce
hey bud did you use these videos to do your transmission? I'm going to attempt to do my dodge 46 re can I ask what year was your dodge? I have a 2002 1500 slt 5.9 liter 4x4 just wondering if you had the same maybe not the same year but everything else the same and did you use this video to rebuild
@Transmissionbench I myself own a 2nd generation Dodge Ram, however I didn't buy it new like you have. But I agree with you about working on your own vehicle, it's free labor, and you get to learn things about it as well. Plus when the project is done, you gain a sense of pride in the fact that you did it yourself. But I've always worked on my own trucks, it's how I was raised! My 1996 Ram is my second love and at 165k is getting a ground up restoration/ modification and color change. Thanks for teaching me how to work on the transmission!
sir I don't know if you check your messages here on RU-vid I have a quad cab 1500 Dodge ram it's basically like the one you showed in your picture except mine's red and my 46re failed on me I want to say with the most absolute thank you for your teachings in and all of the effort that you put on your videos it's because of you I still have my Dodge ram without your videos and your teaching and doing each thing step by step I saved my vehicle that I care for and yes it's paid for thank you so much I watched your videos over and over and over you are definitely a class A1 teacher I just don't know how much to say thank you for teaching me things I didn't know about the automatic transmission thank you so much
These are the best videos. Great display of the parts. Good slow pace . Shows both sides of the part to be put in the box till later. Thanks for the information.
Great series. I have a new TC and cooler, but it looks like I have to tear it down by the amounts of clutch material! Slams hard into gear forward or reverse and dies. I think the converter grenaded! Thanks J in Albuquerque.
Whenever I replace a transmission, I replace the radiator and add a larger transmission cooler. The transmission cooler inside the old radiator can get clogged with debris from the old burned up transmission. It's almost impossible to make sure that it's flushed out. You don't want debris from the old transmission breaking loose and ending up in your new transmission. It's good practice to just replace it. Often, if you buy a rebuilt transmission and don't replace the radiator. It voids the warranty of your new transmission.
I've got a 2000 dodge ram 1500 sport 4x4. My old transmission went out so I got a new transmission and transfer case from powertorque transmissions. I got it in installed and it jumps at 35mph and the over drive feels like it slips what's wrong with my transmission? And I certainly want to rebuild mine because your instructions are very clear I just want to know an easy way to lower and lift my transmission back into my truck.
Hello sir if you could help me would greatly appreciate it. Have a 1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9 4x4 when it's cold pulls in reverse great when warms up it stalls the engine in reverse . It's a automatic transmission . Have replaced torque converter
